Not particularly agile in the best of days, the ogre spellcaster bellows with pain as Kellek's lightning bolt cracks into her. From the string of curses she releases afterward in giant, the blast was not quite enough to finish her off. Moments later, Kellek loses his footing and slips into the pit to land on top of her.

Fall damage, unless you've got some way to avoid it (B): 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

Flo attempts to dispel the confusion, but finds her spell not quite able to lift the effect. Kargas wanders in search of blood, finding Guiness and delivering a slash that bounces off the dwarf's armor.

If Kellek has fallen atop her, the ogress shakes him free and attempts to climb out of the pit by bracing herself against the walls. She makes absolutely no progress, finding no grip on the fairly rough walls of the pit. Assuming Kellek is down there with her, he can see she looks grievously injured and a hair away from passing out.

Go Kellek with the gravity kill ;) I don't know if it is better or worse that the mist is up at this point, but none of us are going to have a chance at restraining those guys... Let the three rounds happen and Flo will get a channel off after round 2?

"No need to thank me." comes an unseen, plaintive voice as if out of a deep, fog-shrouded well.

In the pit, Kellek stands up, and searches the orgess for any magic (using detect magic), or books (using his hands). Once the sounds of battle stop, he dismisses the pit and slowly rises to the surface as if riding in an elevator.

Beat me by one, Kargas, assuming the fog doesn't negate it. DM, can we devolve into a shoving match now instead of swinging at each other? It might be funny if someone landed in the pit, if a bit crowded.

Even with the ogre spellcaster down, the effects of her magic linger and continue to cause trouble. Guiness and Kargas exchange a round of blows, the dwarf striking true against the half-orc (using your first set of rolls). Inside the pit, Kellek finds multiple magic auras on the ogress - both auras from still-lingering magic spells and those of likely magic items. She doesn't appear to bear any books, however.

To the north, you hear Kaven striking himself and then briefly regaining his senses. He drops his bow, for all the good that'll do him, and looks pleadingly toward Flo, hoping she might have a magical solution for the affliction.

The following round:
Guiness and Kargas exchange another round of blows. Guiness connects with Dragonfist (18 dmg after DR), but Kargas' fearsome bull rush sends the normally steady dwarf flying through the wall of flames. (Wall deals 12 dmg after resist)

As Guiness falls through the flames, you all hear grunts of surprise and confusion from the eastern room. The two ogres you trapped earlier have spotted him. And almost right on cue, the flames from the wall of fire fade away.

Just to help with tracking: The Confusion will last two more rounds, pit will last five more rounds. Wall of fire has expired. Obscuring mist lasts minutes per level, so it'll be sticking around, though the heat of the wall of fire burned out the mist in the eastern room.

Kicked through a wall of fire by the vicious half-orc who promptly dissapeared in the mists, Guiness lost all orientation and somehow found himself in a clear room with two ogres, a wall of swirling mist shrouding the doorway where the fire had been. Looking around, he tries to get his bearings and clearly think what he should do...

Going to assume that since he can't see the half-orc anymore, he is going to assess the situation anew in his confused state and roll on the table.

Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 58

Backing into a corner, Guiness looks around fearfully. Shield and hammer at the ready, he tenses up and tries to look ferocious, only succeeding in clanging the back of his left elbow into the wall--that will surely leave a bruise.

Damage before DR: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Looooooool XD Also Kargas should be at 34pts of damage from Shield Other and Flo at 53 for the same reason.

Staggering with pain as Kargas apparently takes a beating, Flo slowly moves deeper into the fog and channels before things get more dangerous.

Just a couple of points--my own personal alignment is Awful Neutral. A 30' channeling burst isn't going to hit Kellek (or other people with total cover) from Flo's current position (I didn't pay attention to see if she moved, or from where), and Kellek's wall of fire lasts 8 rounds after this here post, and I'm not sure we've gone that far yet. There wouldn't be any fog on the far side of where the wall was either as the wall would have burned that away when the obscuring mist was cast. I just can't crop the circle area template that way. ;)

All that said....

Probably just those two oafs bashing at one another. thinks Kellek at the sounds of the ruckus above. Best I let them get it out of their systems before heading back up.

Since it will take Kellek a couple of rounds of concentrating on detect magic to see what is what (it takes 3 rounds to see where the auras are coming from) so he continues doing that this round. He checks to see if there is spell component pouch on the ogress as his move action.

Round 1

Colvyn takes a step forward unsure of what to do at this point. With no ogre in sight and with no way to stop the fight between the confused Kargas and Guiness, he feels like the only thing to do is to wait it out.

Round 2

With the flying dwarf going through the doorway and the wall of fire being gone right after, Colvyn decide to get out of the fog. Once in the room, he makes sure to stay away from the dwarf and fire an arrow at one of the two ogres. The green one

Kellek checks the ogre spellcaster over and doesn't find any spell component pouches, though he does note that she's wearing an armband, an amulet, a ring, and has a vial and wand stuffed in her furs. Kellek's earlier wounds remain.

Over to the north, a still-confused Kaven strikes himself with his fists. Meanwhile, Colvyn escapes the mists and fires at one of the ogres. The ogre just barely manages to hunker down and take the shot in a thick section of his hide armor, not letting the shaft draw blood.

The ogres charge forward with ogre hooks raised and screaming for blood. Blue tears a gouge into the wall behind Guiness, well off the mark, while green's ogre hook catches on a chair while he swings it, giving Colvyn ample time to get away.

Colvyn and Guiness' counterattacks prove effective, Colvyn landing two solid slams with his longbow while Guiness cracks a kneecap with his hammer. To the north, you hear Kaven continue to babble. Thanks to Kellek's silence, Kargas isn't able to find a target to exact his wrath upon. Flo's butterflies surround Colvyn with luck.

The ogres, injured but hardly out of the fight, swing in with the ogre hooks again. Blue lets out an angry bellow as he swings twice at Guiness. His first strike glances off Guiness' shield, but the second is a lucky blow that manages to weave between the dwarf's many defenses. (Dealing 26 dmg after DR) The red ogre spots Flo doing something magical to Colvyn and decides to nip her efforts in the bud. His overhead smash with the ogre hook crushes her shoulder and sends her sprawling into the ground. (Dealing 31 dmg) With Flo dealt with, the ogre returns his attention to Colvyn, taking a single swing that the nimble ratfolk is able to duck under.

Only the first of Guiness' strikes lands with a satisfying crack against the blue ogre, with his second swing and his headbutt deflecting off the ogre fighter's armor. Kargas follows by rushing out of the mist and getting another powerful slash in. The combined injuries are serious, but not enough to take the blue ogre out. Meanwhile Kellek rises back to the surface.

Kaven, with his mind clear, swears profusely before diving back into the mist and arriving to back the rest of you up. When you spot him behind Kargas, he has a potion in hand.

Colvyn's first strike lands thanks to Desna's own luck, but his second only impacts the ogre's armor.

The blue ogre tries for two more momentous swings against Guiness, but with his defensive stance he's easily able to deflect each blow as it comes in despite the size and strength of the ogre behind it. To the south, the red ogre does the same against Colvyn, but his magical wards hold off a direct hit. (Those buffs working overtime!)

Flo looks over her body, straightening her clothes out. "Ogres, I think. We're liberating a Black Arrow Fort from Ogres. Their leader is part of a group that's been threatening my home. Our home," she corrects. "My family live on the Lampblack and my friends in the cities of Varisia. We've been trying to keep these communities safe," she explains.

The woman in the moon nods her head in consideration. "You've been keeping routes and hubs safe for travelers, marvelous! Simply marvelous!" the voice proclaims, humming gently into Flo's mind. "Yet, I sense your work has yet to conclude. Soon, but not yet. Soon. You don't wish for it to be so, but your priorities will be checked soon. I'll speak no further on the issue, but prepare yourself for an abrupt change. I see it nestled on the horizon of your fate."

Working together as a team, just after having been at each others necks thanks to the confusion, Guiness and Kargas dispatch the blue ogre with a flurry of slashes, smashes, and a very painful looking headbutt to a kneecap. Kaven takes advantage of the distraction to drag Flo to the relative safety of the mist, where Kellek is able to pour a potion down her throat and shock her back to the world of the living.

To the south, Colvyn manages to sneak another bow strike past the ogre's defenses. It retaliates, bellowing with unreasoning rage at the small ratfolk that just won't die. Two more swings of its hook later and all it has accomplished is to carve more furrows in the floor and walls.
