Anna's bolt enters the Dorzhanev's back, and he howls in agony. He looks down for a second at the bloody tip protruding from his chest, then falls dead.

ROUND TWO: Anna went, rest of group A goes, then weres, then Tolvan. Bless is up for everyone, Tolvan has a clear shot - map is updated.

Anna you also have a height advantage, that stairs you are on is the one going to eventually wrap around the tower. This means they do not get cover.

"Okay, sure," Anna says breathlessly as she sets the big crossbow down and prepares to jump down into the fray.

Need to get into flanking, since otherwise no sneak attack for another round.


Oathar swings and misses while Anna and Kimberly prepare to get Anna stuck in to the melee.

Anna, you can jump down to the floor level easily enough and engage the werewolf behind Danica.

Danica strikes the wounded werewolf in front of Oathar and kills it with a sharp blow to the head. Now there are two, both surrounding Danica. Seeing two of their number down, they shift into wolf form, and make a break for the stairs where Kimberly and Anna are perched!

Oathar and Danica, you each get an AoO: AC 17. There are two, so pick one. Anna/Kimberly, they are coming straight at you, and reach the bottom of the stairs this turn.

Tolvan fires at the wolf he thinks is the most wounded before moving for the stairs. He uses his dimensional shift to try to jump past the wolves, even if that means putting himself in their path. He does not want them getting to Anna or up the stairs.

Going to move Tolvan up the stairs then, he can't prevent the werewolves from reaching Anna and Kim because they went first and moved already.

Danica strikes a wolf, the silver nunchaku impacting with a resounding 'crack'. Tolvan shoots the wounded werewolf in the back, killing it, then dimensionally shifts further up the stairs.

ROUND THREE: Anna, Kim, Danica, Oathar; last were; Tolvan. Map will be updated (again) later, but the situation is as follows: one werewolf remains at the bottom of the steps. She is looking up at Kim and Anna, with Tolvan even further along on the stair. Behind her are Danica and Oathar.

Anna makes a move to wipe the blood off her knife on the pelt of the wolf, but freezes as she sees it slowly reshaping. She watches in sick fascination until it is human, then she takes a scared look at Tolvan.

Before he can say anything, Anna wipes the blood on her thigh and collects her crossbow. "We better get moving," is all she says, and heads to the base of the tower. After stowing her dagger and loading a fresh bolt, she slings the crossbow over her back and begins to climb the side of,the tower using the spider climb magic still upon her.

Agreed. Each of these weres have silver bolts if anyone needs them. Tolvan notes as he shoulders his bow and begins to climb the stairs. Note Spider Climb is active on him as well. And he will let Oathar take the lead again if he desires to do so.

The spiral stairs rise steeply, coiling around the tower’s exterior. A scant three feet wide, in many places the stairs have been left worn and dangerously crumbling from weathering.

Using the magic to allow her to cling effortlessly on the side of the tower, Anna ignores the stairs entirely. She softly creeps up the edifice, crossing over the stairs as they wind up and around the tower. When she reaches the row of windows, she carefully peeks through into the chamber.

There are 5 werewolves lying in wait at the top of the stairs, just beyond line of sight of anyone climbing them. They are not Dorzhanevs, however. These appear to be Silverhides - Matthius Mordrinacht's clan.

Whelp, looks like Anna's going a bit off the rails. We'll see if she survives.

Crap crap crap. Which ones were these guys? Ohh, yeah. The ones who allied with freakin' Estovion. Time to say hello, Anna thinks as she glances down once to calculate when the others would reach her level. When she estimates they're only a couple rounds away, she activates the magic on her ring and slips up into the room and draws a bead on the rearmost werewolf with her crossbow.

Stealth: 1d20 + 19 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 19 + 20 = 55

Then she sends the bolt into its skull.
Ranged, invis, pbs vs flat-footed: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 32
Damage: 1d10 + 2 + 4d6 ⇒ (9) + 2 + (3, 4, 5, 5) = 28
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 + 1 = 26

Sandals give me an extra move action during the surprise round, so I'll move into melee with the one I just shot (if he's still standing) or to the next nearest while drawing my dagger.

Kimberly remained with Anna, but did not show herself. she wanted to be sure Anna stayed safe, and alive.

She tries to cast Sanctuary on herself from out of sight, on the side of the wall. she wants to be a quiet as she can while casting. (perhaps taking advantage of the noise of Anna's attack to drown out her own casting.

this will help the were's believe that Anna is alone

Map is up under 'Skychamber'. This one is a little hard to follow because of the rings of stairs, but: Anna is in the Skychamber. Kimberly is at the floor level of the Skychamber, just on the other side of the wall. The rest are still climbing, approx 80' around from the entrance at C6. You 3 are on the stair, so NOTE: any movement other than a normal move is going to take a DC 15 Climb check or you are going to fall! It's a long drop. Tolvan has Spider Climb, this does not apply to him. Hint, hint!

I note Anna rolled her own Init. We can do that, but it slows things down. However, if you are tired of my poor rolls for you (Tolvan :)), you can roll and post your first actions.

And I need to know if Tolvan can climb up to the window of the skychamber in a single move? If not can he climb and use his Dimensional Shift ability to get into the window in a single move?

Didn't realize there was a protocol for initiative. I just figured that since I was starting combat this time (instead of us always being attacked) that I should roll.

Anna follows up on her surprise attack with a strike on the one she hit with the bolt.

Anna's dagger slides up under the chin of the wounded werewolf, the blade entering her brain through the roof of her mouth. With a whimper the were dies.

Oathar climbs the treacherous stair along with Danica I didn't get an action from you, Danica., doing their best not to fall the 90' to the forest floor.

Tolvan skitters up the side of the tower, shifting the last five feet and casting his spell.

The Silverhides are caught in the writhing tentacles of the spell, and howl in fury as they are crushed in their grip. Only one manages to break free enough to bite Anna. In a rage, the werewolf ranger jaws lock on Anna's shoulder, fangs nearly meeting together in her flesh. Then with a jerk of it's powerful neck, the beast tears free, sending blood spattering over the menhir stones. -20 points on the Crit, Anna. The force of the bite nearly knocks her over, but Anna's natural dexterity keeps her on her feet.

Tolvan, I went with your first option. Danica, I'm not sure if you were waiting for Tolvan's move, but I have you going with Oathar for now. Kimberly finishes up ROUND 1. Map will be updated tonite.

Kim, peering out from her cover, sees the creature tear into Anna.

Dang, that isn't good she whispers.

trying to hurry and relying on her magic to protect her, Kimberly rushes to Anna's aid.

not sure if Kimberly can get there and cast a cure, or she will have to wait. She is relying on her sanctuary spell to protect her from getting attacked.

if she can reach and cast:

Kimberly hurries to Anna's side, avoiding getting close to the creature trying to make a meal of her.

Kimberly rushes over behind Anna and partially heals Anna's grievous wound.

ROUND 2: Anna, Oathar, Danica, Tolvan. Map is updated. NOTE: the grey area is the Black Tentacles spell, enter at your own risk. Oathar and Danica are OUTSIDE on the top 'ring' of steps. To continue around to the opening at C6 will take you into Tolvan's spell. From where you are right now, you could ty to climb up onto the floor of Skychamber. It will be a DC 12 Climb check, one person can assist one other to get up for a +4 to the check, but the assisting person will be down on the stair. You are 'boosting' them, so to speak.

Looks like you have the radius of the tentacles slightly too large GM. Should be 40' feet across, I count 45'. And each end should be 10' wide where you have it 15'.

with a prayer to Pharasma, three replicas of Tolvan's sword appear hovering in front of Kimberly as though they were pulled from extra dimensional plane.

well that spell actually sounded better when you read it than its actual use. to bad the created swords do not gain the same magical properties of the original. then that would be great

With her earlier feint, she had the werewolf right where she wanted it. She plants her foot, ducks under a swipe of a claw, pivots, then drives her dagger deep under its outstretched arm.

Kimberly's healing had staunched the bleeding and dulled the pain from her earlier bite, but she still felt it in her shoulder. A crazed part of her welcomed it, as a form of penance for attacking and biting Tolvan. She danced around the werewolf with a mad grin on her face, her mithril dagger weaving a silver track through the air.

Hmm. CBD to break the grapple is 10+ my caster level of 7 + 4 (strength) +1 (size) for a total of 22. With your rolls above only one will break free, right?

You are correct sir. I was staring right at the +10 and didn't add it in. Assume the one by Oathar is the one that broke free. Will update.
