Mwk Polearm attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Mwk Polearm damage 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9
"Broccan, get your shield up and lets play with this vermin."
As broccan goes in to attack, Canvy stays behind, so he can use the pole arms reach to attack the creature. But then again I guess he pokes it in a friendly way this time...argh.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Edrukk tries to move between Erine and the arachnid, bringing his greatsword to bear.
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 2) + 3 = 9

Broccan Dunchad |

Wow, looks like I won intitiative with a 12. LOL.
Broccan moves forward, shield ready, and slashes at the spider.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
...but can't hit the broadside of a barn-sized spider...

Broccan Dunchad |

Broccan swings again at the monstrous arachnid.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Critical Hit Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7
...and the rubber sword returns, LOL...

Erine Wintyle |

The spider leaps forward and attempts to bite Canvy...

1d20+2The poison dripping fangs are turned away by Cany's armor!
random DM roll
1d100You are up!
Erine backs away (dunno about positions).
Um, how big is it?
KenderKin |
It is called a giant spider although it is actually Medium size!
The spider lurches on it's side from the mighty blow Broccan landed....
Erine
As you back away to let the others deal with the spider and seeing where everyone is, in the hallway behind you you see a couple of skulks running towards you. Minniwick is just behind you!
Initiative
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
noise attracts attention!

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Not sure it's my turn yet, so I will spoiler it for use when the DM needs it:
Edrukk presses the attack.
Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3) + 3 = 11
Wow, some serious futility in action here.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"Ah'll be wit' ye shortly - gonna be fer makin' sure th' beast 's dead 'n not fakin'."
If the spider is out, Edrukk will coup d' grace it. If it is not, he will make a normal attack.
Coup d' grace damage, if appropriate: 4d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4) + 6 = 19
Normal Attack, if necessary: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Normal damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 5) + 3 = 14
Crit damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7
Why oh why can't I roll like that against something that's conscious?

KenderKin |
The spider had gotten its legs under it till Edrukk was able to make an attack on it. In one attack Edrukk finishes the spider!
Broccan and Canvy move in front of Erine and Minniwick Ready to meet the oncoming Skulks!
The skulks pull up short in the hallway and launch an attack with crossbows just as Minniwick throws a bomb at them!
attack Skulk #1
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
attack Skulk #2
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Erine Wintyle |

"Pan!" Erine shouts. Wisps of smoke fly from her hands at the skulk that hit Canvy. As they move, they briefly shift into the forms of phantoms--and then they enter the target.
Will save DC 16 to resist. If he fails, he is frightened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds. If he succeeds, he is still shaken for 1 round. If he has over 5 hit dice, he is immune.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Kenderkin:
(I ask because normal crit range on a crossbow is 19-20 and he rolled a 17.)
Spider squished, Edrukk will move around the casters to face the new threat.

KenderKin |
Canvy
They will be chargable after Minniwick goes!
If you want to declare actions after the bomb go ahead, just specify skulks round 2...
Eddruk
No they do not, I misread that darn dice roller, thought he had rolled a natural 20!......
Good spot! You also think those skulks must have come from one of the doors you passed on the way here! You suspect the door at the top of the stairs......

As Minniewicks bomb dissipates, Canvy with a blood curdling call, raises his falchion in both hands and charges at the skulks. "Death to you little devils. You shame this noble place."
Falchion attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 doesn't include any modifiers, like +2 for the charge.
Falchion damage2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7

KenderKin |
Both Skulks get caught in the splash of the bomb taking damage and trying to arm themselves for melee.
Canvy cuts one down before he can get his shortsword ready.....
The other one drops his weapon
In undercommon he says
Truce, truce, you are here for the Eidolon I can give it to you!

Erine Wintyle |

Erine raises a hand. "Hang on, this one surrendered. He mentioned some sort of 'eidolon' we're after. Either that, or a meatloaf. Oh! Eidolon....the locksmith's familiar!"

![]() |

Canvy stands over the creature as it cowers surrendering to Erine, "Erine, if you need me to restrain it, or otherwise let it breath it's last breath, just let me know." Canvy holds his falchion, in a position such that the creature 'knows' he's safe if he behaves himself, but if not, well you know.

KenderKin |
Searching the body that fell from the webs yields you 2 tourmalines, each worth about 100 gold.
The captured skulk leads you back along the corridor, the door at the top of the landing of the stairs, now stands open....
Empty weapon racks line the walls of this dusty, 10-foot-high room. In the middle of the floor rests a large wooden chest with a flat lid and iron hinges. Atop the chest sits a manacled quaadraped of medium size. The doglike beast has a bright orange white star-shaped splotch of energy on its tiny forhead. It rattles the manacles and seems excited.
The creature then addresses you in common,
"I am starbrow the Eidolon of Keygan, I have been shackled here for a long time, use the keys and release me!"

KenderKin |
Starbrow suggests closing the door, by touching a plate inside the room, the door slides into place.
"The skulks raid the surface for slaves and hand them off to some hobgoblins, who then take the slaves to a place called the Malachite Fortress."
"The skulks work with a gang of 'dark ones' led by a dark stalker named Yuathyb. They all work for an underdark slaver named Kazmojen who pays them a share of the proceeds from his sales, with the skulks and dark ones keep whatever they pilfer from the city above."
"There was once a mimic here it was moved to guard treasure in Kazmojen's stronghold."
Starbrow shows how the gear doors all open easily from the inside!
"I recommend you rest here for a time and I will watch over your sleep then see about getting you to the Malachite Fortress, before I return to my own plane."

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"Ye 'r a different one, 'r ye not? If'n ye be o' Keygan, ye c'n tell us 'at 'e does fer a livin'. Tell 's 'n we c'n let ye go. Fair 'nuff?"

KenderKin |
"Keygan spent many a year learning his craft as a locksmith, he recently started studying arcane lore, becoming a summoner. I am in fact an aspect of a creature he summons, but I have been anchored here by potent magic contained in these shackles."
"There is a gear door in the back of this room, it is locked right now but in a day a group of hobgoblins will be coming up through that way. The elevator is through there somewhere, but also a trap of some sort."
"Beware magic items in Jzadirune the vanishing yet lingers in the magic here!"

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Canvy nods to Edruk, "You know I think we can trust him."
"Aye, Ah think yer right." Edrukk will move to collect the keys and look for reactions from the others before applying them to the creature's shackles.

KenderKin |
Starbrow stalks and kills the Skulk....
"I feel weaker than ususal it must be the distance between Keygan and I."
Everyone feels relatively safe in the small room and based on the Eidolons word everyone is able to rest and prepare spells.
The room is shaped approximately 80 feet but slightly irregular the N gear door, the one you came through is in the front of the rooms and an R door Is in the back along the east wall.....
Any plans for what to do when the R door opens and the hobgoblins show up?

Canvy and Broccan
Your sleep is troubled and you have a nightmare!
You stand in someplace dark and cold. You cannot see, as the darkness has totally consumed you, but you know that it is dark, because you feel one with the darkness. As the light begins to filter through your senses, you see you are in an immense cavern of stone. The light comes from cages that hold writhing insect-like beasts whose pods give off a soft, red glow.
Before you stands a small boy, less than a decade old. His black unkempt hair falls in front of his face which causes him to shake it from his face. You can see his eyes glisten with fresh tears, and they run down his freckled face. You recognize the boy as Terrem, one of the kidnapped orphans, but you cannot understand why you know him. You’ve never seen the child before in your life, but you can sense he is Terrem, as if you feel his very life force.
You look down at your hand and you see that you are once again the gray humanoid with writhing tentacles on your back. Terrem seems to notice this now as well and begins to scream. His scream is pain in your ears, and causes you such immense discomfort that all you can think about is to make the screaming stop.
You look back to the child, still screaming.
Minniwick & Erine
Your sleep is troubled and you have a nightmare!
All around a young boy are floating eyes. These disembodied eyes float all around Terrem, never taking their gaze from him. There are perhaps a dozen of the orbs; however it is difficult to discern them because they constantly wink in and out of existence. Now each floating orb is writhed in green flames. The eyes do not seem bothered by the flames, and they begin to spew out a noxious black smoke. The smoke begins to fill the cavern, slowly covering the boy, Terrem. As his face is covered by the veil of smoke, he screams louder.
And as he is taken away from your vision, you see his tears have turned to blood. The flow all around his face, and just as he finally disappears from your vision, a symbol is seen on his face.
But you don’t have the time to make out what the symbol is as the smoke and darkness consumes the boy.
Eddruk
you recall no dreams of the night before

Erine Wintyle |

Erine starts awake. "Goat!" the young gnome cries. Goat gets up, also looking troubled, and puts his head on Erine's lap. "That was unpleasant," the gnome murmurs. "Nightmare," she explains to the others.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

"'s 't a bad 'un? 's 't 'un ye 'ave 'ad b'fore? Ah know 'ey c'n come back from time t' time. Sometimes 'ey remind ye o' somethin' from yer past, 'ey say."
The gruff dwarf appears genuinely concerned at her discomfort.

KenderKin |
Starbrow looks at you his tongue hanging out to one side, reminding you of a dog....
"The other side of this door there is about 10 feet to a second door, somewhere in that 10 feet is a trap of some sort, the second door will be open for a short time while this door is. On the far side of that second door is an elevator to the Fortress.

Edrukk Thorvirgun |

Edrukk looks at Broccan confused. "Ye 'ad a dream, too?" He looks at the others. "What 'bout ye, then? Ah dinnae 'ave a dream. Not 'at Ah recall."
Scratches his head for a moment, "Mebbe 't 's important. Were 'ey th' same dream?"
Looking at the eidolon, "'en d'ye think th' hobgobs 'ill be comin' 'n? We lost 'r trap expert. 'at sort o' trap d'ye think 'ere 's? 'ow d'ye know 'bout 't?"
