From what I can see, Egg Fu has 5 points and Mr. Graves has 2. If we can rest overnight, I will channel, otherwise I will just burn 2 charges off my CLW wand. Let me know if we can rest or not.

Gina probably could have carried the kid down, but I've been swamped and missed the chance.

Gina makes use of the rest of her spider climb to map out the rest of the statue to write down and draw. She climbs in the other eye caverns, and even hangs upside down, joking, "Hey, look at me, I'm Caught!"

I almost forgot, I fired 4 Durable arrows. I assume the hit can be recovered and re-used, but I would like to recover the 3 misses as well, please.

The Midnight Mirror

Phosdlon: You weren't in a sandstorm this time, so recovering arrows is no problem.

It is only mid-day, so it's not really a good time to stop for an overnight rest, though you could if you really wanted. It would mean stretching your rations a bit if you don't catch up to the caravan. Party decision.

Yep, first time, here and for Organized Play at least. I used to be one of those silly people that posted in roleplay forums for the early generations of MMOs. And I also had a while where I could play and GM regularly at tables, so that’s how I got Gina to 5. Have to say this is the best of the 3 tables I’m at in OutPost for actual roleplayers.

Asked about Gaspar, Hokama shrugs. "I am afraid I only met him as we prepared for this trip. I admit a Taldan selling weapons in Qadira is strange, but he has been travelling this Silken Way for several years now. Ready...

The Midnight Mirror

Following the Kamawgyar Shrine trail, you soon reach the main route of the Silken Way as it leaves the western flank of the Zho Mountains. The smell of water in the air as you leave the mountain pass indicates that the Shat-al-Qadr River runs somewhere nearby. You have found your heading again.

Near nightfall as you cross a slope, you discover something altogether unexpected. The very caravan you have sought waits before you, the merchants and drovers kneeling with their arms bound behind their backs and the camels clustered nearby. Among these captives walk a dozen or so armed warriors wrapped in the dark robes and helms of the desert bandits you fought before. Standing with his back to you, is the armored form of the Taldan knight, Gaspar du Mer. He holds his wide-bladed sword in one hand and clutches the tied arms of the caravan mistress Jamila al-Shafah with the other as he shouts orders to the brigands.

The warriors are all watching the prisoners or Gaspar, so the only figure who appaars to notice you is Jamila.

DC 25 Perception:
You think you notice a slight smirk on Jamila's face as she makes eye contact.

You each have time for a single surprise round action before you are noticed. I wasn't provided a map, so enjoy my makeshift terrain. ;-) You are currently slightly above everyone else, and the slope between you is difficult terrain due to being a sandy slope.

Gaspar scoffs. "Well, if the giant won't take me on, then I shall have to demonstrate my power on the fox!" He steps around Jamila and swings his bastard sword twice, demonstrating amazing speed with such a large weapon. The first swing is solidly on target, but the second doesn't quite connect.
Ginadori takes 9 damage.

DC 15 Perception:
Gaspar seems to be a bit red-faced and winded. You suspect he's been wearing that half-plate armor all day as they caravan traveled through the desert.

”Aww, poor baby, Gaspar. And here I was, about to change into Graves for your sake. Now how about that verbal sparring? Are you going to go off about the glory of Taldor versus these desert cultures, or is this personal? By the way, your hobgoblin pals wear light armor, it breathes easier, but leaves openings for good weapon hits.”

Just adding in some free actions, like continuing oratory, and taunting like a good swashbuckler.

The Midnight Mirror

Solitaire taunts Gaspar as he flings a magically empowered card at another hobgoblin. As the card hits, the hob's skin pales while Solitaire's flushes. 6 damage taken, 6 temp HP to Solitaire

Phosdlon takes careful aim and fires an arrow that finds a gap in Gaspar's armor covering, causing the villain to bleed profusely. He gasps and calls back, "Scoundrel! An arrow is a coward's weapon! I shall kill you after I dispose of this creature before me."
