Atendarius Kraye
Aten huffs, "You'd think this place was trying to kill us or something."
A short time later he is snoring softly, a smile across his lips even in sleep. Looking for all the world like he isn't in a place comparable to hell.

I would take last watch so I could get up and pray and make breakfast.
There is Breakfast to be had? I thought we were more or less out of food and water for that matter

Bryn, absolutely nothing is happening. Watching the dark is boring. Maybe it's time to get some sleep.
You guys with the help of Eldren are able to get sustenance. I wouldn't call it food. It merely is various mushrooms and insects.
Lenthus Dilwam
Lenthus stares after Buppido. He turns and yells, "Aten is being taken off by Buppido! Careful, I think he's armed!" Lenthus makes sure at least one other person is awake before running off in the direction Buppido went. I hope his intentions are benign. I like him.
even so Lenthus, we may still have to kill him.
I know. I'm just hoping we don't have to.
Lenthus's mind works, trying to find a solution to why Buppido may have taken Aten away.

Lenthus, that would be an insight roll. Taking your first roll.
Everyone except Bryn, and obviously Aten and Lenthus, make a Perception DC10 to wake up to what Lenthus is yelling.
Bryn y Rhosynmelyn
Bryn drawn by the yelling finds Lenthus in the dark. What is going on!? Buppido ran where with Aten? Foul creature, we must strike him down and ensure Aten's safety
I draw one weapon while moving, and a second to dash in the direction Lenthus indicates.
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Lenthus Dilwam
Buppido! Why are you running!? Whatever you want, we can help you, just bring Aten back!
Dash towards them, trying to find were they went
DaWay

Survival to track them, at least until Aten calls out then I will allow perception check.
Buppido Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Buppido lashes out at you, There, there. No need to fret. This will be all over quickly. You'll have a smile on your face. I swear!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 hit
Aten retaliates with a frost bite spell
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d6 ⇒ 6
his hand freezes, and starts to tremble terribly.
That wasn't very nice!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 171d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 miss.
He snarls as his stabs again, striking only the rock ground next to your head, as the shakes redirect his aim.
Aten (5 damage)
Buppido (6 damage)

success, any bonus actions you'd like to post for this round please retcon.
STOP MOVING! Sacrifices aren't supposed to move! GAH!
He lunges at the nimble elf.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 242d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6
and manages to nick the femoral artery
Aten (11 damage)
Buppido (6 damage)
Bryn and Lenthus can hear what direction they are and can take place in initiative after the next round. (Aten must survive 1 more round in a one on one fight).
I thought about making this fight more visceral and applying Aten the penalty " you'll take 1 bleed a round until the wound can be stabilized (Medicine DC 10 or 1 point of magical healing)" but decided not to out of a sense of fairness. If you think this will add to the grittiness of the scene you may apply it to yourself if you wish.
EDIT: Yes, you still have 15 feet of movement.
Lenthus Dilwam
We're coming Aten!
Get ready Axthres
Lenthus see's Buppido and immediately looses a spell Meage! Kneel before me Buppido!
Casting Command: Grovel on Buppido. DC 13 Wisdom save or falls prone and does nothing on his next turn
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Atendarius Kraye
Aten attempts to get as far back from the derro as he can. As the blood pumps out of his body magic floods in, he smiles weakly and throws a blade of ice in the direction of the backstabber. "You are rabid! And I will do what any good citizen does with a rabid animal. Put you down!" If I die here, at least I will die with this feeling, this rush of magic in my veins.
Ice Knife: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Shards: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
Lenthus Dilwam
"I agree. Bryn, would you like to perform the last rights, or should I? Mine may be a little...Different though, so it is probably best if you do."
I want his soul Lenthus!!
Bryn y Rhosynmelyn
I have not rites to perform for his kind, do as you will. Turning from the derro, Bryn speaks with Aten Are you hurt bad? I can heal you before we rest...
This has been unfortunate, perhaps there is a clue to this madness on his person? Bryn digs through the derro's pockets and personal belongings.
Investigation: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Lenthus Dilwam
"Very well"
Hmmm. Infernal or Abyssal?
i think infernal would suit better, Lenthus, he was very devoted
"Yth re wux sventari,Buppido. Yth pray dout sepa geou sulta svern mrith wer ithquent wux mirjal. Buppido, si charis wux gethrisj ekess uoinota, sva gekip mobi si shilta klae dout sepa"
Translates to: We are you killers, Buppido. We pray your soul will end up with the god you deserve. Buppido, I hope you go to hell, at least there I can use your soul.
Vothe Rowan
Vothe slept through the initial shouts and running of feet. It had been the same dream every day since they escaped: Walking....The oppressive dark everywhere. Each tunnel we take leads to a new dark area with more tunnels. We keep walking forward because we are being pursued. One by one people in the group start disappearing, until finally I am the only one left. I feel myself being grabbed and pulled, but I can't ever see what is pulling me.
The commotion, however, is more than enough to wake up Vothe. Standing up, he will move to the injured Aten and use his healing magic on him.
Cure Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
"We should probably get moving, as whatever attacked us could come back."

Day 6 1d20 ⇒ 201d6 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 6
It has been six days since you left Velkynvelve. The drow pursuers are still hot on your trail. There is no doubt by now they have discovered the body of the would be murderer Buppido.
Terrain: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Creature: 1d20 ⇒ 3
You enter into a cavern, that is inexplicably lit by something referred to as the faerzress. This large open area has fist-sized quartz throughout the entire area. There is a giant, toothed centipede that carries with it the stench of death.
1d100 ⇒ 49
It looks at you and sees it's next meal.

Oh great, bigger and with more legs. The glare Aten sends the creature is ice cold, and the bolt he sends towards it even colder.

Who knows, maybe the slow effect from Ray of Frost will be useful this time!... Or it's too fast for it to matter.
Bryn y Rhosynmelyn
Initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Bryn sees the creature move aggressively towards the party and attack, he takes his blades and engages as soon as he can move in range.

Initiative
Aten, Carrion Crawler (41 damage), Bryn, Kingsley, Ril, Vothe, Lenthus (Bardic Inspiration)
Aten without missing a beats sends out an icy bolt that matches his glare.
Carrion Crawler attacks 1d6 ⇒ 2 Bryn, advancing on the paladin first attacking with it's tentacles
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 91d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 MISS
then biting at the sword arm
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 112d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9
Bryn (modifying the second attack roll due to lack of dual weild feat or two weapon fighting style) still hits with two vicious strikes with the pair of short swords.
Kingsley runs up and soccer kicks the bug.
Ril's crossbow bolt goes wide.
Vothe's crossbow finds its mark.
Lenthus misfires his eldritch blast, slurring his words, inside an area of the Faerzress.
Lenthus Dilwam
Damn, I don't have any damage dealt. Round 2!
"Sorry! Drevab!"
Eldritch Blast
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Bryn y Rhosynmelyn
I'm attacking with light weapons and not adding offhand damage, what does feats or the fighting style have to do with my rolls? I did make the mistake of using the 1d6 instead of 1d4 on my off hand; copy/paste error.
Bryn taking damage only from his teammate lashes out confidently, trying to end this creature before it does harm.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22, Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Off hand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Ril Trausch
Gahhhh!, says Ril, in surprise at the necrotic damage.
He lines up another shot on the creature (sharp shooter ignores cover etc).
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 for Damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 + 1d6 ⇒ 2 sneak attack damage.
