healing potion: 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 4, 5) + 5 = 16
As far as Emdaleen can tell, there is no trap rigged on the glass idol.
GM Eddv
|
Wulessa stares at it.
I can't really see that well in your world its a colorless landscape, is that the gold idol?
GM Eddv
|
And with that, you are returned to the glass-floored chamber you came from only this time facing a glass statues and facing a pair of glass doors. You can otherwise still see the swirling purple vortex behind you.
The Pair of glass double doors are roughly where the stone doors in the temple were and appear to have no handles.
GM Eddv
|
As Max inspects the glass doors, there is a handle actually but its clearly nonfunctional.
However he also notices its made of really thin glass - a solid punch from he or Thaco could probably shatter it.
Brother Max
|
"Do you mind if I break a glass door within your mind?"
Unless someone voices an opinion otherwise, Max punches the glass (wearing brass knuckles).
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
GM Eddv

Max shatters the glass door and the path forward opens
I am skipping an optional encounter to save time since we're running out of days here
The party continues along the path and then, just as before they find themselves transported to a more familiar room than last time - this time rather than being transported to a scene from Wulessa's past it is a scene from all of your pasts.
You find yourself make in the merchant's cage stand from earlier with the same squat mute merchant as before sitting gesturing for you to join him.
However this time, instead of cages lining the wall, you see keys of all different shapes and sizes.
The shopkeeper bustles around and you notice that something is not quite right with the noble Palhuna Murqal as he seems to flicker in and out of existence, as a dream might.
He produces a golden key and then points to a wall, where a door magically appears. He offers the key with glee and gestures to offer it to you in exchange for something.
As you wonder what that might be, Jaquillin finds herself in possession of a scroll which has the venture-captains portrait on it.
He seems eager to complete the trade.
Jaquilin Leroung
|
Jaquilin looks over the situation and then leers at the merchant.
"I think this portrait might contain our Venture-captain. This image is attempting to trade her soul for an escape. Atleast, that is how I am interpreting this. Am I right?" she asks, looking at the portrait and hoping, like with the statue and mirror, she responds.
Thaco Ulgar

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"Good enough for me. I'll give him our answer."
With that, Thaco sucker-punches the merchant.
Unarmed attack, nonlethal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Unarmed damage, nonlethal: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The merchant nods happily at Jaquillin and reaches for the portrait allowing Thaco to Cold-cock him....which of course passes right through him since he is an illusion and the landscape once again begins to swirl around the group but this time instead of going back to the glassy landscape, it shifts to the Tower where all of this began - or well something close to it.
It is dressed up almost like an old woman's tea time, rather than the austere and functional quarters that you began this vision quest in. Indeed, there is not a book in sight.
Instead, you see the room has massive hanging curatins hanging over where the pair of windows would be and one of these features Wulessas's face where on the other blanket is some ornate Azlanti symbol.
The face blinks and looks about. She visibly winces at the room's décor When I first became venture-captain, I took charge of Farseer Tower and this was how it looked. The Whole Tower. My predecessor was more concerned with frippery and luxuries than the mission. I had to rebuild the tower into the bastion of hard-earned knowledge and diligence. If this becomes my final view of the Farseer Tower, it will be the greatest indignity of all..."
She composes herself before continuing.
[b]" You are close to the end now I can feel it. I can feel the Archivist pausing its work with mke to focus on preventing you from reaching him. The shadows you fought before were reflexive, like sweeping cobwebs from one's face. Now I think you have its full attention. I don't think it even CAN appear directly, but you will be fighting its avatar directly when you leave this room. I can probably manifest another potion of you choice but otherwise, you can exit the room through this curtain I possess, don't ask me how I know that I just do. With him not focusing on me, I have a better set of faculties than I once did. "

"Good enough for me. I'll give him our answer."
With that, Thaco sucker-punches the merchant.
That was worthy of every great 80's action movie!
Jaquilin, though glad of the outcome was needlessly shocked by Thaco's savagery. As she looks at the tower she appears just as unimpressed with the décor as the venture captain.
"Much improved, I do say. What a garish look..." with that she then casts Mage Armour on herself and takes a last minute look through her spell book before looking to the group. "Are we all set?"
AC is now 17
At the mention of supplies she thinks for a moment.
"I obtained a scroll of Bull's Strength, but I was hoping to study from it so I could cast the spell when I wished." she states with a disappointed look. "It will only affect one of you and when it's gone, it's gone."
I was going to ask the GM to scribe it infront of him to make it official that I have that spell in my book at the end of the adventure. I believe the rules state I need to make a spellcraft check and it'll be added into my book.

Maybe that will be Thaco's trademark, 80's quips worthy of the Governator himself.
"Save your scroll."
"It's time to turn this punk's dream world," he says, cracking his massive knuckles, "into his worst nightmare."

Unfortunately, I still have only limited power - it is one potion of Heroism then?" The potion appears on the teal-painted teakwood armoire next to Max and Thaco.
Decide who will drink it and apply its effects accordingly but for now I will advance the scene.
As you appear back in the dreamscape, you spy a familiar looking silhouette sort of...morphing into existence in front of you.
It looks exactly like Thaco....but with some modifications. His arms look amorphous, like they can stretch to a length of ten feet.
He moves to the middle of the room and presses some kind of button and an item glows.
To match Thaco's 80s action film attitude he motions with his hands in the classic JUST BRING IT pose.

Jaquilin Leroung
|
Jaquilin smirks at Thaco's Comment.
"Yes, yes it is." and begins to chant, waving her arms and swaying her head and hips back and forth as she begins to chant dark, arcane language. Her voice somewhat altering as she is doing this.
"Ignia, rothsfar, gothstu, shralla..."
Casting Summon Monster 1. I'll post up it's stats next round but it's going to be enhanced due to Augmented Summoning feat, Diabolic Dabbler and Summoner's Charm. This is going to be a BEAST!

The other Thaco, eyes Omar and rears back a powerful thrust of his arms at Omar
Attack on Omar: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Omar Posada
|
If that thrust is vs FF AC of Omar, then he is hit for 10. I cannot see the map from the link...so I am not sure where he can move, so assuming he can attack.
"I am sorely wounded. Thaco, I mean you know, the real you. Attack this imposter!"
Omar will wait for one of the others to move into position and attempt to flank with them.
MW greatsword, flank : 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14 for dmg : 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 = 13
Thaco Ulgar
|
Thaco downs the potion in one gulp and hops back and forth on his feet, assuming a boxing pose as he inches toward his enemy. "Come and get me, you filthy doppelganger!"
Standard action to drink potion. Move action to use martial flexibility to gain the Dodge feat. Finally, he takes a 5' step northwest.
GM Eddv
|
Oh Woops, not sure how that happened. yeah he's a five foot step away from you and Emdaleen, 10 feet from everyone else
GM Eddv
|
I moved Omar where I did because any other move would have provoked an attack of opportunity.
Emdaleen Stingtouch
|
Emdaleen, assuming that this Thaco-substitute is at least a real creature, will use her stare on it then attempt to cast unnatural lust on it.
DC 18 Will save with a -2 penalty, or it will try to move toward her and caress her on its turn.
GM Eddv
|
Max has a mighty SWING and a miss, Omar has a SWING and a Miss and the creature starts eying Emdaleen....
Emdaleen can you roll spell resistance for me...gotta beat a SR 11
Will Save, with penalty and bonus for it not being the kind of thing that would normally find emdaleen attractive, still dependent on that SR check: 1d20 + 3 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 2 + 4 = 18
Oh I guess it didn't matter!
Jaquillin is also up.
Jaquilin Leroung
|
"Klaatu, Barada, Nicto!"
Jaquilin finishes her spell and behind the fake Thaco appears a ravenous, vile-looking Dog from the pits of Hell! Glowering red eyes and fierce sharp teeth it then looks to the dopplegange and attempt to take a bite out of it.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Crit Thread?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Assuming that's a confirm
Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1) + 8 = 13
Jaquilin smirks at the damage her beast has already done.
"This is only a small power summoned from the pits." she boasts as she then takes out a crossbow and then loads it.
Are people's HP's correct as stated in their info? Who looks the worst wounded?
Edit:
This small dog has a rough coat and a hungry look in its dark brown eyes.

The Dog tears into the Fake Thaco, biting him viciously in the hamstrings while he is distracted by the group at hand.

Thaco appears to have forgotten the effects of heroism...which ends the combat actually
As Thaco turns quickly to execute a jab, the fake him trips over and disintegrates on his already damaged legs.
It is at this point that a door appears in the middle of the room.
