Brrnabus did you get a chance to look over the scrolls?
We can take the holy symbol to the smith to ID what it is made from."

GM RelicBlackOUT |

Scarlet does a once over of the temple and there are no secret doors. Only one way in and out of this room.
Getting to the four way intersection you held north. This hall way is 10 ft wide and stretches north for 40 ft. Halfway down on the left side are a set of double doors. Scarlet can also see that at the end of the hallway on the right side are another set of double doors.

![]() |

Dalron gets in to a spot to be able to see the double doors at the far end of the hall on the right.
No need for the rats to sneak up behind us when we are going thru the first door.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet heads for the first double doors and listens for anything beyond and then checks to see if the door is locked.

Scarlet motions to the others that all is clear as far as he knows and waits for the others to gather around before opening the door.

GM RelicBlackOUT |

You open the door. The room appears to be empty. A beat up iron cauldron hangs over a fire pit in the northwest corner of the room, and the smell of a slow simmering stew fills the air. Water drips from a decrepit pipe in the west wall into an ancient stone cistern. A long, crude wooden table and several stools occupy the center of the room. Sacks of grain and piles of fur and leather fill the northeastern corner of the room. Doors in the north and west wall are closed.

Dalron whispers"Brunner you want to try out that new armor of yours? I have a bad feeling about this room, that something it going to jump out at us from one of the doors maybe. Everyone stay alert."
Dalron glances between the open room and the closed doors down the hall.

Turning to Scarlet, Brunner smiles, "It feels guid, scarlit, feels reit, if ye ken whit Ah pure techt." Tucking his old armor into the backpack and tying his old shield and hammer to it, Brunner follows Scarlet down the hallway clad in his fancy new ancient armor, with the familiar weight of a Dwarven Hammer in his hand.
I'm assuming that unless Scarlet or Dalron (for when were outside) is attempting stealth that Brunner stays on their hip.
Now
Staying close to the burglar, Brunner shield high, steps into the doorway eager to test the new ancient armor. Not seeing any immediate threats he moves carefully into the room. Nodding his head in agreement with Dalron, he whispers, "We shoods inspect thes room canny. Ah dornt want onie surprises left behin' us an' someain did try th' duir lest nicht."

Before taking off Barnabus takes a look over the scrolls. As he is about to break the seals he notices that there is a simple of Torag pressed into the wax. They are written in dwarven.
Excerpt: This passage through the singing stones must be safeguarded at all cost. Our state of vigilance must not waiver. That which lies beyond must forever remain separate and apart.
As the group enters the kitchen
Everyone is starting to come into the room. Seeing that the room is empty, Scarlet decides to look around for useful items. He begins looking through the only place where things may be. Beginning to look through the leather and furs and the sack of grain, Scarlet hears a squeak as a brown furred creature with a slender body bounds forth with a loping gate, mouth open wide and filled with dozens of sharp teeth launches towards Scarlet ready to bite. Scarlet, quick on his feet, takes a quick sidestep back causing this creature to miss.

"You will do no such thing. Torag might have meant for you to find that armor and hammer. I will not curb that in any way. It's just like how I don't expect any of you to reimburse me for our matching cloaks! It must be--"
Lanliss' words are cut off by a surprised shout as the small creature lurches out at Scarlet. The elf raises his bow and waits for an opening to shoot.

Brunner Hammerfell |
'what creature is this? Dropping to a low guard, Brunner follows the movement of the creature, watching it's timing. He swings his Dwarven-made hammer as it comes past the dodging Scarlet. "Watch it laddie, thaur's a giant rat efter ye."

Barnabus lets loose a powerful force missile that hits the creature. With a hit pitch screech it releases from Scarlet and topples to the ground. At the same time a goblin in a bakers hat and apron comes bursting from the west door with a meat cleaver in its hand and it charges towards Brunner. With a chop of a practice chef it strikes Brunner just above the knee taking 5 damage. Brunner does infact take a knee with this hit as it strikes a nerve and for a brief moment its leg from the knee down goes numb.

Almost in one fluid motion Dalrons arrow and Brunner’s hammer hit the goblin cook, and just as quickly as it charged out of the door way it flys back with an arrow in the chest and a hammer in the stomach.
Pausing for a moment, everything becomes still again in this kitchen.
Brunner, when I say things like he takes a knee or is pushed back or anything where I don’t do a CMB check, it is purely for flavor and you don’t need to use a move action to stand, step up, etc. I’m happy you are willing to do so, but it is not required.

As everyone steps into the room, Dalron closes the door most of the way so he can keep an eye on the other door and hall way.
"I will keep an eye out, if the rest of you want to look around. Oh, don't eat anything. It may not be what you think it is."

GM RelicBlackOUT |

With people taking watch and looking through this room, Barnabus and Scarlet find something in the nest if the creature. You find a molded belt pouch holding two potions.
Moving into what is safe to call a pantry you find all sorts of stuff. Most of the things in here have little value. Sacks of grain, bolts of cloth, bits of kindling, and all manner of items are stuffed into this storage area. You take sometime to sort things between what is useful and what is not. You find a bullseye lantern, 5 flask of oil, 10 tindertwigs, 2 vials of ink, 2 flask of acid, a magnifying glass, a masterworked flute, a small coin purse containing 22 gold, and a 50 ft length of silk rope.
Brunner putting his ear to the remaining door hears nothing but the dripping of water.
Be sure to track your HP in your top bars. I will be double checking my math here shortly.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet looks at the flasks of acid. He stores them, "Those both should prove useful."

Scarlet Blood |

"Perhaps the rest of you stay here while Brunner and I make a dash back to the holy fountain and take a sip before returning."
Scarlet looks at Brunner to see if he is up for it.

Lanliss Endarro |

"There's no good reason we should split up for so short a distance. If either group encountered another bugbear, it could be disastrous. Let's all five of us go to the chapel and then come back here."

Brunner Hammerfell |
'Teamwork, I knew there was a reason to like these lads, they think like dwarves.' Nodding his head in agreement, Brunner turns and begins trotting back to the fountain. "Skitin' frae th' foontain is a guid idea. stickin' together is tay. we'll aw gang thaur an' come reit back."
it is Brunner's intention to go drink from the fountain and come right back and open the door.

Scarlet trots after Brunner, taking a quick drink from the fountain before heading back with him.

You are back near the webbed up mine or you have the last room in the kitchen, or the last room on the north end of the four way interesection.

Scarlet Blood |

Looking at the fountain, Scarlet suddenly takes his waterskin and pours the water out of it before filling it with the fountain's healing water. "I want to see if the healing property of this water will work away from the fountain."
He then looks at the others, "I suggest we head back to the kitchen and finish exploring it before investigating the other set of doors further down the intersection."

Brunner Hammerfell |
'Lanliss is very logical, I know what he's thinking.' Making eye contact with Lanliss, Brunner nods at the unspoken answer to Scarlet's question. "Laddies, let's finish whit we started in th' scullery 'en open th' other doors."
He then marches to the kitchen hammer and shield in hand, he nods at the door on the north, ready for anything. "Gang aheid Scarlit, open th' duir waur ready."
