Works for me! I'll take the +2 on the initiative check I think, since that's usually very crucial. Do we have confirmation of the ship's stats and tier?

Scarab Sages

Current situation can be seen in the maps on slide 6. You guys are the red arrow, enemy is the green arrow. grey hexagons at asteroids, the 2 green hexagons are the enemy turrets you picked up on your scan

Mr Smiles answes Azata's communications
"It's nice to meet someone who's so civilized and welcome a chance to talk instead of just starting shooting someone they haven't met before, so refreshing."

During this exchange your science officer can continue to scan. Either the enemy ship (as per starship combat rules) or to scan one of the nearby asteroids for traps and disable the turret found there - if your are good enough (e.a. roll high enough) you get to do both as the same action

The captain can try to stall for longer while the science officer tries this again until something triggers - for example science officer fails a scan or you guys decide to open fire

"Well, there's always time to discuss one's ship, isn't there? I mean, we aren't barbarians after all. Now myself, I enjoy flying a vessel that has enough thrust to..." Stiehle's knowledge of starships ranges far and wide, and the pilot is able to discuss anything from strategic maneuvering to the intricacies of the engines - and does just that for as long as the science officer needs.

Can I Bluff as well?

The ysoki moves her appendages over the scanner controls, trying to scan the turret and surrounding asteroids to ascertain the extent of the potential threat.

Having no trouble with locating the sensor feeds to the turrets Mincey scrambles them, taking over control doesn't seem to be an option..but now at least nobody can use them. Having some spare time and enough bandwidth Mincey also runs a general scan on the enemy ship and comes back with some additional information

Stiehle grins as the enemy captain's facade of peaceful intent dissolves entirely. Getting a jump on the other ship, the pilot skillfully maneuvers through the asteroids, taking full advantage of the extra energy coursing through the engines to come up along the port arc of the sleek enemy vessel, avoiding its forward guns and trying to make their own ship a difficult target for its turret.

Stunt (Evade): 1d20 + 15 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 15 + 1 - 2 = 32 (+2 to AC and TL)

Looks like we get 2 extra speed, correct? I've mapped my route on the grid, moving us 12 and lining up the enemy in our forward arc to take advantage of our two best weapons and avoiding the enemy forward gun as well. Using Stunt to Evade and increase our AC and TL by +2.

Stiehle frowns as the wily enemy pilot uses the shield to protect his weak side. Deciding on another try at a risky gambit, the pilot calls out on the comm to the gunners. "Be ready, target their starboard arc with that turret and the heavy forward lasers if this works. We're going to try another flyover."

Trusting in his skills, Stiehle veers the ship sharply around the asteroid and accelerates straight toward the enemy vessel, shooting past it and then banking hard to left, giving the enemy only their stronger port shields to target with their turret gun.

Stunt (Flyby) Check: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 1 = 23 vs DC 21 = Success! *Whew!*

Using all 10 hexes of our speed, and I think the flyby allows us to use any of our guns to target any quadrant of the enemy ship, so we can go ahead and target their starboard arc using this stunt, correct? Also, our port shields are at full strength (15), so I'll expose that arc to the enemy's port arc where they can't bring their second gun into play by making a final turn in that last hex we move into. Again rolling initiative for next round below.

Confident that Ondo will pour more power into the shields, Mincey pulls up a science console and prepares to balance the shields, distributing shield power evenly across each array...but somehow it doesn't end up working like she planned and nothing gets shifted around

Azara encourage Onda to restore some shields who does so

Thanks to some fancy flying you manage to hit the enemy where it hurts..and it realy hurts. Arratoi manages to land a hit that severally damage both their engines and their power cover Crit+Critical threshold

but the gunner is too scared of his captain to effectively fire ..which also seems to apply to their engineer.

Stiehle grins into the comms and calls out to Onda. "Sincerest apologies, engineer Fritz. Without your incredible work this pretty little ship would most certainly be scarred up with laser burns at best, and at worst we'd be drifting in the black with no power at all. Keep up the very fine work, my little furry friend!" He cuts the mic and chuckles aloud as he anticipates the angry ysoki's response to that last comment as he zips around the asteroid on the starboard side, again bringing the foundering enemy vessel into the forward arc of their own ship, doing what he can to make themselves a difficult target to track. "Let 'em have it, if their starboard shields are still down they're toast!" The operative calls out confidently.

Stunt (Evade): 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 1 = 36 (+2 to AC and TL)

Once more we can target their starboard arc with our forward gun and turret. Again using Stunt to Evade and increase our AC and TL by +2. Looks like our shields are back up to nearly full on our forward arc, so we're in good shape even if they hit us. Below is my Initiative roll for next round, modified by one of the +2 'floating' computer bonuses.
