Fey Ancestry. Bryn has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic cannot put him to sleep. Deep Delver. Bryn has a knock for making his way in the deep places of the world. He can recall the twists and turns of passageways and tunnels such that he can always retrace his steps underground. He's also well acquainted with foraging and survival in the Underdark, and can determine when sources of food and water are safe to consume. He can always find sufficient food and water for himself and up to five other people in the Underdark, as long as sustenance is available in the area. Divine Sense. The presence of strong evil registers on Bryne's senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in his ears. As an action, Bryn can open his awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of his next turn, he knows the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of him that is not behind total cover. He knows the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, he also detects the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell. Bryn can use this feature 4 times. When he finishes a long rest, he regains all expended uses. Lay on Hands. Bryn's blessed touch can heal wounds. He has a pool of healing power that replenishes when he takes a long rest. With that pool, he can restore a total of 15 hit points. As an action, he can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in his pool. Alternatively, he can expend 5 hit points from his pool of healing to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. He can cure multiple diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of Lay on Hands, expending hit points separately for each one. This feature has no effect on undead and constructs. 10 used Fighting Style. When Bryn rolls a 1 or 2 on damage die for an attack he makes with a melee weapon that he is wielding with two hands, he can reroll the die and must use the new roll. The weapon must have the two-handed or versatile property for you to gain this benefit. Spellcasting. Bryn can cast divine magic by preparing four spells each day through prayer and meditation. These spells must be level appropriate. Bryn's spell save DC is 13 and his attack bonus is +5. He may use a holy symbol as a spellcasting focus.
Divine Smite. Bryn may expend one paladin spell slot to deal radiant damage when he melee weapon attacks hit. The extra damage is 2d8 radiant damage, 3d8 if the target is undead or a fiend. Divine Health. Bryn is immune to disease. Channel Divinity. Bryn may channel divinity once per long or short rest. Sacred Weapon. Bryn may channel divinity as an action to grant his weapon +3 attack, and make it glow in a 20ft radius as well as make it magical for 1 minute. This can be ended early as a part of any action or when the weapon is dropped or Bryn falls unconcious. Turn the Unholy. Bryn may channel divinity as an action turn all fiends and undead in 30ft who fails a Wisdom saving throw. A turned creature is turned for 1 minute, and must move as far away as possible on its turn, and it cannot willing move to a space within 30ft of Bryn. It can't take reactions and can only use the Dash action to try or try to escape from an effect that prevents it from moving. If there is nowhere to move, it can use the Dodge action. Actions

Background. Knight Errant (re-fluffed Hermit). Bryn lived his formative years practicing hard labor and meditation in isolation despite sharing the location with others doing the same. Inspired to find his purpose by a wandering knight he continues a life of dedication and prayer on the road, joining bands of adventurers united in a good cause but calling no place home.
Life of Seclusion. Bryn lived a chaotic life of excess in his early adult years, and was only tempered when forming a friendship with a kindly cleric of Ilmater. He decided that to find discipline and good within him he needed to burden himself and know suffering to gain empathy for those he would typically spurn. He only rejoined society loosely as a traveling paladin, and still seeks enlightenment. Feature. Bryn discovered the gift of Deep Delving during his labor in the northern caves combined with a recent history working against the chaos of the Underdark. Personality. Bryn feels tremendous empathy for all who suffer. Ideals. Bryn believes in the greater good, and that his gifts are meant to be shared with all, and not used for his own benefit. Bonds. What little Bryn knows about the Underdark, he learned from the living and fighting alongside the Feldrun clan of dwarves. He swore an honor debt to the clan before they joined the forces retaking Gauntlgrym and established themselves there. Flaws. Bryn lets his need to win arguments overshadow his friendships and harmony. Faction:
None! Bryn is an independent agent. Bio:
Description. Bryn was born the bastard of a gentile house of former nobility who worked in Valls turning the ore from Tomrav into a modest living as jewelers with limited notoriety. Raised by his exiled elven mother who kept her heritage hidden and lived discretely with the hush funds delivered by Bryn's father. As a child he had no reason to not enjoy life in the cold lands, and received a classic education and learned martial arts with the other boys. As he aged he began taking a portion of his mother's funds to spend in taverns and for lady favors, and would verbally abuse his mother if she tried to stop him.
Soon he ran up some debts, and his mother was forced to as his father for more funds repeatedly. That left his father to gather his sons and beat Bryn bloody, before dumping his body at the door of a cleric. The kindly old cleric talked to Bryn daily, and convinced him to explore the emotional toll his upbringing left. Eventually, Bryn sought to mend his wounds with the hard labor of service in the Monastery of the Yellow Rose. An emotional parting with his mother started a new phase of his life living clean under the teachings of Ilmater. Spending several years strengthening his body and teaching the discipline he never really had, Bryn found peace but no purpose. That changed when Sir Hywel Coetmor came to the monastery during his continued pilgrimage. Bryn admired the old knight, along with his unyielding confidence and knowledge that what he does matters. They hit it off as friends, and Sir Coetmer lingered at the monastery to train Bryn and accept him as a triadic knight - witnessing his oaths against strife and chaos. With that, Bryn traveled with Coetmer to northern point of the Sword Coast where they parted ways and Bryn began his own journey along the coast as a knight errant. Recently he has found his hard labor in the underground monastery had made him at home working underground where few are willing to delve. He has worked with dwarves and men to protect settlements and push beings of the Underdark back to the shadows. Personality. Bryn has found in himself some of the best traits of men and elves despite a sordid youth, and continues to grow in the early stages of his pilgrimage to the old and dead. He remains mostly calm and dispassionate, and believes strongly in his oaths. His experience in battle and the aftermath has strengthen his belief in the greater good and that strengthens his faith and purpose facing those who wish to tear down what is good and civil. Character Flaws. Bryn remains arrogant and emotional despite his commitment to his path and his order. At times he can be frighting with a zealous wrath, or he may stretch the boundaries of law because of an emotional attachment to a cause or individual. He recognizes his flaw as a man, and will commit himself to righting wrongs he himself created. Physical Description. Bryn is tall for man, but short for an elf standing a few inches above most in a settlement. He lacks the lithe frame of elven kind, holding more weight than an elf could but still a more dramatic build than a man. His distinct athletic build, warm brown eyes, and red flecked brown hair and manicured beard gives Bryn an impressive physical presence; and his passion tempered with the kindness and discipline of a man of the cloth draws attention. Friends and Contacts. Bryn's elven mother still lives in Valls alone but happy for him, and he has a few friends from childhood that find his choices strange but would greet him warmly. He has good standing with the staff, clergy, and warriors of the Monastery of the Yellow Rose; and he remains forever friends with his mentor Hywel Coetmor the traveling knight of the triad. Along the sword coast he has made allies and friends with sellswords of various motivation, and the dwarven Felrun clan holds him in esteem and he admires them. He is not without enemies, but holds no particular rival in life. His father and his half-brothers would be cold to him (once a loser...), and many mercenaries don't hold the same commitment to the cause over coin that Bryn has. Creation Notes:
