"Scarlett could you take a look at those boxes?"

"Every one has a bad time every now and then. It's just bad luck, a poor roll of the dice some might say. Perhaps you are just over thinking it. If you get in your in your mind that you can't do it, you won't. Just keep in your mind 'I think I can, I think I can'. And you will.

He then goes to invesigate the two coffers.

When you enter the staircase. Going off of single file line with Del in the front, unless Dalron or Scarlet are scouting. Unless I hear otherwise Del is first.

Dalron leads the way into the room.
The narrow stairs give way to a wide room lit by a faint white light.
Four statues stand in the wide area where the room opens up, each apparently ensorcelled to add a lifelike aspect to it. One represents a tall male human who has a salt and pepper beard, plate armor, and a holy symbol of an ancient god emblazoned on his shield. His brown eyes flash and his black hair blows in an illusory wind.
Another shows a female elf dressed in armor made from overlapping metal leaves. Her tall bow is made of ivory, and the green of her cloak seems to blend into the background of the room. She crouches in a hunter’s stance, peering off into the distance at an unseen target.
The red haired woman from the paintings you’ve seen is depicted in the third statue. Her hair, kept in check by a silver circlet set with a gleaming diamond falls in wavers down her back, over her white and gold robes. In one hand, she holds a staff tipped with a dragon’s head. Her other hand stretches out of the statue across the room to a knightly figure.
The gold crown on this statues head nearly blends into his blond, flowing hair. The man’s blue eyes shimmer in the dim light as he stares across the room at the red haired woman. He holds a black longsword point down in one hand. The man’s other hand is held out, palm upward, towards the statue of the woman.
Beyond the statues, sarcophagi along the southern wall have been wrenched open, their lids cast to one side. From where you stand, you can’t see the eastern part of the room, but you can tell the shouting and ringing come from there.
Dalron continues forward through the room and is able to see the eastern side of the room.
Two more thoughtlessly opened sarcophagi occupy the eastern portion of the room. Here also, swinging a pick at the floor is a male hobgoblin clad in half Plate, his black hair shorn close to his scalp. Nearby stands a slight but imposing man in rich violet roes, reptilian scales on his forehead and bald pate, as well as his bright yellow eyes, marking him not quite human. He leans wearily on an ornate spear.
“Fools!!” he sputters. “You’ll ruin everything!”
Upon seeing them Dalron’s arrow is let loose but does not find a home.

Del charges up to the hobgoblin and his attack lands. An arrow whizzing past the dwarf also strikes the hobgoblin.
The arrow from Lanliss and the Force Missile both find a home in the scaled creature.
The scaled creature, from the description you have collected from everyone is the leader known as Xeron, the hobgoblin would be his right hand man Jeroog.
Xeron move north one square as he pulls out something from his cloak. He tosses it towards the group of you. You cannot make out what it is but it was glass as it shatters on the ground. A mist forms and coming forth from it is a creature that has the lower body of a worm, the head of a snake with milky white eyes, and two long arms that terminate in enormous bone claws. It holds its body at about the height of a human as it rises to attack.
In a rare language Xeron speaks out to the creature as it attacks out at Dalron. Wildly swinging its two bony claws and taking a bite, this creature only hits with one of its claws. Dalron takes 6 DMG
The hobgoblin takes a minor step back as Bozvrig’s battle cry leaves him shaken. He snaps to as he sees the dwarf charge in and attack him. He finds an opening and he hefts his greataxe and finds an opening that was left open from Del’s charge. The hobgoblin swings the axe as if he is bringing down a tree and connects with Del’s side and critically damages the dwarf. Lifelessly the dwarfs body falls lifeless between the sarcophagi to the south. Del takes 40 damage from a critical hit.
Xeron hisses in approval “Yesss my petssss. Slay them and our tasssk will be finished.”
In a flash before Scarlets eyes he sees his party move in with force and look like this task will be completed quickly, but the tide might not be in their favor as this creature has appeared before you and Del slumps lifelessly on the ground.
This creature is a monstrous humanoid known as a Nagatha. This evil creature is blind but it has senses that make up for it.
Its two claw attacks pack a punch, but it is its bite that leaves a lingering effect...

The hobgoblin doesn’t think much of it, but it begins to get weak in the legs and looks down at the pool of blood forming around its feet. It isn’t Del’s, it is his own. So with me locked in the corner, am I able to still fight with the Shaken condition?
Spells, magic items, and certain monsters can affect characters with fear. In most cases, the character makes a Will saving throw to resist this effect, and a failed roll means that the character is shaken, frightened, or panicked.
Shaken: Characters who are shaken take a –2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
Frightened: Characters who are frightened are shaken, and in addition they flee from the source of their fear as quickly as they can. They can choose the paths of their flight. Other than that stipulation, once they are out of sight (or hearing) of the source of their fear, they can act as they want. If the duration of their fear continues, however, characters can be forced to flee if the source of their fear presents itself again. Characters unable to flee can fight
(though they are still shaken)
| GM RelicBlackOUT |
@Dalron because you are frightened you flee from the source, out of sight and what not of Xeron... I didn’t want to have you running away through the tomb so I had you hide behind the sarcophagi. What I will allow is having you hide behind the sarcophagi and firing at the Nagatha with a penalty because you are cramped with the lid and what not there.
Scarlet thrust his new bone short sword into the Nagatha, the creature turns its attention on you. It begins to raise its bony claws and viscous maw as if it is getting ready to pounce.
