Ah, didn't realize they were prone.
Blame my poor map skills, I hadn't figured out how to show that they were under the chairs and tables. Sticking out their little crossbows at you.

Falcon's swing cleaves into both the unfortunate goblin and its pet before a single command can be given, sending body parts flying and a loaded crossbow across the room.

Las' surprise round act will be to move up 10'
Falcon Dragorion

Artix Erling
|
Artix glances around, seeing the others have the goblins cornered and contained. Moving to guard the way out of the room, he watches for any other threats as he calls over his shoulder.
"Maybe we should try to take one still kicking. They may be goblins, but maybe we con convince them to tell us something"
That will do for both surprise and first round.

I can promise though the last encounter will not be a walk in the park even if you feel this one is. :P
If the players would like a higher challenge, I'd refrain from Dumb Tactics as written? Just an Aye or Nay in your posts would do.
Round 1 if there's a round 2.....

The Goblins fire off their crossbows. As Las and Artix moves in.
"Goblin be Fire!!"
Fire 1!! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 231d8 ⇒ 2
Fire 2!! 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d8 ⇒ 4
I believe that these would draw AOOs from both Falcon and Sigrun.
-Rurik
|
Who did they shoot?
In any case, Rurik will draw his sword before five-foot stepping to close with the next goblin.
Longsword, PA: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 1 = 7

Falcon almost feels sorry for these dumb little fools.
aoo-non lethal swing: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 6 - 4 = 12
damage: 2d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 + 3 = 10
It's kind of required to use tatics as written in PFS, but if you see a chance to make them do smart actions within those constraints I say do so
Las Lajas
|
Las readies his whip to trip the goblin in front of Sigrun when he attempts to stand.
Trip vs goblin CMD : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Soft cover applies from Sigrun not inlcuded
nightdeath
|
Falcon and Sigrun in order, who are the closest.
As the crossbows discharged their payload, Falcon takes a swipe at one of the goblins who heaves a loud sigh of relief as the blade slices through the chair he was under. His crossbow jerks once and its bolt slams into Falcon.
Rurik's aim is hampered by flying chair pieces preventing him from getting a clear shot at the goblin.
Sigrun Wolfrunner
|
AoO (nonlethal): 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Despite her disdain for the obviously partially brain-dead goblins, Sigrun blocks the incoming crossbow bolt with her shield before bringing the flat edge down on its head.
Also, when my turn comes up:
Shield (nonlethal): 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 4 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
... and she does it again, just for good measure. Freakin' goblins.
nightdeath
|
Sigrun and Falcon dispatches their targets with ease as Las whip pulls out an unfortunate goblin screeching in anger before being knocked unconsicous by a very irritated Sigrun. Falcon's blow after his miss stemming partly from the bolt now protuding from his shoulder cleaves goblin, table and part of the floor.
Combat Over. With 1 unconsious Goblin. Noted Falcon.
You hear the scuff of a boot on the floor above—someone is upstairs.
Las Lajas

Las will give the room a good looking over.

These gobs aren't important. They probably work for Hjort, but he must have sent someone smarter than them as well. And someone who could pass for Pathfinders if this is meant to be a frame-up. Let's get those guards in here and search the rest of this place.
Artix Erling
|
Artix watches the group and the hallway for anything coming at them, taking note of Sigrun's fighting style trying to commit it to memory.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
As Artix is about to comment on the fighting, he stops and quickly motions for the rest of the group before pointing to the second floor.
"I believe we might find some answers with whoever is upstairs. Let's tie up the goblin and then head up."
Las Lajas
|
Lax will drink his Shield extract right before the group heads up the stairs.
nightdeath
|
Leaving the unconsious goblin where it is, you head upstairs.
Most of the rooms on the second floor are armories stocked with armor, weapons, shields, equipment, food, supplies, and so on. The provisions and arms here could stock a small army for a small period of time or maintain the city’s defensive forces for an extended period. The loss of these provisions could prove disastrous for Trollheim, especially were the malicious forces of Irrisen to conduct a prolonged or well-staged assault on the city.
At the southeastern window, you see that Hjort and his crew are already down in the practice yard.
Climb Down DC 10, 20 Feet height
nightdeath
|
They are aproximately 50 feet from you.
An easily recognised Hjort is equiped with a well made handaxe, studded leather and a dagger.
A human Woman in studded leather, a light wooden shield, well made light mace and two javellins.
A man in red robed, quarterstaff, crossbow over his back and seems to have finished reciting something from a scroll as it crumbles from his hands.
What seems to be a half elf also in simple clothes, with a potion in his belt and his hands ready on it.
Spotting you, Hjort begins to insult you, your companions and heritage and other words that shall not be translated.
You do noticed that they tread carefully across the practice yard before catching sight of you.
Las Lajas
|
Las tries to see if there are traps in the field.
"I suspect he is goading us in the hopes we fall into his trap."

K. Arcana T10 = 17 + Free Inspiration: 1d6 ⇒ 4
nightdeath
|
Las doesn't think that the field is laced with any traps and it's obvious that there isn't enough time to do so.
He does identify that the spell casted was Mage Armor.
Falcon Dragorion
|
I agree Las
Falcon gets ready to fight, he doesn't see a way out of this situation. Hjort and his companion have gone through great lengths to get rid of Pathfinders and Falcon doubts Hjort will simply stop.
Initiative or is there still time for anyone to do a social roll?
Las Lajas
|
Las wasn't foolish enough to believe that his inability to visually detect a trap was was proof of anything other then Las' inability to find a trap.
"Let's throw something out onto the practice field. Maybe there's a pit of some sort..."
Las grabs a chair and attempts to hurl it out the window.
Throw chair: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13 Added a -4 for Improvised Weapon
-Rurik
|
I'm strongly considering shooting that jackass in the face. If the practice yard is trapped, why don't we just fight them from here? We've got decent cover from these windows and they're out in the open yard.
Las Lajas
|
"We want to be in a position to catch them if they run away. Plus, we may already be standing in a trap."
Las glances around the room for any signs of a bomb or the smell of something burning.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
-Rurik
|
I had the impression that the practice yard that they're in would be an enclosed part of the property - that they'd have to come inside if they wanted to engage us in melee.
Las Lajas
|
Based on the updated map, it seems you are correct. But Las' instincts say something is up. It seems too easy to just fire on them from safety. If Las doesn't pick up the signs of any trap, I say go for it. Shoot them down.
Artix Erling
|
Artix moves forward, stowing his shield and sword as he gets to the window.
"I'm all for shooting him in the face, but we need to make sure they don't have some other way out."
With that, Artix swings out the window and begins to climb down.
Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Dang should have done the accelerated climbing.
nightdeath
|
Las attempts to throw a chair out to find a trap and it lands onto the practice field smashing into debris to the derision of Hjort. The yard is enclosed only by a wooden fence and it's easily scaleable to exit it. Freedom for the 4 is but a climb away.
There doesn't seem to be anything burning at all.
Artix makes the climb down look easy as he scales down with relative ease.
Am adding chair to act ast DT.... Sorry for my poor map making skills. 'BBEG' and last encounter.
Sigrun Wolfrunner
|
"Oh, bugger it all -- back me up from up here, 'aight?," Sigrun grunts, taking a few steps back before charging at the window. She doesn't waste time climbing - she literally just jumps out of the top floor, landing with... well, not much grace, really, and lands with a pained thump on her butt on the practice field below.
Acrobatics?: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9
Nonlethal Falling: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Sigrun scrambles to her feet, wincing at the poor landing but otherwise feeling alright. "HJORT!" she snarls, "GET YOUR FILTHY HIDE OVER 'ERE!"
Las Lajas
|
Las puts away short sword and whip and pulls out his crossbow, and use the window for cover.
nightdeath
|
Sigrun doesn't waste time as she flings herself out of the window, flinging bits and pieces of window out as she rolls to her feet. Hjort simply laughs at her from where he stands.
Las pulls out his crossbow and uses what remains of the window for cover.
-Rurik
|
Well, I'm still going to shoot at that jackass's face. It would be much improved by some fletching.
Rurik glares at Hjort, and lets loose an arrow

Las Lajas
|
So I'm actually way confused here. Normally you can't initiate any combat without init. I figured you were going to have Rurik's shot take place after init was resolved The reason I bring this ups is Las was going to wait for someone to cast a spell, particularly Runa before firing his xbow and hoping to interrupt it.
As Runa moves toward the wounded Hjort, Las prepares to fire if he sees her use any magic.

Las there wasn't any init to be taking place until you guys went to the yard. Seeing that Rurik shot first and then climbed down, I took it as 2 actions. Your post said you went to take cover after Sigrun took the cinematic way out. Nothing about readying to take a shot when Runa cast a spell.
As of now Everyone is on the ground except you. Yes your shield is still functioning. I'll give it 12 rounds left.
Seeing that your shot is the opening salvo, I'll move on from there.

Right, I declared that action before Rurik fired. After Rurik fired, I was expecting an init roll, but instead you advanced the combat 2 rounds before I could respond. I'll just fire another Ready'd Shot at Run to represent the start of combat
