Willful Murder
|
Nadding thanks to Tomren, Will moved into the room, one of the blessed arrows already nocked to his bowstring. "What in the nine hells is that?" he shouted. He didn't wait for an answer, simply shooting at the thing tearing its way out of the fat cleric.

Tomren, as you attempt to concentrate on the nature of this creature, you find your mind turning towards darkness. For the duration of this encounter, you will have to roll twice for every attack roll, skill check, saving throw or ability check, taking the lower of the two results due to your participation in the heretic meditations for Sifkesh earlier.

Spencer starts to step into the room with Bear following and is hit with a wave of evil coming of the creature crawling out of the dead priest's body.
Bear gives a whine and backs down a little. Spencer forces himself to step into the room ... hold true ... be strong ... and fights off the evil essence with his own Aura of Good nearly glowing. Bear gains new resolve as he see his master march into the room and follows quickly after bearing his teeth at the thing.
Nocking an arrow as he moves Spencer let's it fly as soon as he stops walking. "Your evil ends here creature."

The spacious chamber past the door contains a simple bed, a writing desk, and an enormous armoire. A Spiral of Korada is drawn along
the north wall, but the drawing is made up of several small marks resembling double-headed arrows. A short stairway leads up to an archway blocked with a heavy curtain. The obese cleric sits at his desk, pen in hand and book open on the table next to him. Turning his head as the door open, he says "Ah, yes. I've been waiting for you. I've been wondering which one of you I should wear next."
"I think my colors are the prettiest. No offense Giovanni di Pietro di Bernadone, I just don't think your winter colors would be as flattering on him."
Faeria steps past the imaginary dwarf (or was he the panda) and stops because she really doesn't have anymore actions left... Oh wait.

Merisiel grimaces.
"I can honestly say that I was not expecting that..."
She then moves forward, and attempts to pin him against the wall, taking a stab with her rapier.

Faeria, let me know if you have other bonuses, but even with just adding CL, you beat his SR. Please roll SR for future spells now that you know about it ;)
The worm creature hisses in pain as the blinding light fills his eyes. His pupils retract suddenly as Drostan's axe, Merisiel's rapier and Willful Murder's arrows pierce his skin with their blessed components.
He attempts to cast a spell, but the care he takes to avoid Drostan and Merisiel's weapon causes his practiced movements to falter. With a sigh, he takes a step up the wall, moving as easily as walking as a five-foot step.

”Not going to get away that easy Devil Spawn!!” Spencer pulls out a small candle and tiny sack with his free hand as he begins to chant a prayer. Just as the prayer completes a large bird shoots from the tiny sack right at the evil creature lashing out with beak and talons.

Dakang is not blind, simply dazzled. Spencer, it takes one round to cast a summon monster spell, so the eagles will appear at the start of your next initiative.

Tomren's spell barely scrapes against Dakang's corpulent flesh. Willful Murder's arrow and Merisiel's rapier cut through his skin with ease.
Hissing wildly, Dakang steps another five feet up the wall stares over the room. As he moves up the wall, a copy of him appears in the same square, mimicking his movements perfectly.
He looks at Merisiel and booms, "Sifkesh will drag you soul to Vantian and feast on it." The double arrows stitched on his scarf glow with a bright light.
Merisiel Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Drostan's swing misses Dakang but does destroy the illusory double. Tomren's missile buffets the man, causing dark bruises to spread over his arm. Willful Murder's arrow digs deep into his flesh with a squelch. With a heroic throw, Merisiel's attack cuts through him like butter, leaving a deep cut across his throat.
The man collapses and falls to the ground. The human body melts away, leaving only a large wormlike creature inside a large set of white robes.
Obligatory "take his stuff" moment: His quarterstaff is of fine make and worth 415 gold. A number of holy texts of Korada taken from the library lay on the table and are worth 50 gp.
With Dakang gone, aasimars approach you and thank you for your acts in the temple on behalf of all the worshippers. They quickly get to work unraveling the perversions Dakang wove into his teachings throughout generations.
You are welcome to stay in the temple for as long as you wish and to complete any explorations you may wish to complete.

Spencer collects all the holy texts of Korada off the desk and takes them to the library. He then helps the worshipers repair the missing volumes and studies them hoping to learn the information they where sent here to retrieve.
After completing all the tasks ask of him from the Pathfinders Spencer helps any of the residents of the temple leave if they so desire. "Come on Bear it's time to go." The dog breaks away from playing with Di Duang and quickly marks his territory before stepping into the portal back home. Waving goodbye to the people of the temple Spencer follows Bear back home.
