The Midnight Mirror

All NPCs fail their saves (because plot).

Seeing two foes go wandering off, the remaining harpy grabs a willing victim and flies off.

Acrobatics to avoid AoO from Graves: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Unless Graves' CMD is higher than usual for some reason, that succeeds. If it is, explain why and take an AoO.
Acrobatics to avoid AoO from Ginadori: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Ginadori may take an AoO.

Unless AoOs take it down, the harpy gets to the monument and is about halfway up it, carrying Hokama's slave boy Atmar.

CMD is exactly 18, and no bonuses I'm aware of... so she avoids me!

Mr. Graves curses, as the harpy snags the slave boy, and nimbly avoids him as she flies away.

He curses again, when he realizes his bow is laying in the sand over twenty feet away.

Note: Move first, then drop bow, next time! Oops.

I'm assuming the remaining NPC's are now marching to the monolith and the 3rd harpy's song?

Shovel still gripped tightly in hand, he starts running through the sand, trying to reach the Monolith as quickly as possible.

Run action, moving up to 120'. Am assuming the NPC's are now moving towards the monolith, giving me a straight line path. If not, let me know.

Once at the base, he tries to assess if there is a way to ascend, though pretty sure it will be too late for the boy, regardless.

Ginadori, you said you moved up but your token was still back; since Countersong is a 30' radius, I assumed you intended to be between your charmed party members and the NPCs that hand't acted yet.

Solitaire, Ginadori, and Mr. Graves are up! The poor youth is now inside the harpy's cave with his abductor, and things don't look good for him.

Ascending the monument requires one of the following:
* DC 10 Climb to go straight up (both hands free, move either 1/4 your speed as a move action or 1/2 your speed as a full round action)
* DC 5 Acrobatics to jump between ledges (same vertical rate as climbing, but hands can be occupied)
* DC 10 Acrobatics to jump between ledges (move 1/2 your speed vertically as a move action or your full speed as a full round action)
* Some other creative solution ... ?
Failing a climb check by 5 or less means no progress; failing by more than 5 means fall and take 1d6 damage per 10'.
Failing an acrobatics check means no progress and flat-footed until next round due to being off-balance.

Let me know if I need to continue drumming, it's a free action, but I haven't seen any indication that part of the attack is continuing.

Ginadori runs 30' toward the monument, getting a good look at it on the way. Any knowledges? is there a good spot to anchor a rope up in the mouth? As she runs she begins to search her bags for her climbing equipment, and starts chanting some weird ancient language she picked up from a tablet not long ago.

Casting Spider Climb on self as a spell-like ability from a Boon

The Midnight Mirror

You know that once a person has resisted a harpy's charm, that person cannot be charmed by the same harpy for 24 hours.

You can't see into the mouth to tell, but there could be a place to anchor a rope, which would help anyone trying to climb.

Solitaire and Mr. Graves start up the monument while Ginadori casts a spell that causes her hands and feet to become sticky.

The blinded harpy flies off into the distance. Since Blindness is permanent, she won't be bothering you any further.

Forget this rope idea, I need to get up there now

Ginadori books it, essentially running in a straight line up the front of the monument.

Moving up to 120 ft, which should get me in the mouth and close to the harpy, or at least to the lip, depending on GM's interpretation of running in a straight line. I lose my Dex to AC (-5), but I will use Dodging Panache if the harpy attacks me (+3 AC, move 5 ft), which I hope it will as opposed to the child.

Dark Archive

If you lose your dex bonus to AC, you also lose all dodge bonuses... so dodging panache won't give you any AC while climbing.

The Midnight Mirror

Spider climb gives you a climb speed of 20 and allows you to retain your DEX bonus to AC while climbing; the Run action lets you move 4x your speed in a straight line and does cause you to lose your DEX bonus. Ginadori makes it 80' up, which puts her exactly on the lip of the cave, but cannot take advantage of any DEX bonus or Dodge bonus.

Ginadori reaches the mouth of the harpy cave and gags at the smell. Inside she sees the harpy getting ready to slice Atmar's throat open with her claw. Seeing Ginadori, she drops the youth and moves over to attack the bard instead.

I can reach the cave after 20' of jumping... then another 10' to climb in, and 10' of normal movement at the end? If so, he'll go right on in, moving past the harpy if he can. All of which will likely draw an attack of opportunity (probably flat footed)

Looking around, you see that the cave is littered with filth and feathers as well as the bony remains of past victims of the harpies. Hidden among the detritus of the harpies’ cave are a scattering of 245 sp, an amulet, and a small teakwood chest. Within the chest are 40 gp, a map of the nearby Silken Way where it passes through the Zho Mountains (with Gaspar’s personal seal on it), and a bejeweled masterwork kukri, recognizable as part of Gaspar and Mahmoud’s weapons shipment.

Atmar thanks you profusely for saving him, then nearly faints as he realizes how high up he is. "I don't know if I can make it down ..."

The Midnight Mirror

Taking 10 is possible out of combat, and even Atmar can make a DC 5 to slowly descend, he just needs encouragement.

After rooting through the harpy nest, Phosdlon does a bit to clean it and try to store it a bit.

Going slowly, you are able to get Atmar down, where he is reunited with Hokama. You can tell that despite being a slave, he is well cared-for, and Hokama is relieved to see him unhurt.

Using the map you found in the cave, you are able to plot out the best course to reach the main route of the Silken Way; even if you don't catch up to the caravan, you should be able to complete your journey.

A couple of you are carrying damage; I'll give you time to decide if and how to deal with that before moving on.
