And Fyi, you make an Acro check versus every person against whom you want to avoid an AoO...adding +2 for each attacker past the first.
It's separate rolls? I thought the same roll was just applied against each potential attacker, with the increasing DC.
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 7(too many rolls, only leaving threatened squares of three enemies, not four as I can pass through an ally)
Crap. It's a moot point anyhow; I didn't realize that tumbling is straight up not allowed in medium armour. None of those rolls matter, as I wasn't permitted to make them in the first place.
Las Lajas

From the FAQ: "You must make a check the moment you attempt to leave a square threatened by an enemy, but only once per foe." Good catch on the Acrobatics and medium armor. I'll have to remember that on my Ranger in breastplate.
So that means you probably would have stayed put as your character knows he can't tumble?

@Sigrun. Noted I left the imposter there as he's plot sensitive.
Las is right on the acrobatics as is Rurik but hey since you rolled and it makes great cinematics. Let's just roll with it.
Grunting as Rurik rolls in a ball of clashing metal, he finally comes to a stop at someone's foot, to that someone's consternation. The curse however dies on his lips as the point of Rurik's blade makes its presence known in his gut.
Las makes an impressive figure cracking his whip and somehow manages to ensnare a bottle half filled with strong drink.
what sense motive gets you
It's obvious tbat the drunks are all aimlessly bashing but it's clear a strong and authoritative voice is needed.
nightdeath

Moving this along. Don't want all of you to spend time beating up drunks when it's obvious they can't deal with you.
The echoes of the fight dies down as you are left the only ones standing with most of the drunks laid out cold and a couple dead. The barkeep pokes his head out from behind he counter.
"Best be off all of you. The local watchmen will be after you!!"
Turning to face the imposter however, it is fairly obvious that this was a setup, designed to get all of you and by extension the society in trouble.
'Persuading' the imposter to reveal the plans was simple but what he revealed wasn't.
Hjort plans to dress a team of thugs (including Runa White) as Pathfinders and assault Trollheim’s armory. Hjort hopes the assault (in combination with what he thinks are village raids by Society agents) will trigger a mass purge of the Pathfinder’s Society from the Land of the Linnorm Kings, with every Society agent in the country hunted down and slain.
What's worst is that Hjort and Runa are at the armory as he speaks, He gives you the directions to the armory.
Should Pathfinders challenge the castellan’s power by destroying his weapons, not only will the castellan look weak and likely be challenged and killed, but the Society will bear the brunt of Darkwine’s lieutenant’s rage at the assault. As he further explains if successsful, the Society may never be allowed in Trollheim again.
In truth, the Lands of the Linnorm Kings lacks a unified government between the various city-states that comprise it, and it is unlikely that the Pathfinder Society would be banned from the entire region, even if Hjort’s plan is successful in getting them banned from Trollheim.
A DC 10 Knowledge (local) check reveals that Hjort’s plan is flawed, but that even being exiled from Trollheim would be a blow to the Society. And on a more immediate level, it certainly wouldn’t help the PCs locate Skagni to deliver
the chest.

"You were right Falcon, this was a setup..."
Still, Las was disappointed to see these unarmed men cut down so brutally.
-Rurik

I'll also take 10
You'd best keep your comments to yourself barkeep. Don't think we've forgotten that you were in on this scheme.
I can't figure Hjort out. Why does he hate the society to the point where he's coming up with foolish plans that won't even work?
Regardless, we should get to the Armory quickly. We'll never figure out what to do with the chest if we get run out of town. And the bosses will probably be unhappy if we let the Society be banned from Trollheim.
Falcon Dragorion

Not so unarmed, at least one had an axe remember.
I thought that 'Hjort' here had gathered these men to swarm and take us down. I did not expect an imposter. So while I may have been a little hasty I'd rather a couple thugs fall then Pathfinders.
nightdeath

Two thugs. The rest drunks. That aside, the to hit and damage is amazing.
The look-alike’s directions lead straight south across the market to a blank, wooden structure straddling the line between the market and a secured residential district. All seems quiet, though a small group of guards are speaking to one another quietly out front in Skald.
Las Lajas
|
Las didn't feel it necessary to try and argue the point. Falcon had acted in defense of the party, and right or wrong, Las would rather be on Falcon's side than against him. Besides, Las was beginning to realize that the Society didn't seem remiss in asking its members to do its dirty work. The Silver Crusade might have mixed emotions about the methods, but Las' first loyalty was to the Society and its general efforts to preserve knowledge for posterity.
"Just four guards? Didn't someone tell them Falcon was coming?"
Las readies his whip.

Just remember that there are some exceptions to that, with the main ones being: Mithril armor making medium into light, being a dwarf with the Slow and Steady trait, Fighters with armor training.

"It's hard to understand the plans of someone who is so intent on causing harm to the Society. Even if his plan is flawed, it still won't be good for the Society or for us."
Following the rest of the group to the armory, Artix watches the guards.
"The rest are probably inside, but do we know if these are Hjort's men or true guards for the armory?"
Curious, can anyone activate a wand of infernal healing. Artix got clubbed a few times in that fight and needs to get topped off.
Las Lajas

Las will attempt to use the wand.
UMD on Artix's wand of IH w/Guidance (DC 20): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Either way. I don't mind using my own wand's charges for myself. But if you'd rather use your own want, i'm cool with that too.

I may go that way with Rurik once I have the money, but given his Dex, it's not going to be a priority.
As long as we're waving wands around anyhow, do Falcon or Sigrun need a CLW before we talk to these guards?
Sigrun Wolfrunner

I actually got hit a fair bit while I was grappling the fake-Hjort (so many 19s and 20s!), so a tap from a wand wouldn't go astray. Trade ya' a charge from IH for a charge of longstrider? ;) (Since I presume the original charge has worn off by now)

All of Las' damage is nonlethal, so I'll need to know when it is restored. 1 per hour

All your hitpoints is restored. Only Falcon has being taking lethal if any. Treat al wand waving as done in the tavern.
The guards notice your approach and as one close ranks against you. Dressed in chainmail, with heavy shields and throwing axes, they look impassively as oyu come closer.

Ah, my old enemy.... darkness. Well, as long as it isn't magical we should be alright.
Falcon will pull out an ioun torch, it's continual light shining, and with a command word it floats over his head.
Price 75 gp; Aura strong universal; CL 12th; Weight —
This item is merely a burned out, dull gray ioun stone with a continual flame spell cast upon it. It retains the ability to float and orbit, and allows the bearer to carry light and still have his hands free. It may be in any crystalline shape common to ioun stones (ellipsoid, prism, sphere, and so on).
-Rurik

There's something in there, but only Artix will be able to see anything. I'm going to put away my shield and get out a torch unless anyone objects?
Nice trick Falcon. There was definitely something moving around inside. Now hopefully we'll be able to see it.
