Are we gearing up with 3000gp? Plate mail is expensive but worth it! Barding can be too and I'll probably not want to do the cheesy four mirror chain trick but settle for chain barding at 800gp.

Made one last change to his equipment load out. He now has a regular short sword in addition to all the other stuff he's got. He also has a grand total of 9 gold pieces left over. I hope nobody was expecting him to buy them lunch. :-)

This should be my last gear change. I was going through the "Ultimate Equipment" section of the PRD when I found something that just made so much sense I decided Line had to have it. So I sold off the masterwork dagger and regular short sword, getting a masterwork Gladius in their place. It is a light martial weapon that is basically a dagger scaled up to do 1d6 damage and useable with any feats or abilities that apply to a standard shortsword. Line now has 6 gold pieces left over and with that should be ready to start the game.

Perhaps should talk about wizards and such here instead of gameplay. Seems a bit strange to be talking metagame in character or maybe it's just me.

Not necessarily. Quite a few of the characters are experienced in such matters (3rd level after all) and would have definite ideas about optimum party composition and such.

As an experienced fighter, I thought pointing out a weakness in our party composition was done in character well. I do not think I even used the word wizard. Anyway, I think we can do without any arcane caster, though level 2 spells like web could make life a lot easier!!
Dm, I am curious if our standard action heals count as magical healing for the purposes of Gimlet's fey foundling feat. I can see it going either way and have no strong feelings about it.
I spent 750gp on a fully charged wand. If partially wands are available, I would buy two half charged wands of different types.
Yea not having a wizard might hurt a lot but we will have to wait and see. Sure it can count towards magical healing. Partially wands are available if you would like. This is a very prosperous town gold and items are not as important as in other places. You guys are able to have npc join you in these quests but being able to convince one to travel with you or pay them enough to travel with you might be a different story.

We have a nice set of healing I reckon. I have the fey foundling feat also. I have a CLW wand for backup too. I will have high UMD too so any wizard scrolls or whatnot we find we should have good chance to use if we need.

I use normal spreadsheets in googledocs as maptools caused me all sorts of problems with the latest java version. Whatever you decide I am sure will be fine.

if I remember correctly he ties to the positive energy plane so he can be healed.

Yep, same healing magics, potions and skills that work on everybody else work on me. Somewhat different from an actual Eberron Warforged in that respect. Line will also heal naturally as well.

As I commented in character earlier, we will likely have to end up searching most if not all spots anyway, so the exact order may not matter. However, from the dreaded "metagame" perspective, it might be a good idea to hit as many of the outlying spots as we can before we hit the dungeon. That way we would be likely to have more information and resources available to us when we went for the big time. Granted that Line had argued for a different order to hit the spots in earlier, but I figured it would be in character for him to suggest the most "efficient" approach. But that approach might not be the best and that's why I didn't have him push for it that hard.

I'm all for treasure. And I'm actually betting the main pirate base is probably out on that island. I only responded the best way I thought Andiel would respond IC. Gimlet's reason does actually make sense. They could have been anywhere, the elf didn't give use much help with that part.

I missed that Andiel kept her healing undisclosed when we were discussing our capabilities.
As a do-gooder, Gimlet wants to expunge all the trouble spots there is starting with those closest to the town.
This is one of the tankiest parties I have seen. Gary Gygax would be proud. He usually advocated half fighter types (or full BAB types now) for his adventures. Our 3/4 bab types can bring it too!

Yea lol. 1000... That's going to take a while. Though I guess 50 a day is definitely achievable. 100 on a big day. So perhaps not that long after all. I actually wish it was maximised on me and not you guys since I'll be linked to you guys as much as possible, healing myself is going to be alot of the healing I do with channel going out when everyone needs it. So it's not that amazing really now that I think about it. But still worth it.
If you qualify for it I don't see why not looks fun if you can ever get to that point.

In my campaign tab I have a link to the map in the short campaign description so it is at the top of every page. In the campaign long tab, I have an initiative for the party with a generic enemy I can modify like so.

If you check my discussion thread--I even have a running total of XP I post occasionally. You can see my combat map is a simple googledocs spreadsheet that maps the entire dungeon complex.
Anyway, feel free to do things how you like. I am just passing on what I have evolved to after two years of DMing PbP and I followed my mentor, DM Blood. He uses fancy maps with tokens, but I had Java problems with maptools.
