Saruna mentioned them to me last time.
These creatures are girtablilus, devoted guardians of ancient secrets. They may have useful information.

Fendahl will call back to the creatures, almost in a growl.

Hrrmm. We are no weaklings, and have mastered a fierce storm just to arrive here. By our honor, we seek knowledge, not conflict. Hear our story then decide.

We could have right to enter, if the guardians of such ancient place allow us to enter.

It will be not the first sacred place I'll enter and I can swear you I've never done anything to enrage or even bother their guardians.

The woman-scorpion lowers her spear a few inches at Artian's words. "Perhaps, brother, perhaps they are the ones we have waited for! They show respect! Perhaps they even have proof of divine favor, Ardashir, proof of righteousness!"

You've made progress with her, although demonstrating control over divine creatures (hint hint: scorpions) or demonstrating knowledge of this sacred place (Know Religion or Bluff) could be helpful. Her brother is less certain of you.

"Bah! They make claims and whine of a mere sandstorm, Anahita! If they be worthy, let one of their number throw my spear back with equal accuracy. Or tell compelling words of their prowess! Or better yet, show us with their own weapons!"

You can throw the spear back at a -4 penalty for distance, or execute a weapon drill with your own weapon (an attack roll). Alternatively you can tell a boastful story, using Intimidate or Perform Oratory (or Bluff).

Lucija dismisses her companion, and booms syllables of power. In moments, from out of a crackling portal in the air arrives 1d3 ⇒ 1 a formidably-built, flaming giant scorpion, which approaches Lucija and inclines its back legs, bowing to her.

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking | Liberation Points: 16

"They have yet to prove their worth, sister! All they have to show are magic tricks, bandied words, and flashy displays with flimsy weapons. I could snap that sword in my pincer with ease!" He clacks said pincer to punctuate the point, the sharp retort echoing through the canyon.

The samurai turns back to the gnome.

Lucija, can you dispel those tentacles?
They appear to be hindering us more than our foes.

Was a great idea, but they appear to be too strong for it, sadly

Hrrm, it seems they will need more concentrated efforts to convince.

Tortuga's impressive flying kick nearly frees the scorpion of its tentacle tethers (first hit) and although his follow-up hammer lands in the sand (second missed), his spinning hook kick separates the giant creature's head from the rest of its body (third and final attack hit).

Behind him, Lucija's epic boast is enough to get Ardashir's fleeting attention, but he quickly turns this to Bane. Anahita doesn't even notice. They have... a lot.. of HD.

A terrible flurry of club, claws, and sting batter Bane to a bloody pulp. The convict barely keeps his feet.

Meanwhile, Anahita lays into Fendahl's magically-enhanced cat. Her spear plunges four times beneath its coat, and her claws and stinger leave deep red marks along its length as well.

Spear @ Cat: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 20 = 28 HIT Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 plus a Fort save vs poison please

Before I go any further, I should point out that a standard girtablilu's CMD vs grapple is 29 (they do have a whopping +36 to CMB checks to grapple, but they'd still need to roll and spend a standard action to break free), so both of those tentacle rolls should have successfully grappled them. Are they exceptional girtablilus? I need to know what the deal is before I decide what to do.

I'm guessing they have class levels, and probably a decent number of them.

Well, with that grapple roll, no point in going into the area of tentacles this round if they are still there. I need to know if you are keeping it or dismissing it before I act.

Tortuga sees that Bane is in trouble and also sees that there is an opening to attack.

Running around the tentacles, he leaps in with a flying kick.

Flurry of Blows, using flying kick style strike (movement doesn't have to be in a straight line). Spending 1 ki for an extra attack. Using stunning fist on the first primary attack.

Primary Attack #1:
Stunning Fist. Fort DC 21 or stunned 1 round.
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24

Damage to Self: 1d6 ⇒ 6

If stunned, Medusa's Wrath kicks in allowing 2 additional primary attacks against the stunned enemy. (Plus all further attacks at +2 to hit for stunned)[)/ooc]

Extra Primary Attacks (Medusa's Wrath):
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
