Mrachni moves quickly forward, sword humming in a swing at the creature, his orcish features set grimly. "I SAID CEASE!" he thunders, just as his sword swooshes past the creature in a warning swipe. Spending one fervor to cast bull's strength as a swift action.

It was a warning...
AC currently 25 (11 touch) due to War Mind.

Did Tarquin swallow all 3 potions or just 2 before we got into real initiative?

![]() |

Im assuming that stops the chanting and thus the spell failure?
Lillian will cast Glitterdust DC 18 on the creature.. I marked the map as to where i put it..

![]() |

In that case, just the shield and bull strength then. He would start with those 2, moving up a little since Mrachni went moving up as well. If you don't mind me changing. His earlier actions were based on the assumption that the party would wait untill he was done.

You get 1.5x strength bonus if you only HAVE one natural attack; not if you only MAKE one.

AoO vs Traquin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
The cecaelia's tentacle snaps out toward Tarquin as he approaches, but merely bounces off his armor.
The tiefling then sinks his teeth into the octopoid!
@Tarquin: I'm not sure you get 1.5, the rules say if you possess only one natural attack, you get 1.5
Mrachni retaliates and slices into the cecaelia!

Tarquin looks at the pathetic creature. He expected more! He wanted more! He roars in frustration.
The battle haze over, he walks over to the book and closes it.

![]() |

Mrachni looks around a moment before shaking his head. "No." With a neutral expression he kneels beside the octopoid and reaches out to slowly close its eyes. "May there be justice in death as there has been in life," he intones.
After a moment he stands and turns toward the door. "Let us return."

The party retreive the tome. The chanting stops when the book is closed. Once the Celestial Song is stopped, the the Infernal Incantation and the Celestial Song ca be recombined by locking their covers together. Doing so reinforces the wards on the Infernal Incantation and rebinds the fiendish legion held within.
Searching the creature, the party finds assorted coins and
trinkets worth about 200 gp. Also there are a pearl of power (2nd level), and [i]an elemental gem (water).
Retrieving the Celestial Song and Infernal Incantation is enough to spark further Pathfinder Society interest in the tomes. The Society steps in following the debacle and offers Yargos Gill further assistance with his work on the tomes, an offer the old man can’t refuse, given the Society’s help in saving him from his own foolishness. Though his mysterious benefactors may not be pleased with the Society’s meddling, the inclusion of Pathfinder scholars ensures that the two tomes are respected and no further outbreaks occur.
The party is congratulated on a job well done and is given a chance to study the tomes before they are sent away to be studied by Society scholars...
The End....
