Odo gathers what he can from the table. He is going to need all the power he can muster, and probably even over to survive the night. With his belly full, he crawls to the granary checking if he can use his manacles to bind the door shut from the inside while using his rope to climb up and down from a higher point in the granary, he hoped that the construction had some kind of window or a crack where he could slide through. He also though of using the stacks of grain as a good cozy bed, until the night would come.

Sorry I didn't specify the time earlier - it's already evening (the meal you just ate was dinner) so there's not really time to rest.

Muroi:
The tavern is sparsely occupied. In fact, there's only a few other people in the entire building besides your rowdy group. Considering this looks to be the only such establishment in town, you can surmise that the populace is poorly off and can't afford to eat out or go out drinking.

You make your way back outside just as the last warm glow from the setting sun disappears into the night sky. Torches flicker here and there along the road, casting those few nervous lingering villagers in an eerie light. A cool breeze makes you shiver slightly in contrast to the warm tavern.

You approach the granary to find the plump man from earlier assisted by a few others piling wood onto a bonfire. He glances up at you and smiles "Ahh, there you are! We've set up a table and chairs in front of the entrance and started a fire to keep you warm. There's more wood over there" gesturing to a large pile "if you need any. Ring that bell yonder" more gesturing "if there's any trouble you can't handle. I can't promise much, but it might scare them away, if nothing else. Well, we must be going. Best of luck to you all." He tips his hat and walks away, perhaps a little too briskly.

Odo:
You find the granary is already locked, and has no windows.

Smiling as he listens to the mirthful comments of his new allies, Sancho doesn't talk much at fist, stuffing his face as a true halfling should. Once he had had his fill however, he chimes in with, "Well, my skills have been trained in the hall of a swordsman and not the ways of a bandit. I am proficient in the sword I wield and the armor I wear. My trusty Pip makes up for my lack of movement, and mounted atop him, we have plenty of skill to show these tall folk bandits what for."

Noting the time, Sancho too moves to finish up his meal before thanking their hostess. Then, leaving a moment, Sancho meets the rest of the group at the granery, holding a strip of leather in his hand that is conneced to he harness of what looks to be a wolf. "Now before you get too surprised, Pip here isn't an actual wolf, he is a wolf-hybrid, he is more likely to harm a cat than he is a human...unless that human happens to harm him of his kind that is." Sancho adds that last part with a wink. "I say we set up a nice ambush. With this layout, we should be able to find plenty of cover. As was mentioned before, bandits are brave in groups and usually focus around a leader of some sort. I say one of us first open dialogue with the bandits, find out who the leader of their group is. Once we know that, then we can either get them to surrender or let them taste he might of our combined effort. What say you all to that?"

Shadow Lodge

"It sounds like an opening gambit worth trying, in my opinion. I would prefer not to be the one talking though. If things turn sour my inability to wear armor could get me killed." Lillith says, completely unfazed by the hybrid canine. "You seem to have an excellent way with words though."

Barbarian (Titan Mauler)

After dinner, Nazdip looked around for a scarecrow we could "recruit".

Muroi will help in the bonfire and whatever the group needs. He will wait until the bandits arrive to think in a reaction. He is not a good strategist.

He closes his coat, and dressed completely in black he waits into the shadows, looking at the bonfire, the granery and the path.

There is a mixture of curiosity, excitement, and something else that you can't identify. All in all, Terri seems to have a knack for cheerfully talking about some of the most morbid topics.

Terri will find out which way the bandits generally come from and hide in a dark alleyway on that road close to the granary, if she can't find one, she'll borrow a crate and use that as her hiding spot.

Not bad, not bad at all.

male halfling druid

You have a very cute friend, powerful enough to carry one of our kind atop yet smart enough not to throw it's owner off at the first sight of danger. Oto said to Sancho. If something would have happen to his master during the negotiates can I keep it? He started to lough, probably for the first time since he got to this town. Let me know if you want to ask him something.

He checked the zone around them but quickly give up finding a good hiding spot. If there are only two persons guarding it, they will suspect something, so might as well stick with you guys, near this cozy fire. Aggg... and also, would you mind if I turn off the lights once the negotiations are over?

The Granary is a roughly circular building about 40 ft in diameter. It stands a ways away from the nearest building, with nothing but low shrubbery and dirt paths winding into the treeline in the distance, which in the darkness of night the light from the bonfire barely illuminates.

Nazdip is unable to spot a scarecrow to snatch, but Terri gets comfortable in the shade of the wood pile and effectively disappears from view.

Minutes turn to hours as you wait and the effects of the late hour and boredom start to set in. Sancho is the first casualty, falling asleep looking at the fire and leaning against Pip. Odo manages to stay alert but is fading quickly. Nazdip relaxes in his seat, content to stare at the night sky, while Muroi nods off slouched against the table. The girls Terri and Lilith manage to stay awake, though Terri was starting to find the stack of logs surprisingly comfortable.

Every hour or so, Nazdip forces himself to stay mostly alert by getting up, having a stretch, and walking a patrol around the granary.

Earlier in the evening, he pulled out a whetstone and touched up the edges of his blades, also offering to do the same for the other halflings.

In order to stay awake, Lillith routinely pricks herself with a sewing needle. She hated having to do that. What if she lost the needle?

At the ladies' comments, Sancho smiles as he says, "Fear not, I would not propose something that I am not willing to do myself. I'll be glad to be the one to do the talking and don't worry about staying awake, we shall set watches of two hours each. I shan't impose my thoughts on you all, but I am willing to take the first watch so that you all may get some rest. I will come to wake someone at the first sign of trouble or after two hours have passed, whichever comes first." With that he whispers to Pip as the dog sits and seems to start scanning the area.

male halfling druid

Odo moves his ears then, looks to the right and left, but couldn't see anything. It seams we may have some company really soon. But I need to be sure. he says to Sancho then looks at Pip You say your pet is only half wolf, right?

He looked at the animal standing before him and put his head on it's forehead gently moving his hand through it's fur. He whispered some words to himself, then tried his luck on the wolf. What are the others saying? How many are approaching? If nothing, it would provide him with some entertainment but he would hate to lose part of his power just before the battle for a cat.

Odo:
2 dogs coming, not friends. Angry.

Into the light of the bonfire stride two men - one lanky and carrying a bow, the other chubby and hefting a huge club over his shoulder. A halfling stides confidently in front of them, a sickle slung by his side, and holding the leash to two menacing-looking dogs.

The halfling speaks first "Lay down your arms or have them chewed off by the dogs."

Acting quickly as she sees the dogs begin to attack, Lillith casts a spell but it doesn't seem to have any affect. Sancho wakes up with a start and stands up, drawing his weapon, while Pip runs forward and attacks one of the other dogs. The halfling, angered that his plans have been fouled, charges straight at Muroi, slashing a wide gash into his chest with his sickle. Muroi takes a step back, reeling from the pain, and casts a spell sending projectiles at his attacker, who nimbly dodges. The skinny human then steps forward a few paces, firing an arrow from his shortbow at Nazdip, striking him in the shoulder. Noticing the halfling trying to stab him in the back, the chubby one turns and brings his huge club down on Terri, knocking her to the ground and unconscious. Nazdip retaliates against the halfling attacker, in one swing beheading him as his lifeless body drops to the ground. Odo shoots a frozen shard at the humans but misses, then approaches closer to the bonfire. One of the dogs bites back at Pip, drawing blood, while the second charges at Nazdip who manages to keep the beast at bay.

Bolts of arcane energy fly from Muroi's fingers to the chubby one, adding to Lilith's wound. The archer takes aim and lets another arrow fly at Nazdip but shoots high, losing the arrow into the darkness. Angered that one of his dogs was being hurt, the larger human steps forward and swings a mighty blow at Pip, who crashes lifeless against the woodpile. Nazdip retaliates by cleaving one of their dogs, who drops with barely a sound, its lifeblood staining the ground. Odo sends another icicle flying at the large human, but misses again.
