This discussion is for #6–06: Hall of the Flesh Eaters. We will be running at sub-tier 4-5.
To better facilitate getting chronicles out to everyone quickly once we are done, please reply to this thread with the form below filled out.
You may roll day jobs now, if you prefer, or wait until we are nearing the end of the scenario. If you do not roll it before I am filling in sheets, I will complete it as if you had taken ten on the roll. If you have already rolled it via Recruitment, please link to the that post on your form. I don't yet know if there will be an opportunity to make purchases after the mission briefing, so it might be a good idea to have those resolved before we begin.

A number of you applied to the sequel for this scenario, which I will also be running later during this Gameday. #7–19: Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts, which is designed for levels 3-7.
I just wanted to double check how many are interested in Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts after this game? I am considering running two tables, one a continuation with this party and the other made of applicants who ran the prequel with someone else. Please let me know if you are interested in continuing with this party into the next scenario if you did not apply to the other game yet.

Herr Magt Jaeger |
Are you planning to actually begin on the 27th (a Saturday), or the following Monday?
Not a huge deal, but I can probably get a scenario in on Sunday. Won't get me a level, but a little richer at the current level.
bluedove |
Yes, I do intend to start on time, as per my own regulation:
As your GM, I will:
Finalize tables by August 26, 2016, if not before then, and begin the game before 11:59 pm my time on August 27, 2016.
Sorry!
@Tarondor and SkipperD, do you want to continue on into the sequel(#7–19: Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts) after this game?

Getting our opening gameday post up now and thought I should impart to you that there will NOT be an opportunity to shop after this mission briefing. That will be fairly obvious when you read the opener, but since I didn't tell you this before now I'll allow a little time to finalize your retroactive purchases. But you should consider your character as having been equipped before you actually post a reply. So questions regarding gear will actually do you no good. =/
caps |
With all my in-tier characters occupied in other games I think I will have to bow out of this one. I could use a pregen, but I think it would be better for me to save this one for later.
I'm really bummed, because I think you are a great GM, bluedove, and I'd rather play in your games than in some of the others I'm in.
bluedove |
Sorry to hear that! I know it's partly because I couldn't wrap Horn of Aroden up in time, so I'm sorry for that as well. I didn't know about the gameday when we got started on that game and the start of school slowed me up a bit. I enjoy GMing for and playing with you as well and I hope you have a great gameday all the same. ^_^

Guys, I have some concerns with proceeding on as we are... Looking over the scenario and our roster, we have a distinct lack of healing. =/ The wands are there, but you're going to be hard-pressed to activate them reliably.
I'm thinking we need to either open recruitment for a character who can heal in combat or ask Taraondor to switch up the Pregen to one with some healing. What would you all prefer?
Thallin Quin |
I also have a wand of infernal healing, which is on my spell list. That being said, I'm ok with either option as well. Infernal healing is a good out of combat heal, but in combat its a little slow.
Assuming we have enough front-line, I could also offer to switch to a level 3 Bard (Arcane Healer), which is mostly a support character. It will be less damage, but more support and heals.
bluedove |
The infernal healing helps, but like Thallin said, still not the best for in-combat healing. Before we go swapping out anyone who can disable a trap, I'll inquire for a another player. Maybe we'll get a bite and include someone who got shut out of the gameday and not require anyone to get a whole other character ready.
In the meantime, feel free to peruse your gear and shore up your purchases if need be.
Tatiana Ungaro |
From: Thallin Quin
Understood, but in the event we get someone who isn't a healer and you decided to have me switch over, my arcane healer (Tatiana) is also +10 to disable device. )
I'm ok with playing either character. Here is her profile. I will leave It entirely up to you.
bluedove |
That does make it an easier swap. I'll loiter around Flaxseed for a bit longer and see if I can find someone, but otherwise I think Tatiana would do well for us. Thanks! ^_^
bluedove |
Ah! I see you found us. Good deal. Thanks for joining us and glad to have you aboard. ^_^
Literally, that is, for as you'll see as soon as you check out the gameplay thread, we are aboard a ship at the start of this one. Everyone has until the end of the briefing to finalize your retro-active purchases and then we'll get this game a'rolling.
I am also running and playing in a fair few myself this gameday, but I will strive to keep a good pace for us. Jorah, do you think you will want to also join us for the sequel, #7–19: Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts?
bluedove |
Just a quick FYI, my daughter came down sick last night and I have been busy dealing with that. Ran out of time to update you guys, but you will be my first priority tomorrow.
You will spend one more night on the Pixie and set off the following morning. The captain can sell items up to 2,000 gold or so if you do still have more to purchase.
Tarondor's Ezren Pregen |
Hey, gang. My computer has died. I still have my iPad and occasional access to a laptop (like now), but it's going to be slow going until I manage to fix or replace the computer. I'll do my best to keep up, but please pay through if necessary.
bluedove |
Thanks for being understanding. I'm sorry for the slow post rate so far, fortunately I have some games closing out soon so my bandwidth will increase.
I'm also headed to the doctor soon, since I caught her blasted cold. Yay for priorities! XD

One would wonder if they didn't have enough time to finish the scroll, who put the scroll back into the water tight tube. As fare as the amulet goes, any front-line strength based character should take it. Thallin will use a charge from his wand to heal the few damage he sustained from the splash damage.
I took the description to mean that they did manage to finish the note, but something happened that caused them quickly roll it up and put it in the case before the last line or so of ink had dried, thus smearing it and making it illegible.
Also, Thallin did take damage from the swarm feeding on him as well, so probably about 6 damage in all including splash. You do need to actually roll the amount healed. Don't forget he has Str and Con damage too.
Thallin Quin |
For some reason, I visualized the ink being smeared because they got eaten before they could finish...LoL.
I didn't roll the healing because it was a wand of infernal healing, which would have healed 10 HP. Let me know if there hasn't been enough time for the wand to have fully taken effect and I will apply the remaining damage.
bluedove |
Oops, my mistake! I thought you meant a wand of CLW and expected you only took 2 damage, which would be the minimum the wand could heal given 1+1. Understood! I'm fine assuming you healed up all 10 rounds.
bluedove |
So sorry about my delay, everyone. My charging cord for my laptop got mangled in the inner workings of my recliner and would no longer work to charge the battery. Then it took a little time to find a replacement cord of the right type and get it shipped to me. But it arrived today and now I'm back online and trying to catch up all over the boards.
Jorah |
I was just informed this afternoon that I have to go to California, starting tomorrow for a week of training. Got to love the Army. I don't expect to have any internet except for my phone so my posting will be spotty at best.
The Restful Spirit |
I'll be at a local con this weekend, so if I go a bit quite, that's why. I'll post if and when I can.
Thallin Quin |
I'm ok with it as well. I know Bluedove has a character in one of my other games and is currently being botted, so I am assuming something came up.
Thallin Quin |
It looks like Bluedove's last post was around November 8th. I believe she is a good GM and I'm hoping she can return, safely. Normally, I would say to give her more time, but with the Game Day V time limit, it makes sense to keep things moving. If she returns, I am assuming it is ok for her to take the GM seat again. Right?
