from the bounds of gravity. A large oak desk spins slowly in
the center, and a matching carved oak chair floats near the
ceiling. The walls are lined with low bookshelves, but the
books and countless other items that once rested there drift
gently in midair. Ivy-covered windows to the west and east
provide only dim light.

Flavias mentions off hand some notes about the town's strange, almost organic architecture.
"The seacliffs give way here to a curiously shaped grouping of buildings that look surprisingly similar in shape to a kidney..."

Knowledge (History): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Galdaric nods. "Let us go," he says.
As they arrive at the office (opening the "heading to the office" spoiler) the deaf oracle says, "Well. Something clearly occult has transpired here."
He spends a few rounds inspecting the room for magical auras.
Cast Detect Magic. If necessary to identify the school of magic for any magical auras: Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13.
The Black Crow
|
"No sense hanging out here."
The Black Crow also goes in.
Wyldyrn Coramnís
|
Wyldyrn stops midstride and stares at the strange occurrence. "How very interesting! I wonder what is behind this?" He begins to look around the room, hoping to find the source.
The Black Crow
|
"Dang it, I said no mushrooms when I ordered that meat pie.."
The Black Crow will cast detect magic to see if this magical or something else...
Galdaric Torvalov
|
Galdaric makes a "hmm" noise.
"Let's look around. First, is there anything obviously occult, that would lead to this transpiring? Second, let's try to find the glowing purple vial that Dr. Quolorum sent us to find. This is important; let us take our time."
Galdaric begins to search the room, taking 20 on Perception for a result of 22.
The Black Crow
|
"There's definitely some transmutation magic in effect. Let's look around and see if we can find the source."
The Black Crow will also take a 20 then for a Perception result of 26.

Wyldyrn will join Flavias in attempting to bring back their companions. "Who is the most agile of us here? We can tie a rope to them and then perhaps use a running start to get across the room?"
The Black Crow

The Black Crow casts detect magic on the book and takes a few moments to look for traps before grabbing the book.

Galdaric Torvalov
|
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Galdaric sees the Black Crow reacting to the book with a flapping cover. Being deaf, he can't hear what the book is saying, and doesn't even really know that the book is talking.
"What is that book doing?" he asks, as he twists about futilely in the air.
The Black Crow
|
"Blimey! That's unexpected. So what do I call you? Book? Magic book?" The Black Crow asks as he holds the book at various angles to see what part is talking... and if it has eyes, or a mouth...
How have we been communicating with Galdaric up until this point? Do we have to sign what it's doing?
Galdaric Torvalov
|
Galdaric can read lips. (Took a rank in Linguistics for that. I'm not sure if deaf oracles can take that as a starting language, or if they *need* to spend a rank in Linguistics, but I wanted to do it in any event.)
Wyldyrn Coramnís
|
Wyldyrn looks around for the source of the voice just as Black Crow respond. "A talking book? How fascinating! It would likely be a source of extensive knowledge, I would think."
Flavias Gulianus
|
Flavias introduces himself "I am Flavias Gulianus; 3rd son of the Mandator of Star Bay of Taldor and a Pathfinder Society Field Agent."
before waiting for his companions to introduce themselves as well.

"Quite a few it answers!"
I'm going to speed things up a tiny bit if that's ok so we can finish everything before the next gameday.
The book replies seem to answer your questions after it's been calmed down a bit.
"“Two days ago a wild-eyed man dressed like a farmer and
covered in dirt rushed in here and broke open the cupboard
behind the desk. He took a vial from it, and suddenly
everything in the room started floating around. It was quite a
sight watching him kick and spin in the air. Eventually he made
his way back out, but not before he’d cursed Dr. Quolorum up
and down. He kept yelling about the greenhouse and how he
was going to be too late.”
The Black Crow
|
"Greenhouse? Do you know where that is? What was in the vial?"
Wyldyrn Coramnís
|
"I would love to sit down with you all sometime to speak about your experiences and knowledge!" Wyldyrn says excitedly to the book. "Do you have a preference on a name?"
He then listens intently to the description by the book. "Do you think we meant a greenhouse on the grounds here? If we bring you all along, would you possibly be able to identify this man should we find him?"

|
The book says in another masculine voice. "I'm not sure what a greenhouse is? I think he said it was out of this building near the outer part of the university. His vial had herbicide or something. I don't care what you call me. Just be gentle. "
The book provides a description of the man. You guys remember the professor's note mentioned the herbicide. Anyone standing outside the room please give me a Perception or Survival check
Wyldyrn Coramnís

Wyldyrn rubs his hands together eagerly. "On his heels, quick now!" He then begins to follow the footprints...

The Black Crow takes a look around, trying to guess where the next supernatural event will trigger.
