GM:
just realized I don't have a campaign trait...
Shoanti Tribesman is a Varisian regional trait though
is that sufficient?
if not, I can swap out Forlorn for Exile

I'm new to play by post and I would like to play a human barbarian (Shoanti). Will post stats and background later.

Redclover here, my idea changed to a dwarven two weapon warrior dealing out damage with twin warhammers. Here's a bare bones profile, i'll finish up the crunch and get together a backstory.

Definately interested, have been waiting to find a Rotrl game for ages so i will be submitting a palading to the group. Im thinking either a dual wield or a tanking one (sacred shield awsomeness), which would you prefer GM?

I am working on the background. Here is the alias but nothing is there as of yet. I will update him soon and will post when I am done with the background.

Grand Lodge

Aroach1188 here. I updated Volke, including background. Your typical rogue character, stealth, perception and disable device. In combat, will focus on flanking to get sneak attack with TWF.

It is with great pleasure that I now present: Xogar. A half-orc paladin redeemer/warrior of the holy light.

DM Mathpro, would you be so kind as to look over my character and tell me what you think? I had a sudden burst of inspiration and put it all to paper and this is what I came up with for a background. I am very fond of it. The crunch is also done too.

I would like to post an Aasimar Inquisitor of Desna with the Liberation Domain. If that race is not okay then I will fall back to a Halfling. I'll have a profile by morning!

Here he is. A rather gem of a man. Thanks for looking! I'll have traits and gear etc tomorrow some time.

I humbly submit my character for approval - Wulfric Redhammer, totem warrior and aspiring giant killer from the Shundar-Quah tribe.

A bit late to the party, but I would like to submit my Varisian Rogue, Zelladania. She is a fairly standard, core-rulebook rogue concept that was created for another Rise of the Runlord campaign that didn't last through the festival, so I hope you don't mind that I reuse the character. She is mostly complete under this alias, I just need to rework her background and few mechanics to match your requirements.

Here's Wulfric's background.

I also forgot to add to his stats that he knows how to speak shoanti.

:

Appearance:
Wulfric is 6’ tall and weighs close to 200lbs. He has tanned skin and like most of his people considers a full head of hair a weakness in combat. The right part of his face bears a tatoo which according to tribal shamans makes his eyes sharper and hardens his bodys resistance (eyes of a hawk... and all that good stuff).

Background:
To be recognized as an adult in wulfric’s tribe,a youth must pass a rite of passage where he has to make a pilgrimage to the 5 ancient thassilonian monoliths near his village. After reaching the 5th monolith, wulfric encountered an old shaonti warrior bearing a gigantic hammer almost twice his height. The old warrior has been tracking a group of hill giants for the past 4 days... and based from their tracks these giants were headed for wulfrics village.

The giants have already left the village, killing almost all of the villagers, when wulfric and the old man arrived. The survivors informed them that the giants killed the tribe’s shaman after taking an ancient stone tablet from him. Due to the devastation caused by the giants to the village. The old man, who was called “Storm Forger” decided to stay and help protect the survivors. It was during this time that Wulfric aswell as a handful of the other youths in the tribe learned the ways of the titan mauler from him.

After a year, the village has almost recovered from the giant attack and Storm Forger decided that it was time to leave. But before he left he bestowed on each of his students their full names, Wulfric became “Red Hammer”. It was around this time that wulfric learned that the stone tablet stolen by the giants bear the location of several ancient “wells” of power. Packing his weapons and gear, Wulfric started his journey to one of those locations... a small town called Sandpoint.

Hey again, i changed my mind with the paladin and decided to submit an Ifrit bard (so still able to be party face) instead, dont worry i will write up a BG that blows you away and makes it ok for him to be there.

So submitting this guy

So far the crunch is done, i will make the BG later or tomorrow.

(forgot the max cash rule, so might add some extra gear. Also havent chosen any starting traits)

Interested in joining.
Viviana could serve as healer, support fighter and diplomat.

Very interested in playing a dwarf cleric of Torag. This is Dorrak who was created for a rotrl campaign that ended before we were too far along. I might need to adjust stats and gear and may also change up his background a bit.

If this campaign needs more brawn I've also been playing with a ranger and fighter builds for a giant hunter type. If those seem more suitable I can post them up for consideration.

I'm tossing my hat into the ring. I'll have something up in a little while.

It is late and I have work in less than 7 hours, so I'll have to do the description and background later, but I give you Elarya Whitescale, front-liner and go to person to have your gear fixed outside town.

Well I've finished most everything but had some questions about campaign traits that I would like to ask about later :)

Sorry I haven't posted all weekend. My pregnant ex decided to stop in for the weekend...

Looks great. I like how you used the alternate race traits to make him a different kind of elf and it looks like he could be fun to see develop.

Thanks for switching classes later. I am rather fond of the paladin that’s already been sumbited.

You're the Paladin I was talking in my above comment. I really like this character and really look forward to seeing it develop if I end up choosing him. Not to be unfair to the others but...I'm leaning your way for a spot in the party.

I will be back on my regular schedule until Friday when I'm leaving for a wedding so...just a heads up for those that do get selected on Wednesday we'll probably start Thursday and then have things slow during the weekend.

Hm, can't seem to find what I'm missing to make Vin incomplete on my sheet here. Thoughts?

Spoiler:

Appearance:
Obviously short and slight, Vin has hair literally the color of gold, and bright sapphire eyes. His skin is pale with a slight warm tone to it. Unlike most gnomes, he dresses simply in drab olives and browns; his clothing is obviously more for comfort in the wilderness than for show. Pouches and pockets are scattered throughout his wardrobe, containing various inks, pens, notebooks, whittling knives and materials. He fidgets restlessly and speaks quickly, and seems to have a keen interest in most anything around him.
Background:
Like many gnomes, Vinderbenjin (Vin to his friends) keenly feels his hereditary connection to the First World. His curious and risky nature leads him to continually push the limits of the magic he has inherited through his bloodline.

Vin is goodhearted, and he tends to avoid many of the 'pranks' his kin play on the larger races; his wanderlust has led him to associate with many other peoples throughout Varisia, and although he is by no means serious, he prefers to get along with people larger and stronger than he.

When he was an adolescent, Vin was the victim of a strange, wasting illness. The sickness left him physically weak, though he does not generally fall prey to other maladies. However, he often has trouble with his physical strength and prefers to avoid serious manual labor or heavy tasks.

Vin's curosity has long included Thessalonia, and when he is not whittling or practicing spellcasting, his nose is buried in a history book. Much of his wanderlust is fueled by a desire to see Thessalonian ruins, as he feels there much be some connection between ancient Thessalonia and the First World. He has come to Sandpoint to rest and re-equip, not realizing he is about to be swept up into events that might sate even his curiosity . . .

Maestro of the Society: +3 Rounds of Bardic Performance

Class
Weapon & Armor Proficiencies: Pronto is proficient with all simple weapons, plus the longsword, rapier, sap, shortsword, shortbow, and whip. He is also proficient with light armor and shields (except tower shields). Pronto can cast bard spells while wearing light armor and using a shield without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance.

Bardic Knowledge: Pronto adds half his class level (minimum 1) to all Knowledge skill checks and may make all Knowledge skill checks untrained.

Archaeologist's Luck (Ex): Fortune favors the archaeologist. As a swift action, Pronto can call on fortune’s favor, giving him a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls. He can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Charisma modifier. Maintaining this bonus is a free action, but it ends immediately if he is killed, paralyzed, stunned, knocked unconscious, or otherwise prevented from taking a free action to maintain it each round. Archaeologist’s luck is treated as bardic performance for the purposes of feats, abilities, effects, and the like that affect bardic performance. Like bardic performance, it cannot be maintained at the same time as other performance abilities. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 11th level, and +4 at 17th level.

Two means which might help you not lose typed info: use firefox and get the lazarus addon. Or, type the background into notepad, word, or other program and then copy it over when you are done. This is how I keep from losing info. That and when I come up with something awesome I hate trying to recreate it.

Just some friendly tips from someone who had his posts eaten too.

I had gotten pretty good about copying before hitting preview or save, but I've not been on in about a month and a half and I wasn't quite quick enough to hit ctrl+a and ctrl+c in time. Oh well, I'll just retype it when I get home, the important bits are there, plus there's the background on the clan in my main profile that helps flesh Elarya out.

Thanks for the plugin, I'll have to see if there's a chrome version, but I'll definitely check it out.

I just checked and Chrome has this extension too. It is really cool so even if the browser crashes it still saves it.

I have had where I lost a lot of info while typing up a background. So instead of trying to remember it recovered it for me.

Hey guys something came up and I won't be able to get online until after 1:30 CST tomorrow. Just giving you a heads up that the recruitment thread will be closing at 1:30 CST tomorrow and I hope to have my selections made by 2:30 CST tomorrow.

Hey Mathpro, I sent you a PM and when it looked like it didn't go through I went and sent it again. Then the first one shows up in my sent box now. Grr. So you will be getting two PM's. Oh well.

Wow. HUGE numbers of players.

Yeah, looks like DM Mathpro has quite the selection to look through and chose from. This must be a popular AP.

I know, cant wait...

A little light on arcane types. Anyone wanting to get in might have a better chance if they go arcane.

Yay! I finally got Mazranna finished ^^ so she's ready for review if you would like

Shadow Lodge

Background for Pronto is up!

Pronto Background:
Pronto was born in the friendly village of Nybor, unique in its acceptance of half-breeds His parents, both half-orcs, did not want their son to be limited by the expectations placed upon all half-orcs. They worked themselves into an early grave to afford a tudor to educate their son in academics. The ancient kingdom of Thassilon would be the focus of most of his studies.

The private lessons ended after his parent's funeral. Seeking the next step in his education he sets out to Absalom to join the Pathfinder Society. And gain access to their extensive records. He travelled with a Varisian caravan to Korvosa where he arranged for passage by sea to the Absalom. The journey opened his eyes to how people in the world viewed half-orcs. It wasn't until then that he understood his parents.

Upon landing at Absalom Pronto headed directly to the Grand Lodge. He completed the application process with ease, and was made an initiate of the society. For three long years he toiled between those walls. After the third year came the final test of Confirmation, one last hurdle before becoming an official pathfinder. Nothing could stand in his way, so he thought. He was assigned to infiltrate and chronicle Chorak's Tomb located on a tiny island in Lake Skotha in Varisia. An easy enough task, except that anyone who approaches the island is swiftly destroyed by boulders or rune carved ballista bolts.

Pronto bartered passage for a ship bound for Magnimar. Then travels along the coast to a little village called Sandpoint. He decided to stay a few days as they seemed to be preparing for some grand affair. What could go wrong?

Okay guys well I have made my selections.

Will the following people join me in the discussion thread once I get it up:
Vinderbenjin Tumbeltossel
Mazranna
Viviana
Jerome
Xogar

Everyone else who applied thank you for the time you put in and it was a very hard decision to make.

EDIT: Discussion thread has been created

Grats all, you'll have fun. DM Mathpro if you have time I'd appreciate any feed back on Thandion so I can improve any future applications.

Unfortunatly our oracle of bones has disappeared so we are now looking for someone to fill her place. Build requirements can be found on the first page of this post. The party has requested a rogish type individual. Lets see what people can come up with by the weekend.

We haven't really gotten this off the ground so who ever makes the cut didn't miss much...just a little NPC interaction.

I'll toss in my Varisian rogue for consideration that I've been trying to get into a RotR game.

Sczarni

any chance you would consider Zella's "BFF"? or maybe bodyguard?

I'll toss in my Korvosan western-themed ninja, Evan Fallbrook. All the crunch/background stuff is in the profile.

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Presenting Edrebertil (Bert) Blackwillow, halfling archaeologist bard. I'll set up a profile for him, fill in the rest of his background, and purchase equipment for him if picked. Let me know if you have any questions.

Background:
As a young halfling growing up in Sandpoint, Bert's cleverness and outgoing nature seemed to make him a natural for a bardic career, and his family sent him off to apprentice at an informal bard's college in Magnimar. Unfortunately, he really didn't care much for music of any sort, even the common party songs of his people. He was definitely interested in bardic knowledge, and his grasp of the arcane side of the field was not lacking, but when it came time to practice music he couldn't be bothered to keep his mind on the task. He would borrow books on history from the library and smuggle them into classes, he'd skive off practicing, and (worst of all, from his family's point of view) he'd hang out with all sorts of disreputable elements, picking up the basics of what under other circumstances might have made him into a decent rogue. But his real interests lay elsewhere. Magnimar was filled with great monuments, and all around Varisia were the ruins of ancient Thassilon; Bert spent a great deal of time studying them as best he could--among other things, trying to find out the role that halflings played in the time of the Runelords. Whenever he'd go home, he'd inevitably end up spending time listening wide-eyed to Brodert Quink's more fevered historical speculations, a habit which did not sit well with his parents. He was personable enough to avoid repercussions for his transgressions for some time, but eventually his luck ran out and his glib tongue couldn't save him. After being kicked out of the bardic college, he made his way back home, dreading what his reception would be. As luck would have it, he arrived in Sandpoint just in time for the Swallowtail Festival...which meant that the time of reckoning with his family could be postponed for another few hours. And who knows what might happen in a few hours?

Goals:
Despite his pathological disinterest in music, Bert nevertheless feels as though he's disappointed his family by his failure. He dreamed of making some great discovery and returning home in glory. (If he can prove that halflings were more than second-class citizens--at best--in any of the great ancient empires, so much the better; racial pride is a fundamental part of his makeup.)

I would like to submit Navlin Gaethdel for the role. She is fully equipped and ready to insert immediatly should you chose her. Her full background and stats are avialable here.

By the way Noro and Zellandia, I enjoyed following your previous RotR AP game. The party interaction was great to see and really added to the ambiance. Sorry to hear it tapered off. I hope to get to play in a game with the two of you at some point. I run a tabletop Curse of the Crimson Throne game and wish that they had a bit more of a 50/50 balance between "roleplay" than "rollplay", ha ha.

Thank you. I was sad it ended so suddenly since the characters had great chemistry with each other and it was a fun group to rp with.
