It's okay, had rough day at work, brain is kinda cooky

![]() |

No problems. :)
My day was... not... straight forward either.

GM Redelia |

Hey guys,
I'm really enjoying this group, but after we finish the current level, I'm going to need to take a break from GMing the Spire. After OutPost I am going to be GMing a special, and I learned last time that takes up a lot of my GM bandwidth. I'd rather wait and have a good game with you guys than try to do too much and do a poor job.
I can offer you two solutions: either we can put the campaign on hold and I will contact you again after the special, or another of you can run one level while I take a break. I have some options for a character I can play for the one level another of you runs, if we go that route.
Let me know what you think. I'm bringing this up now, while we still have a while on this level, so we have plenty of time to discuss what we will do.

![]() |

I'm good with pausing. I know my bandwidth is running high right now. If we were moving into level 5 I would have been happy to take over, having played it in Core. But I'm just as happy waiting.

![]() |

I'm fine with taking a break if someone doesn't decide they want to pick it up.
Personally, I won't be taking the mantel as I am high on my GM bandwidth as well. With outpost wrapping up, I'm going to enjoy the downtime (short lived as it may be) before I start GMing the special.
I would still play if someone else picked it up.

![]() |

I can wait. I don't need Pig in anything anyhow.
My GM dance card is full, though, and I don't own Emerald Spire. :)

![]() |

A bit of a breather would be welcome.
My posting quality and characterization has gone to crap lately, in part due to playing an unofficial run through Crypt of the Everflame, two ACG games, a Special table, a Starfinder table, and a Standard table scenario (that Yroh's player has been running *since September* -- it's all of our faults at the table that it's running 'slow').
Just as long as we regroup with the Fleet at the rendezvous point and don't decide to do 'side quests' into swampy worlds or gas mining stations, I'm very happy to have a sanity pause.

Better to see the concern well in advance and take steps to address it, than dive full on in and not realize it until a half-dozen threads are going and one shuts down under that sort of pressure.
...I've *worn* that T-shirt.

![]() |

Gentlemen... I present... The Disco'sune

![]() |

...I'm glad it wasn't just me having a hard time seeing Raga's token. It's been a bit of a challenge during each run (but particularly this one) to see her against the backdrop.
I guess she's got a hidden Stealth talent?

![]() |

I was too, but I assumed it was because I'm colorblind. lol

![]() |

Posting will be slower this weekend, have convention I'm GMing at. Sorry for late notice.

GM Redelia |

It looks like everyone gave me chronicle info in this thread. Are any of you going to get extra prestige from the land rush thing on this chronicle? That's the only one I really need to know to fill out your chronicle properly.
Also, any faction missions or anything we should discuss while I'm doing chronicles?

![]() |

"The snows had no tasks for me to perform on this floor..."
And it looks like all my stuff is good to go. :D

GM Redelia |

On another topic, are any of you interested in being a goblin or kobold? I have a table (right now non-PFS, will convert to campaign mode if AP is sanctioned) of goblins and kobolds working through the Ironfang Invasion. Right now they're in book 2 and level 7. They all are of good alignment and had to give me an interesting story about how they got that way. We just lost a player.

SINCE this closed up, I may have a character but it may be a bit of a stretch.
Kobold draconic sorcerer/dragon disciple. Will provide a bit more than that if that fits the niche vacated by leaving player.

Redelia, were you in for Treacherous Waves, Bronze House, or both?

![]() |

My land grab won't increase prestige gained on this chronicle.
That's very, very tempting Redelia, but I think I should wait until after the Special. Being my first special as a GM, I'm not sure how it'll affect my bandwidth.

![]() |

TOZ, they're both very tempting, but I am also GMing the special, so I shouldn't take on too many games. I think I'd rather do Treacherous Waves, and bring my sweet, gentle little grippli who licks people to heal them.
That....sounds....AMAZING!

![]() |

Raga, gank the boss already so we can get Treacherous Waves going. :P

![]() |

...I saw what they did to the eidolon and one of our front-liners, I'ma not walking into that meatgrinder until I'm goshdarnsure I'm not seen.

![]() |

Bah, whiner.

![]() |

I'd accept that for pretty much any of my other characters, but Karasuma has had to *do* that 'walk into the meatgrinder' thing in the past because his 'ever so helpful' team-mates were all 'playing dead' rather than dealing with the threat, and he'd rather not repeat that experience.
Hunter: Pet goes down "I play dead"
Summoner: Pet goes down "I play dead"
Frontliner: Gets scratched "I play dead"
Bard: Gets brutalized.
Healer: "I play dead"
Karasuma: "WTF!!"

![]() |

That sounds 'fun'. I'm sure you'll be fine this time...

![]() |

There's a valid in-character reason why Karasuma is a Shadowdancer, and that encounter is it.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I mean, what are the odds of me rolling another crit with- *checks stats* oh wait, 18-20, pretty good odds.

![]() |

Just a reminder from the data post: Pig's land purchase regains 2 expended PP (no fame increase).

GM Redelia |

And chronicles just went out. Let me know if you don't get yours or there are any problems.
I will be closing down this thread in about a day.
I will contact you guys by PM when the special is over and I have a thread to dot into to start back up. I may take a week or two break in between. Please poke me in early July if I have not contacted you.

Thank you very much for the chronicle and for running and... Emerald Spire is a very interesting place.
It's not quite like any other module or dungeon I've been through...
Also, thank you very much for handling our non-death-vagrant ways in a reasonable fashion. Some may argue that it's against the spirit of 'dungeon crawls', but personally the tradition of groups I've been with have been to *friend everyone* in the past.
So much so, that one GM I had at one point needed to say point-blank "No, the Anti-paladin and the lich cleric do not want to be your friends and they just want you dead for getting in their way. No attempts at Diplomacy will work against them, don't even try it no matter how good you are."
Of course, we tried it.
For one round.
After the second Finger of Death we got to work.

![]() |

Got it! Thanks as always for guiding us through the depths of the scenario Redelia. Always enjoy playing under you. ;-)
My F2F group has been running this lately (my work days prevent me from joining them 2x per month) and they have had a near TPK on levels 1 and 2 so far. Me thinks they should rethink their tactics...
I look forward to seeing you after the special!
