Reporting in.
Who knows what kind of trophies we get from this.
Did you save that head from the woman I decapitated last game?

I'm going to make kung-fu sounds like the old-70's movies, and my clothes will have to make sudden wind noises when I attack. Something like THIS.

I got an email from the organisers of the Game Day, in which they asked all GMs to tell their players what the expectations are. So here I go:
* The pacing/tempo of the PbP game the GM wishes to set.
I will post new chapters once the party's ready to advance in the storyline. Events don't complete themselves, and I'd like to see the players actively engaged.
* How frequently you will post as the GM.
Depends on the amount of posts the party members make. I'll post at least 1 time a day, but this'll increase when members make multiple posts a day.
* How frequently the players are expected to post. (Including how long they will be given before being put in “Delay”.)
You're expected to make at least 1 post on an average day. Almost everyone goes out of town sometimes, and most of us know what's it like to have a busy or unlucky day. Please do inform me, either in this thread or by PM, if something's up and you won't be able to post for a prolonged time.
* What the player inactivity level (in days) will be before the player is dropped/replaced. (As well as what level of credit a player will get should they quit/get dropped.)
If you suddenly disappear and are gone for over 3 days, without letting me know why, I'll send you a PM to ask you why. Once I've send the PM in which I ask you about your absence, the party will move on. Once the PM's send, you have 3 more days to get back into the game before you're dropped. If something horrible has happened you may rejoin at any moment, but your rewards for completing the game depend on your amount of activity.
Players who are mostly inactive will lose a part of their reward. This could be 1/3 you'll lose, or even 2/3 of your reward. Dropped players will receive no reward.
Unless most of you drop out and we have too few players for a legal table, which I don't expect will happen, there won't be replacements.
* What process combat will follow. Including how initiative will work, posting expectation, how the GM prefers die rolls to work in combat, et cetera.
I'll roll initiative once combat starts. Combat may be triggered by events or NPCs, but players may trigger combat as well. If a player triggers combat, for example by stabbing an NPC, all other players are to await the NPC's reaction and the initiative rolls that follow.
Combat will be done in groups. Within a group everyone can take their turn in any order. Unless a player is waiting for the action of an ally, the actions will resolve in the order they're posted.
* Where maps are hosted, and the expectations the GM has for their use.
I'll use Ditzie. When your character moves, please adjust your character's position on the map and link the new map in your post.
* Any other expectations and processes the GM wishes the players to follow.
Keep in mind we're all playing this game for fun :)

Tomorrow (Saturday) I will be unable to post for the vast majority of the day. Taking the family to Lehman Cave Tour. It's in the middle of nowhere, so I'll be unable to post, even by phone.
Please feel free to NPC me should it be necessary.

Thanks for letting me know! Any prefered actions during combat, when your turn comes up?

Trip anyone with two legs (CMB for trip +2, no AoO w/feat), flurry of blows +2/+2 at 1d6 damage, single attack at +3 (1d6 damage), and once per day trip using the reposition feat if they attack me, especially if it's a power attack or someone charging me.
The reposition ability copied here:"At 1st level, as an immediate action, a flowing monk can attempt a reposition or trip combat maneuver against a creature that the flowing monk threatens and that attacks him. If the combat maneuver is successful, the attacker is sickened for 1 round (Reflex DC = 10 + 1/2 the monk’s level + monk’s Wisdom modifier to halve the duration) [so, that's 10 + 1 + 4 = DC15 for Dagnobar]. The monk gains a +2 bonus on the reposition or trip combat maneuver check and the save DC for redirection increases by 2 if the attacker is using Power Attack or is charging when attacking him. The benefit increases to a +4 bonus and an increase of the saving throw by 4 if both apply."
Pretty sure that means when I trip using this ability (trip at +2 CMB, no AoO w/feat) the trip goes off plus they are sickened.

Hate to break it to you Muchiko, but you're firing into melee, you get a -4 to that last attack.
Now don't eat me misses Otyugh and everything will be fine... for us anyway.
Indeed it does Dagnobar, I'm playing a flowing monk myself in a tabletop game. Fun times to be had for me; sad times for the GM.
StephNyan |
To make clear what did and what didn't happen, I made a list of things that have been reversed/changed:
- No one lost HP, except for Togg
- Muchiko didn't fire her last 2 arrows
- Rabbai didn't shoot his last arrow
- Xander didn't fire his last bolt, and didn't start his summon spell
- Vitarri didn't use channel
Once more, sorry for this mess. I thought Togg wouldn't flee, and instead would continue to attack till she died. It was a single line I missed, but I should've read it better.

Np boss man :)
I feel better for not having to heal the monster to stabilize my companions. Despite one of them stabilizing on his own. :)
Misarru |
I'm glad I survived the ordeal, already saw the Channel Energy bringing back me and healing Togg... It's something I learned the hard way when I played a cleric.
Kill the monsters, smash their faces, then do the Channel Eenergy if you don't have Selective Channeling.
Other than that GM, no problems there. We all have had times like that.
StephNyan |
I had already made the rolls for the new attacks versus Misarru, before realizing I'd done something wrong. Sad thing is after Misarru would've gotten up he would've taken brutal damage and died :S
It's quite weird how Misarru would've probably lived if he hadn't been healed, while after being healed he would've died.
Anyway, I'm glad it didn't actually happen :)
Vitarri_Tyrim |
I wasn't thinking about if Misarru stood up, I assumed he would play ded while Togg focused on those shooting her still lol. :/
I'm glad he didn't die, I was trying to help. :(
Vitarri_Tyrim |
Currently at the hospital, where I will be staying for an unknown amount of days. Posting may be touch and go, will try and stay in the loop.
Sorry for the inconvenience. :(
Vitarri_Tyrim |
Lol yeah I am at 1 hp. Sigh.
Edit
That Channel was a little better. =/ Note to self, buy wand of cure light wounds sometime... Sheesh lol!
Dagnobar |
Thanks. I'm at 2/11. However, I'm unsure if I took damage by the fire set my Misarru (since I was in still in the fungus when he lit it) and then being dragged through the flames by Xander. Waiting on a GM ruling for that.
StephNyan |
Misarru tried the set fire to a part of the fungus, but the fungus didn't agree with just letting that happen.
Vitarri by the way ninja'd me with his second channel.
Edit: In PFS taking actions that could harm teammates isn't allowed, unless those teammates say they don't mind. This is part of the no-PvP policy of PFS. Meaning if these were normal plants and the fire could harm Dagnobar, I'd not allow the fire to be started.
Dagnobar |
Oh, okay. I was thinking I was going to be roasted dwarf for the Togg.
I could just see people lighting the fungus on fire while i'm laying there unconscious and being dragged through it with a grappling hook. Made for quite a scene.
