Logain Xanatus |
"I guess, maybe they give a clue as to what is going on in here."
Brother Grimdoc |
Grimdoc will continue to search the smoke room for secret doors, especially along the eastern wall.
"Let me know if you open either of those there other doors and I will stop poking around in here.
I had sensed some evil...but maybe it is on the other side of this wall and not accessible from this room. I dunno."
perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 +2 vs stonework
Calistan the Wanderer |
Calistan grows bored and goes to investigate the red door. He grabs the handle and pushes it open...
Calistan the Wanderer |
Calistan moves to stand in the yellow smoke in the room that Grimdoc is moving around in. This is boooooring...
He holds his breath unless nothing happens, then he breathes in the smoke.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As Calistan moves into the smoke everyone in the room sees Calistan step into the smoke and then the smoke completely conceals Calistan from the others. You can just make out Calistan taking in a deep breath after a split second and then you don't hear anything from inside the smoke pillar anymore
Samuel Deland |
Samuel jogs up alongside Calistan, not wanting his ally to get caught up in something he can't handle alone.
Snow Adder |
Snow Adder moves to the doorway in case his assistance is needed. While he doesn't expect outright violence, he does get bow and arrow ready in case of something unexpected.
Brother Grimdoc |
Grimdoc comes out of the smokey rooms, leaving Calistan to bask in their smoke.
"I am not finding any hidden doors here...and I checked real good. Did you get those other doors opened or what?"
If we do not have a resident lockpick in the group, Grim will cast another knock on the red door to the south.
Snow Adder |
Snow Adder will check the red door for traps, use his wand to cast aspect of the falcon and get ready for any trouble that is revealed in the next room once we open the door.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As Samuel jogs along side Calistan he enters the smoke and you quickly discover that there appears to be more then enough space for both of them as both completly dissapear from sight.
Grimdoc and Snow Adder decide to leave the room and check out the red door. Unlocking it with a knock spell cast by Grimdock
Calistan the Wanderer |
Logain Xanatus |
"What the.... They just disappeared? Samuel, Calistan! Where did you go." Logain shouts after them.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Marcel saves Grimdoc the expense of a spell as he manages to break the lock on the door with hsi expertise and thieves tools
Since I personaly think that most of the times it's not a good idea to split up the party....does anyone try to follow Calistan and Samuel? You don't have to, I can work with a split party. Should be much easier in a pbp as opposed to the chaos it normaly turns into in RL
I'll wait with posting what's behind the door to prevent possible multiple encounters triggering at once
Logain Xanatus |
"They just dissapeared... I don't think they would have died, maybe teleportation. Navi, you go in there and let me know that you are fine okay?" Logain says against his little familiar.
Navi Titania |
"Well if you say so..." Navi says tentatively and slowly moves into the smoke. Once on the other hand she emits an emotion of happiness and surprise to let the others know it is safe If it is so.
Samuel Deland |
Samuel sticks next to Calistan, soon realising they are alone.
"Let's hold fire here for now Cal, our allies aren't yet caught up."
Samuel checks behind him to see if the others are in pursuit.

Calistan the Wanderer |
Brother Grimdoc |
Grimdoc will call out as he also enters the yellow smoke.
I am going after them. If you don't hear from us in 5mins, that means we probably found a keg and a bowl of preztles....or we died.
In either case you may need to do some convincing to get us back. Hah!
Samuel Deland |
"Grimdoc! Are the others coming?"
-Posted with Wayfinder
Logain Xanatus |
"It's all clear, Navi is safe and found the others. Let's follow on through." Logain says and follows in through the yellow smoke, ending up with the others.
Snow Adder |
Snow Adder will also pass through, signaling Marcel to also join the others. Once he passes through, the archer will check the hallway past Cal for traps and enter the hall.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Calistan the Wanderer |
Calistan weaves his hands around before a sphere of silence envelops the party as the Trade Prince moves into the room with nary a sound being heard.

Revvy Bitterleaf |
Well..not traps per say..just the bells and beads hanging everywhere.
@Snow Adder+Grimdoc, if you enter the hall before Calistan puts up the silence (which it looks like going by the map and the order of posted actions..it's a DC 18 acrobatics check..or you risk setting of the bells)
Calistan summons a bubble of silence (around himself? In the middle of the corridor?) and then proceeds to walk into the corridor, setting strands of beads and bells swinging left and right.
Snow Adder |
Snow Adder easily darts and dodges through the beads and bells, then turns to Calistan with a grin when he senses the silence descend upon the hall.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Use derring-do and spend 1 panache to add:
Derring-Do: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Derring-Do (nat 6): 1d6 ⇒ 6
Derring-Do (nat 6): 1d6 ⇒ 4
Proving an Acrobatics of 33
Calistan the Wanderer |
Around myself.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Snow Adder moves to the door at the other end of the corridor and quickly discovers that it isn't locked and doesn't seem trapped for as far as he can tell.
As long as Calistan stands in the middle of the corridor the bubble of silence should cover everything, so everyone else can move through the corridor without setting of any sounds
Snow Adder |
Snow Adder backs off a few steps and signals to everyone else with a thumbs up that the door is clear of traps. He prepares for entry by casting aspect of the falcon from his wand and casting gravity bow.
Logain Xanatus |
Logain follows in the silence bubble, activates his flight ability and taps himself with the shield wand, nodding that he is ready for trouble.

After preparing (Just pointing out that gravity bow has a verbal compenent and doesn't work that great in an area of silence - wands for some reason don't appear to have a vocal activation) you open the door to reveal:
A passageway that runs west to east, with a door set in the north wall before the corridor turns to the north. Arches on the far east wall lead to the darkened chamber that periodically flashes with colorful bursts of light, casting the cirridor in shifting shaes of pink, scarlet, dusty rose and incandescent blue.
In the middle of the corridor is a man (with 2 daggers hanging from his belt and wearing a robe) who seeing you open the door adresses you.
"It's good that you are here. I propose an exchange of information and favors. I will give you access to my considerable knowledge of magical secret and you agree to serve as my agents in all manners as I fit"
