Nice shot Arklore. My sword could not find its mark. I hope this place is not interfering with my divine connection. Let me see if I can patch up Caoilte before we move on.

I fear this place has been fouled and the negative energy is preventing me from channeling the Divine powers I need. I hope these effects are only temporary.

GM Brew |

Tarek uses his powers, although straining through dark magic of the temple. He does not detect anything unusual in the room. The party continues to explore the lost temple, moving methodically to the left.
They move into the adjoining chamber...
A charred orc corpse hanging over a pool of blood accentuates the grisly atmosphere in this befouled shrine.
Though a grisly scene, they see nothing else of note. The Archons continue their grim exploration...
They move to the larger chamber north, burned wood, pottery fragments, and ancient dwarven utensils litter the floor. Carved maps, possibly of the surrounding area, decorate the walls, though crude grizzly marks appear added to the stony cartography.
The party grows concerned that this temple is occupied by more than dark memories. They check the lower, smaller chambers.
Sleep mats, broken weapons, and dirty clothes clutter the area, the markings of a crude barracks.
Warily, the Archons continue...
They enter a chamber dominated by a large hole in the southern part of the chamber. The Archons can tell its wide, and dark. Isador drops a copper piece into the hole. The party listens for what seems an eternity, not hearing the coin hot the ground. They wisely decide not to mess with the hole. They move on.
In the next room, the stone visage of a horrifying creature with several tentacles for a face sits in the corner of this room. The creature appears to be rearing back in preparation to strike. The party sees the remnants of another statue lying near the monster, but they cannot determine what it once was.
As the party walks on, something materialized, seemingly out of the shadows, tentacles reaching ups around the floor at Caoilte's feet and strike at the warrior. One of the tentcles connects. Pain rifles through the axe weilding fighter and he can feel a cold sensation run through his body at the spot of the wound. While the Archons try to respond to this secret attacker, the thing takes advantage to attack Caoilte again. Fortunately, the tentacles bounce off his armor. Caoilte takes 7 damage and needs FORT save.

Brew. Before we move on to other areas I think the party needs a moment to assess injuries. Tarek has limited spells and his focus is not on healing. He has already used 2 of his 2nd level spells. I would suggest everyone use any heal potions they have. Tarek will use up to 3 of his 1st level spells to cast CLW on those who need it
