You head inside, opening into a large dissection room dimly lit by windows to the east. Steel tables with drains in the floors separated by curtains are everywhere. You can hear the sound of dripping water somewhere in the distance, and the smell of harsh chemicals makes your eyes burn.

Looking about, you find yourself jumping at shadows. Something about the place is creepy and its obviously clean facade doesn't do anything to help.

From deeper within, you hear a voice echo to you. "Pathfinders.. Have you come to lay down your lives for the cause? Will anyone mourn your loss, pathfinders? Will anyone even know you're dead? Will anyone care?"

The creepiness of the room doesn't seem to faze Jester. He shouts back at the echoing voice, "Oh, come now, what kind of over-dramatic drivel is that? Besides, there are fates much worse than death! Come, let us show you a few!" Despite his joking tone and scarred grin, his eyes are serious as he takes to the shadows, bow drawn.

Etune engages the voice, with Goldur adding his two-cents, while Jester creeps into the shadows. Slipping northward, he spots two men hiding just ahead, their attention focused to the southeast. He can hear more movement, subtle but there, to the south of the two men he sees.

"We'll be sure to send Grandma a nice corpse to bury when we're done Pathfinder. We'll even try to keep the face recognizable."

I'm assuming Jester will want to do something unpleasant to these fine folks, so I'll rolling initiative. Jester gets a surprise round, then into round 1!

These men aren't that much different from River Kingdom bandits.. Jester slinks around the corner and snipes an arrow into the nearest foe.

"What is this place. This is beyond creepy." she says as she scans the area.

When the voice comes out of the darkness Ruth jumps a little. "Show yourself coward! You will be the one that is forgotten and your life waste for no cause at all."

Goldur taunts the man and sets his axe, as the men surge forward to attack! One screams and rushes Goldur, but a readied swing catches him from ribs up to shoulder, cutting him near in half! Two more follow, moving more cautiously, while the one Jester wounded screams and charges him!

Jester: Unfortunately you take a massive penalty to Stealth after making a ranged attack. That's called "sniping" and the penalty is -20. Although presumably it only applies to enemies that saw the effects of your attack.

Yeah, that's where I wasn't sure. It doesn't seem like it falls under "sniping" because I'm don't ducking in and out of cover. Again, Stealth in combat is weird, I don't normally use it, it just makes the most tactical sense to at least try because I used my 5' step to get out of melee

Once you satisfy yourselves that the mausoleum is clear, you head back outside. There the caretakers you saved waits for you. "Thank you all for helping us. Listen, we have a few supplies we've kept for emergencies and this certainly seems like one. We'll give them to you to give to the Society. Also, there's this." The caretaker gives you a cache of supplies and two potions of lesser restoration.

Etune will glance at where Jester glances at one point then nods. "Star Hall sounds like a great idea, I'll start heading over, you'll all catch up given how fast you move!" She's not upset when she says that, more accepting of the fact that yes, she's a little bit shorter so it's going to take her a little bit longer to get there.

"No, miss. Now that we're alerted, we'll be safe enough locked inside until this mess passes. Thank you all, but I'm hoping for a nice quiet rest of the day!" says the caretaker as he helps his fellow inside.

Realizing you're close to Starhall, a likely target of attack, you head in that way, taking nearly 20 minutes to move through the large spread out district.

The outside of this large keep was designed with Azlanti architecture in mind. Two wings extend from the center structure, with a domed tower at the end of the east wing a smaller patinated bronze dome over the center hall. Starhall serves as an observatory, library, and museum for otherworldly and extraplanar objects and lore.

Inside the main entrance is a library with several display cases of objects recovered from Numeria, as well as a curator’s desk and a staircase to the eastern tower. As you enter, four odd owl-like bird men the size of humans armed with staves, look up from rifling through scrolls and books and stare at you. They immediately put aside their scrolls and assume defensive positions!
