I can UMD it, but I don't think that would work, as for mage armor, as it is a personal spell, you would need to use it on yourself.

You're thinking of shield. Mage armor is "creature touched."

Wow, I think that's a +31 on Track.
Unfortunately, I suspect the scenario has given zero thought to the outcome of a track spell. So hopefully our GM will fill in the blanks.
One thing I've consistently been disappointed with in PFS is that scenarios almost never contemplate tracking. I played a PFS scenario where someone was abducted by a group of zombies in the forest and there was no contingency for tracking them and our GM had no interest in adjudicating any benefit for doing so.

One of the problems with tracking in a lot of scenarios is that they take place in cities or happened well before you arrive. Plus there are magic ways to make tracking impossible. I think that's part of why there isn't much call for it. But every now and then there is. More often than not its a survival check to notice a foot print.
