Trathing Nightcloak |

To the alchemist then.
As the group leaked its way through the streets Trathing share his thoughts I remember the first time I signed an adventurers book. I read the whole thing twice. For me becoming an adventurer was a way to learn things about myself and the world. Why did you all join the guild?

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

Adjusting the giant stinger on his shoulder, Jenrick gave a quick shrug.
"Joining the Guild was the fastest way to help others and make a name for yourself."

Felitcia |

Pleased with the results of the meeting Feliticia rose, and picked up her gear, before heading to the door. As they exited the structure she touched her sleeves and the harem style outfit she'd been wearing rippled and changed returning to the same all covering garment as before. She glanced at Trathling and considered fora moment before responding, "I had very little in the way of practical skills to support myself on when I ended up here, it was the easiest way to put my more...violent, talents to use so I could support myself." She giggled naughtily, "And of course there is the lovely Nawar as well."

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

A sly smile creased Jenrick's face, imagining what an intimate between Nawar and Feliticia would entail..and if he was invited to join.

Hektor Sextus |

"Well, I cashiered out of the army with a pension, but that coin will only carry so far. This way, I keep my skills and fitness levels sharp, and make some coin as I go. Plus, I get to see fantastic places, get baked in the scorching sun, and fight giant monsters! Where else would a man like I go?"
Hektor grins and chuckles as he answers Trathing.

JGray |

The trip through the alleyways of Raseir, cleverly shaded against the harshness of the sun, takes little time and, fortunately, you have been here long enough to not get lost in the winding, narrow ways. You emerge in the Fountain Plaza. Waterskins are refilled and the smell of freshly cooked koobideh fills the air. Lamb, tenderly cooked and flavored with a beautiful array of spices.
The Apothecary welcomes those who enter, her form again completely covered from head to toe in a burka, making it impossible to see just who she might be under the dark cloth.
"Welcome and good return, friends." she says as she motions towards the giant scorpion stinger., "I see you have brought me something fascinating. Please, please. Place it on the counter."

Hektor Sextus |

"This thing was much bigger than we expected, but your anti-poison treatments worked excellently. Thank you for that, ma'am."
Hektor stands to the side of the counter, allowing the more social members of the group to explain the mushrooms and mind control.

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

With Hektor's help, both men gently set the giant scorpion stinger on the counter.

JGray |

The Alchemist leans forward and examines the stinger.
"The size. Remarkable. The largest I've ever seen."
She draws out a long, sharp metal spike. Something akin to an oversize hatpin. Then with suddenly violence she thrusts it down into the stinger. A moment later, she draws the spike out and examines the liquid residue.
"And full of venom. Beautiful! I will happily pay you two hundred dinars for this prize."

Trathing Nightcloak |

We also have something else we were wondering if you could tell us about. We found a fungus attached to the scorpion which seemed to effect the way it behaved. Is there anything you could tell us about this, and perhaps who is capable of using it to control a creature.

JGray |

The apothecary holds out her gloved hand. When she is given the fungus to examine she brings it up under her robes. The group can hear her sniffing at it. Perhaps tasting it, then immediately spitting whatever she tastes out.
"These are common in Mordavia. They grow in places where the fae gather and hold just a touch of their magic. This has been twisted, though. Changed. The faerie magic enhanced and changed by fire magic. Magic in Shapeir is often elemental in nature. You might travel north, to the city of Shapeir, and speak to Aziza the Sorceress who specializes in water magic or Keapon Laffin, the magic shop owner who works with air. They might be able to tell you more."

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

Putting his hands on his hips, Jenrick concludes, "Well, looks like we are traveling to Shapeir. Who know? It might be slightly cooler, seeing how it's north of here."

Hektor Sextus |

"More adventure, out of the desert this time? I'm in, ready to swing my blade and find some trouble. When do we leave?"

Trathing Nightcloak |

Trathing nods... Well it would seem our path is set then. Shall we take the rest of the day to rest from our Trek to the scorpion layer and depart first thing in the morning?

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

"I like that idea", smiles Jenrick. "Desert travel can be tiring."

Felitcia |

Visiting the apothecary again was pleasant and Felitcia was relieved that they learned something. That they had a lead on where to go next was even better and as they finished their business Felitcia nodded to the apothecary and said, "Thank you for your help, it's greatly appreciated." A thought struck her then, a very good one, and she said, "Since it looks like we'll be going to Shapeir is there anything we can pick up for you while we're there? Any herbs or reagents that you can't easily get locally?"

JGray |

"I believe I have the supplies I need." the Apothecary tells Felitcia, her voice softening slightly. "However, I would appreciate you playing messenger for me. I have a note which must be delivered to the Astrologer."
The Apothecary hands over an envelope, sealed with wax.
"When you give him this note, please tell Abu al-Njun I think of him still."

Rhiastra |

Rhiastra nods in agreement of the idea to take the rest of the day, and leave in the morning. "A solid plan, and I also look forward to travelling in a more hospitable environment."

Felitcia |

Felitcia accepted the envelope and said, "I'll make sure to do that for you while we are there my friend." As she turned back to her companions she said, "I think resting today and heading out tomorrow is a very good idea. It will take time to get ready for such a trip and I'm sure we all need to stock up on things before we do."

JGray |

"It is a three day trip north, through the desert, to Shapeir. If those of you capable of riding purchase a saurus the trip will be cut down to a mere two days. The trail is well marked. Assuming you do not deviate from it, you likely won't encounter too many dangers. Giant scorpions, much smaller than the one you brought this stinger from will not hunt large groups. Jackalmen and brigands might but not if you look well armed. Ghouls will attack at night but generally not a camp with a well tended fire."
Those of you who have been in Raseir for more than a week will know no one rides horses here. Instead, they ride a bipedal lizard known as a saurus.

Hektor Sextus |

"Riding a giant lizard looks adventurous, but my true strength comes from my own two feet and back. Perhaps I will learn sometime or other, assuming I have enough coin to purchase one."
Hektor slaps his thigh and laughs.
"But now, now is the time for chilled wine, dates, and dancing! Let's retire to party, before we head out into the wild once more."

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

"But now, now is the time for chilled wine, dates, and dancing! Let's retire to party, before we head out into the wild once more."
The simlarian smiles at the nova roman's joviality.
"Okay, soldier", jokes Jenrick. Holding up the large orange gem, Jenrick continues, "First. We should find the moneychanger, and see how many dinars we can get for this."
Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

Jenrick will convert his gemstone. Sadly, not enough for a saurus, but enough to restock his gear for a trip up north. Will update character page soon.

Jenrick, Son of Zeus |

Jenrick leads the others to the Moneychanger.
