Before Magali leaves, she hands you an officially looking document.
"Here, take this. It should eliminate any questions as to the legality of your actions. If you can avoid having to use it, I would be grateful, but do not hesitate to present it if necessary."
See slide #2
In the warehouse proper, Shabah finds a hungry fighting dog growling at her from within a locked cage (the key rests nearby in plain sight).
Shabah Al'Quna |
A loyal hound is a boon to its master, but a hungry dog knows no loyalty and disgraces its owner.
Shabah will carefully give the dog a strip of dried meat through the cage. If this improves its mood so be it, but servants should only experience the privation their masters wish.
Shabah Al'Quna |
Is there enough time to blockade some of the entrances? Since neither Consortium wishes the destruction of this warehouse, we shouldn't need to be overly concerned with escape routes. I propose we make some of these needless gaps in our defense more safe.
Shabah's got a drag/pull of 1500 lbs if it's relevant
Jamiroquai Bangobi |
Jamiroquoi starts looking for anything he can use to boobytrap the passages between the piles of crates and barrels... tripwires, traps, anything of that sort.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Jamiroquai Bangobi |
"We could make use of this!" He shows the trap to the others... "Maybe limit their path thru the warehouse... but where best to place it?"
Adnan Brumbie |
Adnan pitches in to help Shabah with the barricade. down to half an hour!

Jamiroquai Bangobi |
"There are three single doors into the office... I'm not sure which one to put it behind? the one leading to the warehouse? and how do you use such a thing, I've never done it before... I know pipes and sewers, but outdoorsy things like traps are not my purview. Sorry."
Jamiroquai Bangobi |
Jamiroquai is still unsure where to put the bear trap... any suggestions? make a red x on the map or something and that's where he'll put it... ic he has no clue where to do so.
Jamiroquai Bangobi |
thx, Shabah!
Jamiroquai does his best to set the trap in the square with the red x and place it so it won't be pushed aside when the door is opened and might be likely to stop an intruder.
Draklor Ribiera |
Draklor unfurls his whip in preparation to defend the warehouse. "You've probably seen, but I'm not the one who'll be taking the fight to them. I'll keep you in good condition, healthy and primed for battle, maybe relieve some of the opposition of their weapons if needed."
Adnan Brumbie |
yup

Ylania Greenbriar |
I might try to charm the first person that comes through the door before we threaten and he/she gets the bonus to the save?
Shabah Al'Quna |
Well Ms. Greenbriar, I would recommend against using overt mental manipulations against the Kortos Consortium for fear that it would be quite damaging to our relationship with any witnesses. If they only send a single emissary of course, that would be an entirely different situation.

Around dusk two things suddenly happen. From the guard room, a metallic clank followed by some rather inventive swearing can be heard, and from one of the skylights, two professional looking men rappel down.
How do you respond?
Shabah Al'Quna |
Good evening gentlemen. I assume from your daring entrance that you were expecting trouble? I can assure you, we wish nothing of the kind.
Shabah gestures for them to take a seat on some low crates nearby, Come, let us speak as people of reason.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Draklor Ribiera |
Draklor peers up at the two people above. "Those who understand the need to abide by the law, such as the Kortos Consortium, rarely enter in such ways," he calls at them, loud enough for his allies to hear. "Aspis? If so, your presence here dwindles by the hour. It would be the better part of valor to leave, this is not a hill to die on."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
GM Skipper |
One of the the men who rappelled down gives Draklor a sneer.
"The Kortos Consortium, that would be us, is law around here..."
Shabah's well spoken words do however defuse the situation, and they agree to talk. You are soon joined by two more agents, one of which has a thoroughly bandaged lower leg.
"So, what's all this then?", asks one of the Kortos agents.
Draklor Ribiera |
All of a sudden, Draklor becomes a lot more meek. "We were asked to guard this warehouse from the Aspis, but were also informed you, too might be paying us a visit. Granted, you aren't the problematic Consortium, we were asked to simply tell you about the situation. We have a writ vouching for us, as we are working with Magali Delroya..." sheepishly, the kitsune beckons whoever has the writ to show the others. "Very sorry about the trap and my attitude, sirs."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Shabah Al'Quna |
Ms. Delroya had requested that we avoid showing the document unless in dire straits...
Shabah hands over Magali's instructions regarding the warehouse Handout #3 - not Scion Lord Avid's writ
I am aware that this is not the most official document, sirs, but hopefully this will vouch that our presence was requested. You see, we are here to interfere with a shipment of drugs most dreadful, to be distributed here by the Aspis Snakes.
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 Hopefully there'll be some carry over from those diplomacy rolls...
GM Skipper |
Those have been some well-timed natural 20's.
The agent with the wounded leg reads the offered document, and gives you a professional nod.
"Well, everything seems to be in order here. We're sorry for the disturbance, and good luck with your remaining business."
They then all file out through the break room entrance.
Adnan Brumbie |
Adnan observes the situation passively, not a muscle moving. When the Kortos agents leave, he nods approvingly and continues to wait.

Jamiroquai hisses softly to get everyone's attention, then points to his ear and then to the door to indicate he hears sounds from there. He makes sure his own location is out of sight of that door, doing his best to hide.
stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Draklor Ribiera |
Not quite sure if everyone will have time to hide, Draklor prepares to empower his allies with the word of Irori.
Readying to start Inspire Courage should anyone get through the door.

One of the main cargo doors swings open, reveling a heavily armored man with a brass key hanging from his neck and a half-elf woman with a drawn bow. The half-elf takes a shot at Shabah before taking cover around the corner.
