Marin smiles as she draws the healing magic out of her wand, placing a soft hand on Meleren's shoulder.
"Ylimancha teaches us to be calm and at peace, like the vast sea. Let my healing magic wash over you like a cool wave."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Eventually, Marin makes her way over to the lift with the others. All of these mechanisms and devices are clearly beyond what she has experienced before.
"Van, Vailis, we're all putting our safety in our hands. Be careful."

![]() |

"Um, yeah. That's no good guys. It means there's no air in there, I think. At the very least, we won't be able to breathe." Van explains with a troubled frown.

![]() |

"There's no other way to go, thus push the button I would say. We will hold the breath if necesaire." and Vailis uses his shield wand over Eidi. Eidolon can be affected by personal spells
Then he draws another wand and readies himself to use it over Valeros to enlarge him in case of fight danger.

GMTrex |

Any other votes? Going for it?

![]() |

"I remember the hologram said something about atmosphere when we first activate it. Do you think there is any possibility there is some control we left there we can activate that helps with the problem?" points out Vailis.

![]() |

"Thinking back on what that message said, I'm pretty sure it was telling us the thing we're looking for in the room with no air. I think we're on the right track, assuming this room doesn't kill us."

GMTrex |

Eidi punches the button twice, and the door flies open with a sound rivaling a sonic boom. The limited air in the lift is vastly insufficient to fill the room ahead, leaving the entire area in a near-vacuum. The shock to your lungs is considerably painful Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 (to everybody, including the bandits) and you immediately begin suffocating.
A series of glassy panels form a semicircular array along the southern walls of this circular room. Some of the panels are lit but blank, while others flicker with a jarring, black-and-white dotted pattern. Many are cracked or simply dark. A throne-like chair sits before a mechanical table in the center of the room. A skeleton slumps in the chair, one bony hand grasping a large lever. Its other hand, wearing a
strange, silvery glove, rests upon a glowing plate.
Suffocation rules are here; the short version is that you can hold your breath for 2 rounds times your Con score and strenuous actions reduce the time. Please be very precise about your actions until such a time as the air is restored (Ex: "move action, move action, standard action, free action," etc.).

Vailis uses his wand to first heal himself, then Van, then Eidi, and if at the 4th assault someone still needs healing, he goes with it.

Unsure how close to death the group is, but mostly certain he isn't long for his world, Van finds himself moving into the room to the skeleton and trying to remove the glove.

Round 1
Marin holds her breath and begins to follow Van, aiming to protect the Gnome from any dangers within the chamber.

Map is updated.
Perception (Van): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Perception (Marin): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
While Van removes the glove, you both notice that the skeleton's other hand rests on a lever just below a plate reading "AIR PUMPS" in Common.

![]() |

Wasting no time, Van pulls the air pump lever! If that doesn't restore the air, he'll move swiftly back to the lift, hopefully followed by Marin.

GMTrex |

It does indeed restore the air!
With a great whooshing sound, the sublevel's air systems come to life, filling this chamber with fresh, warm, breathable air.
Incidentally, rule #4 of this list a friend of mine put together a long time ago states "Levers are placed to be pulled."

![]() |

Breathing again Vailis says "Good job gnome!". Looking at Eidi, the eidolon perfectly know what is needed and starts to carefully register the room, now with oxygen in his lungs.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
If nothing is found, they just come back to the lift with the others.

GMTrex |

Vailis doesn't find much of interest up here; all of the displays are dead and the one hologram that was showing earlier flickered out when Van disturbed the skeleton.

![]() |

"Let's get out of here. This place is making my nerves to go mad. Perhaps the goblet will help us with the controls below as the other one did with the lift." without much waiting Vailis goes into the lift.
Once everyone is inside he presses the down button.

![]() |

"Well, that almost killed me, but at least it'll be a good story to tell to our grandkids, right?" Van says with a smirk as he join Vailis in the lift and waits to return to the main level.
Assuming Vailis healing still went through, sitting at 4/8 HP.

![]() |

"That certainly was a great one. I've never before been in a room without air to breath!" Vailis gets his wand out another time and tries to heal the gnome.

GMTrex |

I return!
With everything in hand, the group heads back down through the lift without further incident. You are once again in the central chamber of this bizarre sublevel.

![]() |

"Anyone want to try on the glove and move the hologram around?" Van asks first, but tries it himself if no one is feeling brave.

![]() |

"Those things make me chills. Better you go with it, I am sure you are the best to do it. " the half-elf readies himself with his two wands on hand knowing something big can happen "I don't see any opportunity for us to go out of here."

GMTrex |

Van takes a gloved hand to the hologram, which very much moves under his touch--Van can even feel a sort of weight or resistance to it, as though manipulating a real object. The carousel only seems to move in one direction, but just a gentle push in enough for it to settle on a hangar aligned with the main chambers--and for the flashing red to turn green. This motion is once again accompanied by a great screeching and grinding of gears all around you, completed with a loud, satisfied 'click.'
According to the hologram here, you can now exit this area again.

GMTrex |

"Brrr," chitters Shechera. "That sound gives me chills."

![]() |

"See, there's nothing to it. Let's get out of here before the place tries to trap us again." Van suggests, using the hologram as a mental guide to find the way out.

![]() |

Vailis grins with hope "Yeah, that seems to work. You are real genius Van, if we get out of here alive I promise you a good dinner a the best Absalom restaurant."
That said, Vailis advances to the exit and tells Eidi to go first. The eidolon looks for traps and other dangers before entering into the next room.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

GMTrex |

The party heads out the way it came, trailed by Meleren and Shechera (who look desperate to get out of here). Exiting through their former refuge, you find that the room you came through has been replaced with a similar hangar full of inactive guardians--except for the one standing in the center of the room as you approach. It whirs to life, standing tall atop its pile of metal rods and ceramic plates. But its face, oh its face...!
Meleren and Shechera both huddle away from the creature, unwilling or perhaps unable to fight it.

Good question, thanks for asking. Out of order is fine so long as you don't go out of turn with the baddies. I do generally resolve things in initiative order, however. So basically post whenever and I'll figure it out.
The creature is unlike anything you have ever seen or read about, and you cannot as yet fathom its abilities. Rare creature, so DC 15+CR.
