Pehmah Yonten |
"My entertainments generally focus on honing my skills. I could show you some feats of acrobatics, if you'd like. Or I could punch something. I spend most of my time righting wrongs."
Arkon the Thunderer |
"Try to punch Karmid then we'll get the lot, you doing acrobatics, punching things and righting wrongs and then Karmid will be talking lots, jumping about and making funny noises"
"And no I wouldn't make a good target, you'd upset the little dinosaur and well that wouldn't work out well for anyone.."
Orz sticks his head up over the table top and gives an inquisitive "chirrup "
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Orz sticks his head up over the table top and gives an inquisitive "chirrup "
Karmid shaking his head sadly sits forward and looks deadly serious.
"I agree Orz, hes really...not that funny is he?"Looking at Pehmah critically, Karmid raises a bushy eyebrow and points at a nearby empty chair.
"I'll buy the next round if you can balance on one hand from the back of that chair for twenty seconds."
Pehmah Yonten |
"As long as the next round is the best they have, not that swill you were drinking, I accept."
Pehmah moves the chair into a relatively clear area nearby, then stands still and centers herself for a moment.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
She then flips her body over and above the back of the chair, slowly raises her body higher using the strength of her arms, then finally balances on a single hand for over thirty seconds.
Arkon the Thunderer |
Arkon claps at Pehmahs performance..
"I wonder if they have really expensive fruit juice behind the bar?
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Karmid stands and claps loudly.
"Ha! Never let it be said that Pehmah Yonten backed away from a true challenge! Next round on me!"
Elbowing Arkon, Karmid smirked and spoke conspiratorially, "Personally I didn't think that rickety chair would last 20 seconds!"
Arkon the Thunderer |
Arkon whispers back conspiratorilly
"Pehmah doesn't seem to weigh anywhere near what we do, chairs appreciate not being squashed to death"
Karmid Groundbreaker |
"Tell me about it! For a while there I was being called 'Karmid the Chairslayer!' by all the kids of Sandpoint!"
Milton McMurray |
Milton then stands up, "I guess that it is my time to entertain. All I have is my voice, so here it goes."
He then sings a song of love and redemption, one you've heard him sing before.
Perform: Singing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Arkon the Thunderer |
Arkon gives a good clap for Milton
"A fine performance, I'm not sure if I have anything to contribute.. I could ask Orz to do some tricks, but I think of him more as a friend than a dog.."
He ponders for a few seconds
"Does anyone have a spell that can conjure acid? If so please cast it at my hands.
He hold his hands out away from anyone else
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Karmid's brow furrows in worry.
"Uhhh...let's not melt the tables and chairs Arkon."
Arkon the Thunderer |
"I only really have that trick other than being wicked strong... ah well I'll just sit and be the strong appreciative type."
GM Amsheagar |
Your group is having a wonderful time in one of Sandpoint's fine taverns. Enjoying the free lunch that they have provided for this day of festivities. Much has already happened within the day, the opening speech from Mayor Deverin welcomed all of those around. Unfortunatly, he had to make some bad jokes how how the local tanner, Larz Rovanky, and notorious workaholic, managed to tear himself away from his work to attend. Which surprised everyone but Larz's.
After the Mayors speech, Sheriff Belor Hamlock gets up onto the stage and reminds everyone to be safe and be calm. "I don't want to lock anyone up today. It's a holiday." he said, which earns more laughter than the Mayors joke. He then holds up a hand to gather every bodies attention. "I know that this is a happy day and good times are still to come." he waits for a moment. "But, we must not forget the hardships and losses we have had, especially those we lost several years ago when our local church burnt down." the crowd grows quieter. "If you wouldn't mind, I would like a moment of silence to remember those we lost." The crowd goes quiet.
After a few moments pass, he speaks up again. "Thank you. I know some of you might have lost someone in that church." he bites his lip. "Now, our next speaker Lonjiku Kaijitsu has fallen ill and can not make it today."
A man near your group laughs quietly and says. "Well, that's no surprise. He didn't like these festivals anyways."
The sheriff continues. "So, I'll go ahead and hald the stage off to Cyrdak Drokkus, and let him entertain us." The sheriff walks off the stage as Cyrdak comes up and start to entertain you all.
Cyrdak's show is something to remember, though some parts did go over the crowds heads. As he is finishing, the last act of his skit he stops. "Well, now" he says looking out at everyone. "I hope that you are entertained. Because that's all you are going to get right now." He laughs as the crowd boo's him. "If you want more, you'll have to come to the Sandpoint Theater later tomorrow evening and see my new production "The Harpy's Curse" Which i am sure you'll enjoy." he puts his hand up to his mouth and does a stage whisper "The lead role will be non other than Magnimarian diva Allishanda herself." the crowd erupts into applause. He quickly bows before heading off the stage.
Finally, Father Zantus steps up onto the stage and gives a quick speech thanking everyone for coming and hopes that the the festival will be another success this year before he releases everyone to have fun and party.
After a wonderus morning the Father has his acolytes wheel in a large covered wagon into the square. He tells a story of how Desna first fell to earth and was nursed back to health by a blind child whom she transformed into an immortal butterfly as a reqward for her aid. They pulled aside the wagon's cover, releasing thousand children of Desna-a furious storm of swallowtail butterflies that swarmed into the air in a spiral riot of color to a great cheer from the crowd.
As you are sitting down to eat, talking and whatnot, you are somewhat surprised by the curry Ameiko Kaijitsu has prepared. Differently something worth while.
Pehmah Yonten |
"Ah, that Ameiko makes the best food in the land. Reminds me of the food I grew up on. Spicy and full of flavor, unlike the bland gruel those Taldanes like to call a meal."
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Relishing the unique spiciness of the curry, and the sweating it brings on, Karmid hastily swallows and gestures overhead.
"I like the butterflies the myself! Beautiful! Heck, if I hadn't been called to the service of Erastil, I might have leaned towards a Desnan life of carefree travel and following my dreams...even to the stars! Good thing Old Dead-Eye keeps me grounded, hey? Ha!"
Arkon the Thunderer |
"GAH! exclaims Arkon loudly after a few mouthfuls.. he chugs an apple juice very quickly..
"Is that a type of poison? My mouth is on fire! "
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Handing Milton a napkin for his nose, Karmid interjects,
"Yeah! The best stuff burns away your stomach lining and replaces it with gaseous intestinal distress later! Ha!"
Nikolai Radavaski |
"The food is a delight. What is life without a little spice, eh? Love's fiery embrace sometimes needs a cool drink,"Nikolai raise a glass of wine and gestures at the colorful swarm of swallowtail butterflies,"A toast to their glorious dance! A reminder to love the moment because moments can be all too fleeting!"
Arkon the Thunderer |
Munching on some bread now having pushed the meal aside
"Yes the butterflies are very pretty."
Xarmas Misinirith |
Xarmas stares at the group while she drinks, observing, and saying nothing.
Karmid Groundbreaker |
"Don't forget to blink Xarmas."
Smiling at his own humor, Karmid tosses a hunk of soft bread at the woman's face playfully.
GM Amsheagar |
CONSECRATION: Finally, as the sun begins to set, Father Zantus takes the central podium, uses a thunderstone to attract everyone's attention, and clears his throat as he prepares to recite the Prayer of First Dreaming. Unfortunately, the thunderstone's detonation is also the prearranged trigger for the goblins, who have slowly been infiltrating the town while its citizens are merrily distracted.
The sun begins to set as Father Zantus takes the central podium. Unfortunately, the crowd is still having fun and not listening to him. He pulls out an object from his pocket and the next thing you hear is the sound of thunder as it cracks through the air. As the crowd goes silent, he starts to speak. Only to be interrupted by singing… in way off tune voices.
Goblins chew and goblins bite.
Goblins cut and goblins fight.
Stab the dog and cut the horse.
Goblins eat and take by force!
You look around to see where the sound is coming from and there is a horde of goblins that have infiltrated the city.
Goblins Race and Goblins Jump
Goblins splash and goblins bump.
Burn! The skin and mash the head
Goblins here and you be dead!
Your crew is gathered in the center of the crowd, outside of the bar and just in front of the stadium.
Chase the baby, catch the pup.
Bonk the head to shut it up.
Bones be cracked, flesh be stewed,
We be Goblins! You be FOOD!

Okay, I put a box on the map. Place your character token inside of it for now. The map is located at the top of the thread now. This will be the same location for every map used in this game. I will keep the Bad guys together, unless there is a group larger than 5. IF that happens, i'll have them go on their own turn. Well. Lets get this started.

Xarmas Misinirith |
Not sure why my laptop is being ridiculous, but it keeps moving the map, rather than let me place a token. I will see if I can get it to work. Apologies if I didn't put the map back in the exact place.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Nuts, didn't make the Perception roll. Xarmas will just go full defensive as she looks around to find the source of the singing.
Xarmas draws her quarterstaff, and drops into a defensive stance. She looks around, and calls out to her companions.
"You hear those damned goblins? Where are they? Don't let them sneak up on you!"
Arkon the Thunderer |

"Three goblins over there"
Arkon points at them and then draws his club
GM Amsheagar |
The goblins move out from under the cart. The Red one moves to a table and starts to stuff some of the feast into his pouch. The Green Goblin Climbs up onto the cart. The Yellow one looks at the The human female of the group, Xarmas, and shoots an arrow at her.
Forgot to mention this... but to keep the thread somewhat clear, could you put your dice rolls in spoilers. Unless my spoiler says you can't, go ahead and look at them.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The arrow flies high over Xarmas' head... As if the Goblin was aiming at an apple perched there instead.

Posted before I realized that Pehmah hasn't gone yet... You're turn is up now and Arkon pointed where they are. You get a Plus 5 to your perception...
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Please forgive me any mistakes on this, as I'm still new to the PbP format. On my action...
Growling at the Yellow goblin shooting at his friend, Karmid turns toward the small archer,
draws his belt dagger and attempts to reach the creature quickly in order draw its focus to himself,
and hopefully prevent more random bow shots into the rapidly dispersing crowd.
Pehmah Yonten |
Percep: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Pehmah saw the goblins, and moves up to the nearest one, hoping to take it out. As she moves, her fists seem to become covered in some sort of bark, making them harder than the goblin might expect. Using 1 round of my wooden fists ability, free action.
Unarmed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Unfortunately she is not yet used to wielding her woody fists, and swings wide.
Nikolai Radavaski |
Nikolai is startled by the unexpected presence of goblins in the town and reacts more slowly than his companions. He watches Pehmah advance on a goblin and swing wide. As he approaches that same goblin, Nikolai feels the flush of love's righteous wrath calling for justice. He begins a rhythmic advance his bladed scarf weaving back and forth like a viper until it suddenly strikes out at the goblin,"Let our dance begin!"
Swift Action to make Judgment of Justice(+1 to hit), Move Action to close on goblin, Standard Action to attack with Bladed Scarf
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Round 1 Wrap up
Pehmah was able to spot the Goblins hidden under the cart and got a shot off on them. But was unable to hit.
Xarmas and Milton were not able to see the hidden goblins.
The goblins have moved out from under the cart, two of them are messing around while one shot at Xarmas that missed.
Nikolai moves into hit the goblins, but misses.
Karmid and Arkon haven't acted yet. After you two go, Pehmah, Xarmas and Milton feel free to post your actions for round 2.

club: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Karmid Groundbreaker |
@GM:You can assume if you wish that I chose not to attack for the first round because I wanted to make sure I could get into threat range of the Yellow Goblin, and I was not sure of the movement status (pushing through the crowd?) or if you allow drawing a weapon as part of a move action. So on to round 2! Since the Goblins go first, Karmid will follow the Yellow goblin as long as possible in case it backs off to shoot again...
Karmid keeps his dagger low like he was taught, and stays with the darting Yellow goblin to....STRIKE at the opportune moment!

"What in the world? What do they think they are doing?" Milton then sighs and begins casting a protective spell.
"That should help, now let's take care of this."
Casting Mage armor and using 1 point from my arcane reservoir to raise the caster level by one.
Pehmah Yonten |
Pehmah continues using her wooden fists, and flurries on the goblin next to her.

Xarmas Misinirith |
Xarmas growls, and her face contorts. Her nose elongates by about an inch, and her hair stiffens down her back. Her arms bulge under her clothes, and she runs at the goblin near the cart. When she arrives at her foe, she winds up, and tries to hit the goblin with a haymaker.
She activates Animal Focus as a Swift Action, and runs at the goblin still at the cart. It looks like she is 30 feet away, so I will roll for her attack.
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 = 17
Unarmed Melee (Non-Lethal Damage): 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Karmid moves to the Yellow goblin and kills it with the first strike.
Arkon moves up and on the Red goblin, who's stuffing his pockets, and misses.
Pahmah is able to land a blow on the Red goblin, but only winds it.
Xarmas lets her inner animal out and runs at the Goblin in the cart and lands a powerful blow on it. Killing it.
Milton casts mage armor.
The remaining Goblin swings down at the wild woman who hit him. But he is unable to land a blow on the wild thing.
