As Vchk tries to crush what ever is wiggling inside the corpse with his gloved hand he quickly finds out that the flesh of the corpse has decayed further then it looks and some of the body is almost hollow inside, his entire hand sinks into the soggy rotten flesh and several large vicious burrowing larvae burst out from the corpse and start to crawl all over Vchk
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 and 2 con damage Reflex save DC 12 for half damage and negating the con damage
It actually explodes in a 10ft burst..not sure if anyone else would be caught in the burst as well. Chetna for sure not..and I'll give the rest the benefit of the doubt and being far enough away to avoid being sprayed with blood, flesh parts and burrowing worms
Luckily after the initial surprise (and not to mention painful entry) the larvae are rather easy to deal with and can be crushed before they have a chance to bury through Vchk's chitinous outer shell into his soft fleshy parts
| Supers Navasi |
Navasi takes a step back when Vchk approaches to take a look at the corpse. With a small shrug, she gives her flame pistol a spin around her finger before returning it to the holster at her hip.
She is taken by surprise when larvae and chunks of decomposing flesh spray out around the shirren warrior. Once she regains a measure of composure, she moves forward to assist Vchk with dislodging the vile grubs.
Patting the shirren on the back, she moves to assist Angrid with her inspection.

Finding no way past the locked and currently powerless door to the bridge, Navasi makes her way back to the centre of the Mess. "Looks like we gotta find a different way," she announces.
"You okay?" she asks, turning to Vchk. "What now, V? Back to try that last door opposite the engine room?"
Revvy Bitterleaf
|
Walking outside to give Vchk a chance to recompose himself Navasi walks out of the room to the other door which opens without any problems
A ten-foot-wide communal shower stands along the south of this room. A rack of towels rests within reach, while a trio of sinks and toilet talls covers the rest of this room. A single door admits access to this washroom.
The ship’s lavatory is unremarkable apart, perhaps, from the washbasins built to accommodate four-armed kasathas. A large shower with four showerheads takes up most of the aft portion of the room.
While the room is free of threats, if you turns on the showers or sink, you make a gruesome discovery. Shortly after turning on the cleaning devices, the water turns from clear liquid to a deep crimson—the color of blood. This horrific scene lasts only for a few seconds before the water returns to its regular consistency.

Angrid sets to the practical task of seeing how this plumbing is powered.
| Supers Navasi |
Upon seeing the washroom, Navasi thinks to take advantage and wash away some of the gore and grubs clinging to her. She starts to wash her hands and abruptly recoils as the water turns a deep crimson. Just as she thinks to call someone over, the water returns to its original clear state.
Navasi quickly turns off the tap, deciding a little spattering isn't so bad after all, and hurries over to the rack of towels. After drying her hands, she quickly searches the stacked towels, looking for anything hidden within.

Navasi finds nothing hidden in the towels, not even a bar of soap...you can't help but wonder what did these people use to clean themselves other then water?
Pondering this important question you move to the locked door with your newly acquired keycard to find out that it works, you unlock the door and push it open to see;
The signs of struggle are visible throughout this room. A single bed in the northwest corner of the chamber is torn, with its comforter halfway on the floor. A nearby bed table and desk are in similar disarray, covered with shattered glass and hunks of broken ceramics. A pool of blood covers the southern floor, adjacent to the chamber’s sole entry point.
These single-occupancy living quarters are in shambles following a desperate struggle that took place here. A lifeless kasatha in a suit of battle harness powered armor lies on the floor.
The armor glows with a barely visible force field that projects around the armor at a range of about one foot, and a cable on the floor leads from a starship battery pack (identical to those found in the engine room) to the base of the suit.
| Supers Navasi |
As Navasi enters the living quarters her eyes are drawn first to the signs of violence, then to the battery and along the power cable to the slightly shimmering sheen of the suit of armour.
"Wait! she exclaims suddenly. "Didn't one of the logs on that datapad mention the captain sacrificing herself to trap that changed kasatha in a suit's forcefield?"
She looks toward the battery. "But we need that power for the bridge door."
She tries to peer at the kasatha body without drawing too near.

Navasi walks over to the battery and bends down to pick up the cable in a hand (assuming it is insulated and safe to do so). I suppose there's no other choice.
She glances dubiously at the armoured corpse before turning to face Vchk. "Ready when you are, boss. On three..."
"Batons ready, if you have them." If no one tries to stop her, when Vchk indicates his readiness, she begins the count. "One... two... THREE!" and pulls the cable free from the battery.

@Chetna; I feel like I should point out that holding isn't a game term (at least not one I know)..you could delay, which in this case means you don't get an action this turn since after this the enemy is and you would get an action again..or you could ready an attack to trigger for when you get a clear line of fire (in which case I prefer you include a spoiler block with your attacks to hit and damage so we can include it when/if it triggers)..but unless you are trying to conserve ammo, there's not much of a downside to just taking the shot. You can't shoot an ally in the back so they just provide some cover.
