Omar draws his greatsword and strides up to the golem-thing.
We can take this thing down...whoaaaaaa!
He nearly drops his sword as he slips on the smooth floor.
MW greatsword : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 for dmg : 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10
feel free to roll if I need a save or anything by entering the room....since Omar did not start turn in view I was not sure.

I don't think "close your eyes and attack" is a Trick that can be taught, so I'm assuming Yiel-Dan will just take the Will save every round. If I'm wrong please let me know.
Yagi, snapped out of his reverie, averts his eyes from the worst of the dazzling display,
Avert Eyes: 1d100 ⇒ 80
and moves in to engage.
Yiel-Dan follows out of blind (but not literally) loyalty.
Yiel-Dan Will DC16: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
This time they're both in luck.
Yagi attempts to beat the robot senseless.

Yiel-Dan tries to pick at an exposed wire.

Yagi's strike goes wild, but Yiel-Dan manages to loosen a joint and bring the construct closer to its destruction.
The construct begins to try to thin down the number of foes beating on him with a few well placed slams.
Slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 at Kiddir
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 and DC 14 Will save or cower
Slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 at Yiel-Dan

Shecheren moves into the room to join combat, and Meleren moves into position to help flank the target.
Meleren averting eyes: 1d100 ⇒ 9 Fails to avert eyes
Meleren's Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Passes save

Korad, you get a +2 on your next attack against the robot in addition to flanking.
Korad the Avalanche

Korad focuses his mind to listening for the creature's metal joints moving against one another, he pictures the target in his mind and swings where he imagines the robot and strikes full force into the frame.

With a loud crunch and shower of sparks, the mechanized monster falls to pieces. With a final whir, the lights in its face dim, and finally extinguish, taking with it what little mental control it had left over you.
Ahead of you, the passage is wide open, revealing the archway that you took into this room after fight fight with the first mechanical horror.
Korad the Avalanche
|
As the sound from the enemy slows and ends, the Oread opens his eyes again to the battlefield. Looking at the construct he looks both surprised and impressed with the effectiveness of his blow.
"Anything we can collect from it or shall we continue out of this place before it moves again?"
Yagi Mi
|
Yagi shouts a wordless cry of victory (not that he did much to help in this instance).
Yiel-Dan gingerly plucks a bit of errant wire from the destroyed monster, swallows it and regurgitates it immediately. He gives Yagi a look that says "your kind has weird eating habits".
Zavubak
|
Zavubak snaps out of his baseless fear, but winces in pain as he realizes he's bloody and hurt. "Some healing.. If possible.. Ugh."
Yagi Mi
|
I can help with that, that.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Zavubak
|
As he's bathed with the glow of positive energy, Zavubak stands tall, watching his wounds close up. "I thank you. First Myrd, and now you." He lets out a sort of muffled laugh. "You bird people are a generous bunch."
Yagi Mi
|
Yagi looks at Zavubak quizzically.
Thank you. You ape-people are brave and stalwart, wart.
The tone of voice is not insulting, as it may appear from context. Simply put, from the perspective of the Tengu, they are the default and humans/orcs/halflings/etc. are all variations of ape-influenced humanoids. Whether Zavubak laughs or takes offense is up to him. :-)
Yagi Mi
|
I have but one more to give, give. But you are welcome to it, it.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Myrd Sharpclaw
|
Myrd stops casting his spell and waits while the others heal up. He will use his wand if someone asks.
"I guess we will go back now and report. Meleren and Shecheren, we would be honored if you would join us while we report to the Society. If there is a reward for us and not for you I will give you one fourth of my part which is to be shared between the both of you."
he hesitates for a moment and then continues
"Although it is not my decision to make I think that the Society should welcome you in our midst. I will ask the Venture Captain to think on it."
Zavubak
|
I didn't know that about the Tengu, Yagi. Interesting piece of lore. Zavubak has draconic blood in him, it's why he keeps referring to himself as such.
"The black dragon is as brave as it is majestic." Zavubak nods at Yagi's compliment. "As long as I've got something to cut down, I'll continue to work for the Society."
Yagi Mi
|
Well, your ignorance on Tengu philosophy is easily forgiven, considering that I just now invented it. :-)
Yagi considers the impressive generosity of his fellow Tengu, and decides he's not that generous.
This was certainly more of a test than we expected, ted. We are lucky to have found each other in the midst of such danger, ger.
I agree you would make fine Pathfinders, ders, should you wish to join the organization, tion.
The Man Behind the Curtain
|
Meleren nods at the group. "I thank you for your help and am honored by your request. I will certainly consider your organization in the future. As for now... I am in fact a wanted criminal, being a part of the Blood Red Raiders, and I do not think that it would be wise for your group to associate with wanted criminals. I do certainly appreciate what we've done today, and I hope we can work together in the future. For now I need to make a clean break from the Blood Red Raiders, keep my head down, and try to make my own way in a more... respectable manner. Perhaps one day when I'm back on my feet I'll make my way to the Grand Lodge and see if they would be willing to have me..."
Shecheren stands somewhat awkwardly and simply nods. "Yeah... what the half-robot said. Been a thief for a long time, but he's right. Maybe it's time to go clean. I hope to see you all in the future."
Meleren looks over at Shecheren. "It will take time. One can't simply walk away from their crimes without paying their debt to society. Perhaps the first step is to come clean with the authorities and serve our sentences."
Shecheren doesn't look particularly thrilled with that option but keeps her mouth closed.
Meleren continues. "We have a bit of a walk back to your lodge. If you feel it necessary to deliver us to the authorities for our crimes, I will not resist arrest. If not, I can promise at least for myself that I will make it my goal to one day see your group again on much better terms."
Shecheren simply nods. "I can't really argue with that..."
Retracing your path through the corridors back up to the upper sub-level and then to the exit of the Red Redoubt is a simple task from here. From there you find yourself back under the late afternoon sun on the Isle of Kortos. From there, you are able to make your way back to Absalom before sundown.
Myrd Sharpclaw
|
"I did not see you commit any crime, and look forward to seeing you again. Until then I hope you fare well"
Zavubak
|
"To judge someone as quickly as I did is unbecoming. For that reason, I thank you for your assistance here." Zavubak nods and offers a handshake. His expression changes for a moment, and he adds, "However, if you are a wanted criminal, you really should be turning yourself in." He releases Meleren's hand and grins wickedly for the first, and probably last time today.
Omar Posada
|
"I have been known to bend a rule or two in my day, but being a wanted criminal is not something you want live with. The fear of looking over your shoulder for the authorities will drive you mad. You best put it behind you and take the first step to righting your life."
Diplomacy : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
The Man Behind the Curtain
|
"I will have no fear of the authorities. I'll simply do my best to lead an honest life from this day on, and if they decide my crimes with the raiders are important enough to come find me, I'll go willingly. I seem to have unique knowledge of many of these treasures down here, perhaps that skill can help me gain honest employment. Anything will be better than my previous jobs anyways..."
While they may be criminals, and any members of the Blood Red Raiders are technically wanted criminals, it seems as though their crimes in particular haven't merited any special attention, and they are able to accompany you into Absalom without being singled out by the city guards. When asked their names and business at the entrance to Absalom, they give their real names and none of the guards even take a second glance at them. They simply state that they are seeking employment, and obviously don't mention their prior involvement with the Blood Red Raiders.
As they depart your company, Shecheren says "Maybe next time we meet, I'll have a Wayfinder."
---
Returning to the Grand Lodge, Ambrus Valsin is there to greet you. "My, you sure took your time in the obstacle course, but I see no paint on you, and you have the amulet. Extra cautious or took too long with the puzzle?"
Yagi Mi
|
Robots and airless voids and rotating rooms, oh my, my!, Yagi replies with a chuckle.
Korad the Avalanche
|
"Of course not. Although thinking about it, it seems one of the doors might have been missing such a sign. The dangers began within the room with a chest. It was there we fought a robot, after that was an open passage to another area."
Kiddir
|
"Because there were... victims. And those who came before us and were trapped too. And we are the Pathfinders. Anyway, it's how now I see the situation."
The Man Behind the Curtain
|
"The Pathfinders who set the course reported in, and you were the only group I cleared to enter after that. But apparently someone else made their way in first and you all decided to throw caution to the wind and take it upon yourself to investigate. Well then, as you say, you are Pathfinders and you insisted on exploring... well then, report! And leave nothing out!"
Yagi Mi
|
We found the initial false traps already sprung, sprung. And the group that sprung them activated defenses that were long asleep, sleep. We met some adventurers a little white lie won't hurt, yes? who helped us when we were trapped in a rotating room, room. And we defeated a "robot" creature with the power to cloud men's minds, minds, before escaping to the surface again.
Yagi bows deeply to the Venture Captain.
Our full report will be filed in writing, of course.
Omar Posada
|
Omar smiles and nods.
"It is exactly as Yagi Mi reports, sir. We defeated some techno-golem thing called a "robot". If that was not part of the planned defenses, then some other party or parties apparently has access to the grounds."
Myrd Sharpclaw
|
"Another thing that might be of interest is that these adventurers were androids, living beings related to constructs. They helped us with overcoming the defenses of the tower. They seemed at least as knowledgeable about constructs as I am and helped us significantly. They might be of use if the Society would receive permission to explore the sites in Numeria. Unfortunately they did not want to come here to report to you, but I am certain our team can find them again."
Zavubak
|
"If no one else is going to say it, I will. There were two criminals in there. They wouldn't tell us their names, and I've no idea who they were, but they helped us get through the course. There was also a dead half-orc, seemingly carved up by some kind of machine. And footprints of five others..." He continues to think back on their adventure, but forgets most of the puzzles and mechanical junk.
Korad the Avalanche
|
"It is true. Though, When thinking about other stories of encounters with criminals, these were most pleasant in comparison."
Korad gives a laugh about the encounter, while maybe not appropriate, given the dangers that he saw that day, it seems to be the least serious issue to treat lightly.
"They appear to have been a part of larger group of bandits and may have been looking to rob the obstacles left behind. Not very well as they robbing us, but going into ruins and taking things left behind is also a common Pathfinder goal so I show understanding."
"I can not offer of their innocence. I do not know what they have done. But they offered aid when they could have hid. It is possible we may have been still caught in there if they did not help. More important, they seem intent to improve themselves."
The Man Behind the Curtain
|
Valsin seems nonplussed by the involvement of the criminals but astonished by the description of the chambers you visited. "Yes yes, best get used to working with the occasional law-breaker. We have many contacts, some of which may be considered unsavory, but so long as they weren't jeopardizing innocent lives, I leave their treatment up to you. But... these chambers. Deeper access within the Red Redoubt has been sealed for ages, this is a monumental discovery... which you certainly should NOT have moved through alone. That was dangerous and an unnecessary risk! Hmm, we will certainly have to take more expeditions into the Redoubt at a later date and see where the remaining chambers lead. Well done Pathfinders, you have a great future ahead of you, so long as you don't take any more unnecessary risks that could cut that future short... Take some time to relax, I'm sure we'll be needing your expertise again soon! And that written report, I'll want that as soon as its complete."
With that, Ambrus Valsin leaves you. In the coming weeks you hear of several expeditions being taken deeper into the Red Redoubt, and your group seems to have made a name for itself, and are treated almost like celebrities by those in charge of researching the Redoubt. Perhaps some day you'll be able to dig deeper into the Redoubt, but for now, Explore, Report, and Cooperate!

"Yes sir, Venture-captain, Sir. And I can sing it if the written report is insufficient, sir .
Omar bows and exits the chambers not sure if we just got our hats chewed out or what, but not something he wants to repeat again..,this week.
