Yo Matumbo, nice to see you again ;)

As recognition covered his face, Matumbo smiled and streched his arms out for a broad embrace. "Mr. Osris! It is good to see you again." After the short manly embrace, Matumbo pulled back and said, "You are looking for a ship now, yes? I need a ship too. We could search together, yes?"

The barkeep pours the ale when requested, but simply nods towards the corner when asked about food. You see a buffet of sorts - a table is filled with loaves of bread, pots of stew and a large man standing behind it cutting off chunks from a large cooked pig in exchange for a couple of coins.

When Lanliss threatens to expose his vermin problem the barkeep sneers and says, "You think
this lot cares about a mouse or two? Hells, some a' this lot live on the vermin. Keep your mouth shut if you know what's good fer ya."

The music grows louder as more people enter the tavern. The halfling woman leaps down from the barrel and moves to the bar, shoving people out of her way as she moves. "Oi, you, barkeep, where's my f$~@ing ale you f&$#ing piece of s%&$?" she says above the noise of the crowd. "I played the fiddle, drew in the crowd. Now pay up like you said."

The barkeep looks down at her in disdain, spitting in a cup and wiping it out before filling it with a dark liquid. He hands it over with a sneer. Without hesitation, the dimunitive woman takes the cup and chugs the foul drink. She slams the cup on the bar swearing loudly, "Gods damn! I say, Gods damn!" She wipes her arm on her sleeve and heads back to the barrel before striking up another stirring tune. "That's yer last free drink," the barkeep yells. The woman doesn't appear to hear or care what he said.

Immortal has made his selections - welcome any and all who find their way here from his thread.

*Does super, happy fun dance* (^_^)

While Sunny nods to the lass who probably did not hear her introduction over all the noise in the tavern she again drifts towards the bar and seeks out a mug of Rum for herself.

Duo deciding his current spot isn't the best decides to relocate to the bar its self. Picking up the book and pen he moves carefully to the bar not wanting any trouble tonight. As he sits at the bar he gently but firmly tugs the barkeeps shirt sleeve and then points to his cup as if to ask for another.

Looking around the tavern things have started to pick up he notes. A rather interesting range of races Duo has never seen do to his up bringing. Not one to judge someone by looks Duo takes care not to let his eyes wander on anyone to long. As duo does so he notes the interactions of those around him trying to get a feel for who to avoid and who may be understanding of how he "talks".

Thinking he may as well just try talking to the Elf next to him. After scribbling something down on what looks to be a spell book. He taps the man on the shoulder and then points to the book with the inkpen slightly offered to the man.

The scribbling in the book for Lanliss Rainscribe:

Hello there Sir would you happen to know of a good Inn to sleep in for the night?

Suddenly noticing the rats, Matumbo pulls a dagger from his belt and stabs at the nearest one.

The tall, blond-mopped haired Elf takes her drink and skips over to the mysterious lass in the mismatched, ragged clothes. Somewhat akin to the simple canvas shirt and skirt the tanned Elf is wearing.

'Hey-ya there?" She asks by way of introduction.

hello she responds with a half smile still unsure at the rather outward friendliness in such an establishment.

an elf will need to have a different apprach with this one she thinks to her self trying to size her up competition of just friendly face is world full of lies and deceit

Sunny spins around at the quiet voice offering a 'Hello' from behind her,

"Hey-YA! Din't thunk ye heard me! How be you?" She asks, smiling and grinning.

@sunny: sorry for not respondiing sooner but last night started with my table top game I was running followed by severe thunderstorms through the night and unsteady power after that everything back to normal ow (except I am not on a beach with a Margaritta in my hand)

A white-beaded aging disheveled Dwarf with a sea-worm peg where his right leg should be shuffles up to the bar and mutters gruffly to the bar tender "2 ales" before plopping a few exotic coins down on the table.

No worries. I'm in a different time zone to most and working weird, long shift hours. So some times I have nothing but time to wander the boards and others (Like at this moment) am stealing time between waking and working. (^_^) Much cheers to you.

Well my friend, they never know a good thing when it's in front of them. Our luck could change tonight, yes?

As Matumbo speaks he spots a shapely barmaid. Putting up a finger.

"Hold that thought my friend, I am about to test that. I'll let you know if she has a friend. At the very least I can offer her some advice on where a few choice tattoos should be located."

Clapping him on the back he moves towards the woman.

reponding to Sunny

How be me? I 'be' as well as can be expected. You seem rather... how shall I say it... bubbly.

She pauses a moment as if to find the right words it would seem that Sasha is rather unaccostomed to crowds.

perhaps I should try manners, might go further.

Where are my manners... elf... she starts trying to find the right words for conversation. I am Sasha. and .... who are you

Sasha seems to stumble with her words a bit seemingly having very little social interaction in her past.

As Aoro went off to woo the woman, Matumbo's attention moved back to his stomach. Noticing the larger rat, he started to size it up and decide if he could supplement his food with it.

The food settles Herb's stomach. He pulls the plain pipe he'd acquired from his pack. A glance at the pipe combined with its unsatisfying feel makes Herb frown. He preferrs something with flair. If an opportunity doesn't present itself, I may have to make my own luck. Gold doesn't grow on trees, and I'm no miner.

Herbert makes his way across the room toward the musician.

"If you'll play another, I'd buy you another." Herb's offer to the foul-mouthed fiddler is sincere. She played well. He finds his seat again and refills his spent pipe.

He recognizes his next thought as dangerous Who can I trust?

Henks about the quickly filling up tavern. Yesh, this place is turning out to be like the last one. I don't know if I'll ever be able to find work. he thinks as he walks in. Henk notices Sunny and gives her a wave.

Seijiro wakes up from under a corner table, sees he's surrounded by feet, meaning his table is occupied and the tavern has filled up some from when he vaguely recalls last. It's all a miasma of drink filled vague awarenesses, but the tavern had been nearly empty last he remembered.

Great, me shipmates left me here to sleep it off... they're probably all aboard laughing because I'm still here...

He makes sure he's in human form - a ruddy-skinned human youth with copper colored hair and deep copper-brown eyes - and slips out from between the surprised patrons at the table he was sleeping under.

"'Scuze me... 'scuze me..." He apologizes, bowing deeply toward the patrons, and, realizing how late it must be for the tavern to be this full... he runs for the door, dodging patrons and serving wenches alike. He slams the door open and runs outside.

A few moments later, he returns, dejected, head down, tears in his eyes as he trudges back to the bar and orders a mug of ale. He sits down on a stool and lays his head down on his arm on the bar.

He speaks softly, to himself more than to anyone else... "Dammit, dammit, dammit... now what are you going to do, you blamed idiot. Not the first time you've lost a good berth on a good ship for drunkenness...Left without you, they have, you stupid worthless idiot...!"

Please ignore my previous post. Seijiro has been accepted into GM Immortal's game, so I am withdrawing my application here. Good luck to you all who are still waiting to hear!!! Esp. you Sunny - I know you've been trying to get into a S&S game a long time!

Sasha seems to stumble with her words a bit seemingly having very little social interaction in her past.

Sunny liberally smacks herself in the forehead,

"Aye! There I were so keen on gettin' t'know ye I din't introduce m'self!" She skips closer,

"M'name be 'Sunny' in'a appellations of yon folk," The brown skinned elf tilts her head to indicate the humans sitting nearby, "On account o' most of 'em can't say m'name th' right ways fer tryin'!" And she laughs finding something about that situation amusing.

"So then. T'is good t'hear ye be fine Sasha." Sunny grins happily at Sasha's state of well being, offering a hand to shake in greeting.

"As fer 'bubbly', only when I be in'a water." (^_^) and again Sunny giggles finding something else amusing about the way the conversation has turned.

walks over toward Sunny and Sasha.
Well, hello there my good ladies how are you Looks up at the barkeep to make sure he is not being come after
sorry to interrupt your talking but I am pondering if you might be able to help me out here for a minute. I am afraid I have come to find myself in a bind, I am pondering if you might hold this for me for a minute.
hands the vial that had the extract in it to Sasha and then takes Sunny away from there towards the center of the dance floor
I hope this distraction works
Sunny, do me a favor and dance with me will ya?
Prays to everyone and everything that she will so that he can hid from the barkeep, and because I find her extremely attractive Come, on and dance slightly tugs on her arm.

Sunny happily trots along with this new Elf, seeming more than eager to cavort across the floor to the music.

Dance:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 (Untrained)

"I must admit t' bein' used t'more drums -an sand -an' fire light -an' bein' nekkid." She confides in Lanliss. (^_^)

dance

wait what did she just say?
looks at her and gives her that smile, and kind of blushes a little
"Oh, I see. I have never done that before, it sounds like that it would be a wonderful thing to do.

damn... I am having trouble talking to her, let alone understanding her fully, but wow.

So, Sunny tell me about where you live at? I have never seen your type around here. You are a very nice dancer.

at this point he glances over his shoulder to make sure that that the keep is not around

perception check

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

quickly looking back at her and asks What do you do for a living my dear? blushes and quickly retorts what do you do for a living Sunny?

Duo sighs at getting ignored but, he understands. Walking over to the now semi alone Tiefling. After tapping on the Tiefling's shoulder, he waits patiently for Sasha Neville II attention. Scribbling in the spell book again he hopes the Tiefling women will be more willing to help him then the last fellow he asked.

His scribbling in the book asks, "Hello there, would you be so kind as to tell me were the Inn is located in this town? I just arrived in town and I am rather lost, though I do like this tavern."

Duo I am so sorry I honestly did not see that you wrote to me till just now, I am really sorry !! I would have and should have responded to you

Thats ok, I figured. Mind helping me out? I'm roleplaying as deaf guy it's hard to talk and get things answered/asked when my talking and "hearing" comes from scribbles in a book.

you and I could become very fast friends if I wasn't dancing with sunny right now, I have to keep an eye on that keep so he doesn't come after me. I will be greatfull for anyone who stops him from coming after me if he does. When things settle down come up to me again and we will be able to communicate Later I will be able to remove your deafness as well,

Sounds good. Duo will try again later and as long as you let Duo know in writing. I'm sure Duo will help out. Sadly I'm stuck with the deafness (oracles curse) at lest until we get aid from a deity.

I am not about not to try though. that is my way damn it I will experiment till I get it done properly

That's fine Duo/I will appreciate the effort in trying. I shall be back later time to work for me.

I am getting off work how funny

she scribes a response indicating an inn she knows about here in Port Peril not having been here long herself.

at first she begins writeing in Abyssal but soon ccrosses it out then continues in common. sorry, habit

All righty. Before things get out of hand and I start losing sleep over who to pick, I'm going to go ahead and make my selections. You guys are remarkably creative folks and if you're not selected, it's more likely a reflection on me and my biases than any shortcoming in your character.

The party shall be:
Aoro Osiris - Aasimar Tattooed Sorcerer
Lanliss Rainscribe - Elf Alchemist
Alestone Rockridge - Dwarf Monk
Herbert Degrasse - Human Rogue
Henk - Human Fighter
Duo Skybreaker - Human Oracle of Life

Please head over to the Discussion Thread and introduce yourselves.

Well, good wishes and fine sailing to you all. *Bows*

guess mother will have to wait longer.

Yay!

Best of luck to all the poor soles left behind at port. We'll say a prayer and toss a fish back for ya.

Dont worry guys, more ships leave port everyday. Just keep on trying or figure out how to murder a captain whichever one is easier for you ;)

Too bad you didn't get chosen again Sunny.

well dou looks like we get to become friends sunny it was nice dancing with you sorry u did not get choosen

*Waves* (^_^)

Sunny would no doubt do well in some of the other games going on. Sunny as Queen in KIngmaker?

Thank you Sasha Neville II and Lanliss for rping with me on here.

Sorry for those who didn't get picked.

I all ready be in'a Kingmaker game. Thyough it also seems t'have fallen by the wayside.

Seems no one wants a little bit o' Sunny in their games. :(

Much cheers t'ye an' yours! (^_^)

If you ever happen to need a replacement count me in!

Jack Tidesurfer wrote:

While it might seem a tad premature, are you perhaps seeking to pick up the reigns of our tale, Master Jack? (^_~)

I'm reopening recruitment for this game. We've recently lost two players, and as I generally favor a group ranging from 5 - 7 people, I'm looking for 1 to 2 more players. Mainly, I'm looking for skill users, although I'm sure another front-liner or healer wouldn't be turned down.

My expectations of a player:

  • Able to post once daily. I understand that life gets in the way, so long as it feels like you’re posting daily, I’m good. Issues come up in my own life as well, but I’d ask that you inform me if something is coming up that is going to keep you away.

  • Quality posting. I prefer not to have to root through spelling mistakes and terrible grammar. Consistent structure is a boon.

  • The ability to work in a team together. I don’t mind party conflict as long as people are enjoying it. It can often add spice to the game. I’ve seen this only happen amongst people that communicate and are up for it. Which is to say, not often. Thus, I am leery of it.

  • Keep talking, even if it is only in the discussion thread. Ask questions, be proactive rather than reactive. I don’t mind handling questions for things that you might even be the least little unsure about. PM me about problems, plans, goals, if you had an issue with a call I made, so on and so forth. Communication is key to me.

  • Roleplaying. I love engaging others in telling stories rather than playing a skirmish game. Personally, I still feel that this is one of my weak points, and I want to have players that engage and challenge not only myself, but also the other players.

  • People who are willing to do risky things. I like to reward those that try to pull off unlikely, but epic stunts. It's not about trying to do anything that comes to mind, but rather about throwing some memorable actions into play.

Stat Stuff

Building a Character:

I’m usually good with anything from Paizo, but I’m typically leery of 3rd party stuff. That said, feel free to ask about anything. I reserve the right to veto anything.
Point-Buy: 20 points
Races: Core, APG, UM, UC, ARG.
Classes: Core, APG, UM, UC, ARG.
Hit Points: Max at 1st, Average + 1 after 1st
Starting Level: 2nd
Traits: 2, 1 must be a campaign trait
Alignment: Any, but Lawful Good, although see above about teamwork. Alignment cannot be used as an excuse to not get along with the party and contribute.
Starting Wealth: Standard for 2nd level, 1,000 gp.
Backgrounds: I expect a well-written background that ties the character into the AP. The more effort that the background shows, generally the better. I like the format that I've seen used by others, the 10-minute background. In-character stories are good ways to portray your character and I frequently write ones for my own characters. Interesting character hooks for me to work off in the future is also a plus.

Also, aim to answer at least these two questions:

1. What post on the ship do you want? I'd advise not trying to fill in one already occupied by an existing PC.
2. What made your character become a pirate or want to become a pirate?

Realize that you'll be joining a game mid-play, although we're about two-thirds of the way through book one. I wouldn't necessarily assume that you're following the hook presented in the book, so assume that I'll work with anyone chosen to modify their backgrounds a bit to bring them into contact with the other PCs. We're not quite to the place that I want to introduce more characters, so I don't wish to divulge details yet.

I am currently unsure as to how long I'll keep up the recruitment. Likely it'll be until the group is almost on the place where you'll be introduced. It shouldn't be longer than a week, but I've often been made to eat those words. :)

Liberty's Edge

I'm considering throwing something in.

What is the current party?
