We don't want to try the silly salute?
Mr. Whiskers has Alter Self so he could become human and get in the suit.
Found it! Will be taking Battering Blast. Didn't have the correct book checked in HL.
GM Mort
Sorry all - was a little later then expected. Right. Lets get ta buizness.
Crummock - Dimitri is still down 5 wis drain and needs a restoration - unless you don't mind him running around with it.

Sorry all - I just spent the afternoon chasing my friend's kid through an indoor playground with small corridors. I may be small, but I don't have narrow frame(usually don't need it). I'm bushed and going to go to bed early.
Have a nice Zoo trip, Einar!
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
Thank you, we did. then went to this place. We were celebrating my mother-in-laws and son-in-laws birthday's, they were a week apart. She wanted to go to the zoo, he wanted to go to the restaurant, my wife wanted to go play with the grandbaby. They were all happy!
GM Mort
Yay! Why do you have such nice places to drink at...and I need drinking buddies. Its depressing when you're drinking stuff outside your house alone(can't bring alcohol in because parents would natter about me consuming an entire bottle at a go). Doesn't even matter that it's only 300ml. :(
It's like going to the movies alone...
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
paizo was off line all night, and the internet was screwy all night as well, didn't get anything done!
Mort how high is the ghost? Are the spectre's still in their chairs? can Einar shrink to normal size, go under the ghost, avoiding the AOO and attack the spectre in the south-western corner of the room?
Can he even get through the door being large?
GM Mort
Yes on going through doors large, if you want to shrink to avoid AOO, go ahead and spectres are on their chairs. Enjoy!
I know paizo was down for me yesterday too..
GM Mort
I know. Sorry for everyone who had to hear 2 days of my complaints. Also - where joo searching next?
Mr. Whiskers
Since combat with the ghost is over, best post this now.
Mr. Whiskers has Clairvoyance and Dimension Door today. He has those because he considered it likely we may want to find out what the sniper is. If we need to, I expect he can also get multiple people up to the sniper nest via Dimension Door.
I would like to get more information from the ghost before we start that conversation, but realize that things tend to jump fast while I'm asleep.
GM Mort
This Sat I am going to a convention to play 5e - so I'll probably go to bed early on Friday night, so I can get up super early Sat morning for my morning swim, then zip off to the con. Of course it'd mean minimal/no posts the whole of Sat...
GM Mort
5e tends to give more...liberty to the GM since its more rules lite. As such I often start going...where's my trip and where's my combat reflexes because it's not part of 5e. 5e beginners guide is also featless - you just level stats instead and there's a hard cap of 20 on the stat. It tries to make items found more unique and there isn't really the equivalent of the big 6 in 5e.
That being said, Polearm Master(if you're allowed to take that feat without providing the source) rox. There's some shenanigans to be done with tunnel fighter(from a splatbook) + polearm master + sentinel. You can really do the Gandalf thing and say "You shall not pass."
GM Mort
After this-you want to walk down the stairs or ddoor to where you came from? Once I get to office I'll bot Dmitri's full attacks.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
All around you - the flames are violet.
Einar notices that the flames are very hot, and wisps of smoke are beginning to rise from the violet flames.
Extreme heat on living characters entering the ground floor - Breathing air in these temperatures deals 1d6 points of fire damage per minute (no save).
In 10 rounds you'll get Smoke - A character who breathes heavy smoke must make a Fortitude save each round (DC 15, +1 per previous check) or spend that round choking and coughing. A character who chokes for 2 consecutive rounds takes 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. Smoke obscures vision, giving concealment (20% miss chance) to characters within it.
fire resistance still works though right?
Are we in combat rounds then?
GM Mort
Not yet and I'll wait for the 1 min before I stick you the fire damage. Fire resistance works.
Mr. Whiskers
If the group doesn't retreat, Mr. Whiskers will burn one of his scrolls of Resist Energy to survive. He will not do well when it comes to the inhalation checks though.
GM Mort
Yeah good point - gas mask up and you're good for smoke and the coughing business. But it does nothing for the extreme heat. Yeah I think I can move you lot downstairs since you won't be dying of smoke inhalation.
GM Mort
Perception checks – For a haunt – everyone must make perception checks to be able to act in the surprise round. Failure means you can't act. I did not roll Mr Whiskers's perception since he can't beat the DC. Since Crummock is the only person who was able to actually do something about the haunt, but failed to make the perception to act during the surprise round, the haunt manifested and that’s the result.
GM Mort
Crummock - since it's going to be a smackfest - please just roll your attacks in advance.
GM Mort
I did think about sniping you lot after the meladaemon fight with those Snipers but thought that would be too cruel...
GM Mort
Revolver, Nagant M1895
Range increment is 30 ft - I'm following author notes.
Base damage 1d8
x4 crit
You can load 7 bullets in at once.
Internal Magazine Firearms: Some firearms, such as modern shotguns, bolt-actions, lever-actions, and older styles such as revolvers, retain their ammunition internally, either through a permanently attached tube-feed magazine, an internal holding chamber, or a revolving cylinder, along with more archaic designs. Unless otherwise stated, it is a move action to load up to 6 rounds of ammunition into a one-handed or two-handed modern firearm of this nature.
*wonders where Crummock will be going to THIS time..*
Mr. Whiskers
I'm assuming it only took 5 minutes or less last time for Crummock to return. If it goes past that, let us know.
GM Mort
It may take longer then that. Planeshift has its issues too...
I apologize for not being able to respond quickly - I've been busy today :(
Mr. Whiskers
We will move on after 5-10 minutes.
Maybe Crummock will decide that Planeshift isn't the correct panic button.
Crummock-i-Phail
The problem is, as per the 'Panicked' description, you flee as fast as you can, including by using magic... which means, in my case, Plane Shift... :-/
(If it was just 'Fear', I would retain a modicum of rational thought, and I wouldn't have to do this...)
Mr. Whiskers
Casting a spell takes concentration. Doesn't sound like you are that panicked if you can cast a spell.
Getaway and Word of Recall just require a swift action or free action to activate -- the spell is already cast. That is something I would allow a panicked creature to do.
Crummock-i-Phail
A panicked creature must drop anything it holds and flee at top speed from the source of its fear, as well as any other dangers it encounters, along a random path. It can’t take any other actions. In addition, the creature takes a –2 penalty on all saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. If cornered, a panicked creature cowers and does not attack, typically using the total defense action in combat. A panicked creature can use special abilities, including spells, to flee; indeed, the creature must use such means if they are the only way to escape.
Panicked is a more extreme state of fear than shaken or frightened.
I feel it is fairly clear that you *would* use spells to flee (but not be able to do anything else).
Mr. Whiskers
Guess I should have checked the conditions before posting. I do note that it says can use spells, but only must use them if they are the only way to escape.
Crummock could have just as easily done a withdraw action against the goat.
---
I've got to go in a few minutes. Free RPG Day and I'm running We Be Goblins at one of the local stores.
GM Mort
Do it in any order you like. I just didn't want you guys running off to look for raise dead scrolls when there are ways not to eat into your WBL.
GM Mort
I'll attend to which way you want to go tomorrow, though I'd like an opinion on a to D9 or not to D9. I have no access to a comp and I'm feeling bushed after a long day.
GM Mort
I wanted to do this at a comp because some of the mechanics in this fight is kinda new to me as well...
Since Geist + Mr Whiskers + Crummock don't have combat reflexes (can't take AOO to begin with) - I thought it should be best if they just try to get out of the way instead.
Also - I don't think I'm running this fight to its full potential mainly because as a GM I'm unused to these creatures.
And Crummock said he wanted to investigate the gas, earlier Mr Whiskers also said he wanted to investigate the gas - so I hauled you to the gas.
GM Mort
I gave Einar movement botting instructions:
To 5ft step to avoid AOOs, and once he goes down, move 30 ft so they have line of sight to Dimitri.
I am on phone and it's tedious to manipulate minis.
Mr. Whiskers
I am totally confused as to what happened. Seems I got attacked once, was stuck, but took no damage?
Before I ever got a chance to act Einar went into the next battle and died?
I need to get some sleep, but hopefully someone can explain what happened.
GM Mort
You were engulfed. Since engulf works that you take damage on your turn, but the creature that engulfed you was dead by the time your turn came round, so you took no damage.
There were 2 sets of creatures-one the trench mist - which acted first, then the trench zombies. So trench mists attacked, took some AOOs, then were killed off by Dmitri, Crummock and Geist.
The trench zombies then acted - after Einar killed 2 of them, they shot and killed him.
Init order was trench mists, Einar, Crummock, trench zombies, Mr Whiskers
Mr. Whiskers
If you went gunslinger, you would want to use the mysterious stranger archetype so your grit was based on Charisma rather than Wisdom.
Doing so would delay getting the +4 Will saves you get with your next Bloodrager level.
What I would suggest is that your standard operating procedure include mirror image. You really need to start using your spells!
