All right, so I have made my decision! I've sent five of you a PM, and I hope you are still interested. I'll give you a few days to post in here to show me that you are still interested, if you don't post then I will find someone else. I hope that doesn't happen though.
I am expecting I will post once or twice a day, maybe more depending on my schedule and the activity in the gameplay thread. I expect you all to post at least once a day, and once on the weekends.
Also, for those of you who haven't already done so, can you include in your profile a reason for you to be in Sandpoint at the Swallowtail festival. Before the first encounter, I will have some roleplaying around town that plays along with your characters, to get you all familiar and feel as if you are part of the town.
I'm excited for this!

Terran Goldpeak |

Hey there, thanks for accepting me into this campaign. I'm super excited to get a chance to play it. I sent a request for access to the maps you posted.
As for being in Sandpoint, the rumors of giants in the area has prompted Terran to head this way. Too many times has he gotten some place to late just to witness the destruction the giants have left behind. The thing is Sandpoint is much larger than the usual village he wanders to, should be interesting.

Noamuth |

Thanks for the nod! Here's hoping it's a great run!
Noamuth is in Sandpoint for the Swallowtail Festival, where she will dance under the stars, in honor of Desna, who painted them on the sky.
"Oh, you did not know that? Yes, Desna went to paint the stars on the sky, but she was dancing, and so they are scattered. But you can see the lines where she was spinning with her arms out, you can see the places where she put a hand to rest... What? You cannot see this? Well, I can." And she dances away.
Ok, so she's no Theologian. But she is a good dancer. :)

tessara s |

as to why Tessara was in sandpoint, she was exploring the ruins that dot the landscape and has come into town for supply's and to watch the Festival. As well to relax for a time.
as Noamuth talks about how desan painted the stars, Tessara starts to think, wait is that how it happened lets see.
know religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
just for the fun of it, lets see how wrong Noamuth is.....seems she is right on the money

Hi all, excited to get this moving along. Eugenis is born and bred in Sandpoint. Locals know him as a bit of a shady lad who was orphaned in a goblin attack a few years back. He is currently serving in the city watch as a junior watchman. (If he is on duty at the time of the festival or not is unknown)

That was exactly my thought. Now, I'll be a bit careful as I haven't actually used it myself for a campaign, just been messing about with it i little like yourself, but the idea seems good and if it works lets us all know where we are on a map. We can all log in at our convenience, look at maps, handouts etc and move our counter when it is our turn etc. What do you guys think, is it worth giving a shot?

Armen Corrick |

armen's reasoning for being in sandpoint:
Armen is currently seeking outside opportunities after a... sudden shut-down of his brewery, Lunatic Binge, in Absalom. Perhaps you've heard of it?
The authorities as well as many former employees and customers were so deeply upset at therather abrupt closing, that Armen felt it was best to leave town and seek opportunities elsewhere. He figured they'd be better off picking up the pieces if he wasn't there to be a target for such overwhelming grief. That kind of energy is better spent on more practical endeavors than the violence that can follow in the wake of such a community tragedy, you know?
Sandpoint seemed as good a place as any. Armen figured that the best way to develop new opportunities was to put a good distance between himself and his past business ventures.
I've had some success with google docs in PBP, and there are several different methods of using maps. I'm interested to see if we can use roll20 in a PBP setting, but ultimately, whatever works.

I guess the improvement in roll20 over the "screenshot-and-post" method is that each player is able to log in and move their icon on a map rather than having to describe to the DM where to go, and the map will always be up to date.
But I agree with Armen, whatever works!

Morphelis |

Okay, looks like we have all of our players here. So I will be messing around with roll20 to see what I can do with that. I am not planning to begin play until the end of the week, as I am quick busy moving from my home to school, so I will be swamped with that. But that will give me some time on my downtime to figure out how to make the maptools/20roll whatever works to work.

Morphelis |

Alright everyone, calm down :) we will begin soon. I have just finished unpacking my suitcase and have a few more things to take care of. Should post within the next two hours.
As far as the roll20 goes, I plan on using it for when I can get accurate maps. But for encounters that can be easily described (i.e. a town square, say in front of a new cathedral) I will just describe it with text.
Thanks for being patient, it is kind of hectic here on my end, but once we get going it should be smooth sailing.

Morphelis |

There ya go!
And I was thinking about the roll20. I might just use it myself to show you where everything is, because the grids on the images do not match up with those in the program. So what I will do is describe it to you, and give you the link to the map, where I will draw up where everyong is and update it each round. Does that sound good?

Terran Goldpeak |

I logged into the roll20 But I don't see anything, I'll check back later.
edit: O there it is, you're drawing the lines. My bad.
Edit2: here is how I do the pbp game I am currently running.
Doesn't take too long so if this is something you are interested in doing this way just let me know. If not the roll20 way should work fine.

Terran Goldpeak |

I use map tools and then take a screen shot of what I'm looking at and then crop it out in paint. Then just post it to drive.google and set it to share with anyone. It will give you the link and ta da instant map. To update you go back to map tools and move the tokens around quite easily.
To turn on the grid and the coordinates it is under the view option.

Noamuth |

Well, if you're all waiting for me, I'll be trying to stay between Tessara and any goblins, and using my attacks to Power Attack the ones she puts to sleep. If they get up, AOO. If some other gobbo just runs up, I've got 10' of reach, so AOO then, too.

Morphelis |

Hey everyone. Unfortunately, I will not be able to continue running this game. I started this and another adventure as a player over the summer, and didn't realize my responsibilities that headed my way once school began again. Sorry to say that this adventure will not be progressing further I thank all of you for showing interest, and sorry to have gotten your hopes up/wasted you time.
Best to all you,
Morphelis out
