Anna considers if she'd ever heard the Professor discuss or describe such a symbol.

Then she goes through the treasure, looting the bodies and the temple. If the amulets of natural armor are better than the one she's wearing (+1), she snags one and pulls it around her neck. As a lark, she puts on the silver tiara and looks to Tolvan for approval.

"Well, I guess we're sure they weren't Gozrans. But I'm still not sure what they really were."

If there's nothing left to loot in these rooms, she checks for additional places to explore in this temple, and checks for traps before entering any new chambers.

Its certainly not Gozreh but I've never seen anything like it. Couple it with the ring of swimming and am confident its some watery deity; likely some cult deity. Hmm. They eye reminds me of that fish sculpture yweou found in the stable master's house. Kimberly, what do you think?

Tolvan claims one of the amulets for himself and puts it on. Someone should take the ring of swimming. I have a funny feeling that we will have to get wet before all this is over.. He smiles at Anna wearing the slightly gaudy tiara and says You can make anything look good Anna.

Continuing to help collect anything valuable Tolvan notes This was a considerable defense for a simple church. I am curious as to what else we might find here.

The amulet of natural armor are all of +1.

The south room is a dormitory containing three beds. Inside you find two small desks, a chest, table, and bookshelf. The chest is full of chasubles and other religious paraphernalia. The bookshelf holds tomes dealing with fishing, tides, lake and sea life, and a single dusty copy of Gozreh’s holy book, Hymns to the Wind and the Waves, which has obviously seen little use.

The other room to the north is quite different. Lavishly furnished, this chamber obviously houses a person of high station. A large desk and plush chair stand next to the south wall, across from an opulent bed against the north wall between two windows. The other furnishings in the room, including a large sea chest in one corner, are clearly of good quality, though an unpleasant fishy smell hangs in the air, particularly near the bed.

Next to the chest you see a number of empty and broken glass bottles, some with still a bit of liquid remaining in their bottoms or spilled upon the floor.

The chest contains two elixirs of swimming, two potions of water breathing in brass vials, and a fish boat feather token (functions as a swan boat feather token, but the boat takes the form of a giant fish). In addition, the chest contains three disturbing statuettes depicting a bizarre tentacled beast, a vaguely humanoid thing with ichthyic and batrachian features, and a crouching humanoid figure with an octopoid head and dragon wings.

The liquid and the broken glass bottles seem to be the remains of some potions of cure light wounds. Someone or something was in bad need of healing not so long ago, judging by how still wet the floor is.

Still standing in the doorway, Ananias doesn't hear any noise at all, letting him think that they might be the only people still alive in the temple.

"Anyone feel like going for a swim?" Anna asks dryly as she goes through the treasures within the chest.

She makes a face at the three statuettes, until her eyes fall on the one with the octopoid head. "Hey! This, this might be the Sausage Effigy! Or was it See-saw? Something like that. But this fits the description that the museum curator gave us!" She holds it up triumphantly, then sets it down, scowling at it.

"Dammit. I was hoping we find this, we find the Whisperers and the stolen ghost and the werewolf heart and then we'd be done with all this."

The memory of their shared vision from the top of the Stairs of the Moon comes to her. She looks at the other statue, the one with the tentacles. Holding it up in trembling hands, she studies it to see if it matches the thing they were fighting in their vision.

Opening the door, you see a disturbing sight, but at least there is no corpse in this one. The chamber is decorated floor to ceiling with disturbing carvings of devilfish, krakens, octopuses, squid, and other bizarre sea life, as well as unsettling depictions of human women mating with strange fish-men from the sea. At the far end of the room, a semicircular pool of water stands before a large bloodstained altar. On the wall above the altar, a carving of a giant, unwinking octopoid eye gazes over the room, surrounded by sinister twisting runes. There is a door on the opposite side from where you are.

Anna makes a different kind of disgusted face. "Okay, gross. That-- ew. No." She turns away from the door. "We should keep Kimberly away from that room. She's too young."

Making a "be my guest" motion, she gestures to Danica and Tolvan. "Weird altar to that octopus eye. Disturbing."

Stepping into the room, Ananias tries his best not to react to the strangeness of the sexual depravity depicted in the carvings. "What... what even is this?!? What are they about?"

He does his best to push the nature of the carvings away, though, as he examines them and the rest of the room for anything... mechanically unusual.

Danica enters the room with Ananias, sword in hand. She stare at the depictions of human women having intercourse with the fish-men. "Whatever floats their boat."
She then begins to scan the room, taking her time, for anything out of the ordinary.
Taking 10 on perception. Perc = 28

She also casts Detect Magic on the items within the room, especially the pool and alter.

Once Tolvan and the others are inside, Anna feels a bit braver and slips inside and starts inspecting the altar for hidden caches of treasure. For some reason, there's always something hidden at the altar.

Why is that gross? You didn't watch the shape of water? That was romantic... right? ;)

Inspecting the room, you find no treasures or magical auras. You do find that the entire western wall can be pushed out of the way, combining the main room with this one, creating a larger chapel.

Still 3 doors left to inspect.

By "Inspecting the room" can we assume that one of us went to the alter, jumping over that semicircular pool surrounding the alter?"

"This is were a big monster comes out of the pool and attacks us." Danica jokingly makes a comment trying to get her friends prepared for a possible encounter. She then casts a Light spell on the tip of one of her arrows and sticks it in the pool, moving the tip around in the water. She hopes that the light will illuminate the darkness underneath the still waters.
