CLW-Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The Midnight Mirror

Herrick: 3 rounds of healing is fine during the conversation.
Kai: It depends on when you cast them. You spent about 5 minutes finding the secret doors and checking them out in the main hall. You spent a couple of minutes searching the smaller chamber with the masks on the table. You spent a couple of minutes between fighting the mummies and talking to Isthenes. I'd say that min/level buffs from when you first entered are expiring, but ones from the small chamber forward are fine. Recast as needed.

Armed with some information from the Sapphire Sage's nephew, you open the secret door and move in.

I've added more map. You know there's a likely fight coming, so confirm any spells you are casting then line yourselves up in the hallway. Order will matter for line of sight and movement once things start, so I'd like to have you set the marching order rather than me guessing. ;-)

The Midnight Mirror

Eight stone columns support the 30-foot-high vaulted ceiling in this massive square chamber. Between them lies a sunken floor filled with treasure encompassing several piles of coins, ornate chests, art and trade goods, arms and armor, and even a gilded chariot.

To the south stands a set of bronze double doors engraved with the image of a single eye. These doors stand open, but a shimmering field of faint blue light stands between them. In the chamber beyond, you can see a strange black vault in which a mysterious and horrific ritual is underway.

On the far side of the chamber, behind a wall of iron bars, sits a wizened old man in front of three long, human-shaped bundles, holding a glowing green gem aloft with his eyes closed. In front of him is a mage, chanting and casting handfuls of dust into the air while performing an intricate ritual.

Of more immediate concern, however, are the five giants in the room. One has two heads and carries a flail in each hand, while the others look like large, bronze skinned humans. They each hold a huge falchion gripped in both hands.

DC 16 Knowledge (local):
The two headed giant is an Ettin. Because of the two heads, they take no penalty for two-weapon fighting. They are not known for their intelligence, but for their sheer brute power.

The Midnight Mirror

They are pretty clearly enlarged humans.

As you begin to move into the room, the spirits of the three women appear briefly. As one, they point toward the ettin and call out, "Zuberi!" The spirits disperse, with Kamila flying directly into Garmit, and Akila and Meshkenet going into their respective items.

Garmit activated Kamila's sword before you entered; the others are not yet active.

Xichikitte becomes a swirling mass of air as Garmit and Herrick move in and start the attack. Garmit slices a large cut into the first monolith, while Herrick's arrow hits the ettin in the shoulder, eliciting a loud grunt.

Are these living monolith's human? If so I may used Human bane bolts later. I am totally unaware of buffs now. Do we all have Heroism? Are we hasted? Bard Song? This show is without those buffs. Wait, if Rhuul has not acted yet Xen will move up and ready the shot, taking it after Rhuull's turn. She will also be ready to activate the false flanker for Garmit.

Xen moves up to the corner, stares at Red, and fires her crossbow at Red. As she moves she commands the mummy to also attack Red.

So the above roll would be 25 to hit (+4 from Heroism) and 31 damage (2+ from Flagbearer). And I mistyped above. If that hits its 3 bleed and "-"3 to hit not "+" 3 to hit.

Bleed will last until the LM gets healing, like normal bleed. But he is bleeding out of his eyes and not the wound. That is just color, but cool color. :) The -3 to hit is until I move my stare.

Blue AoO vs Herrick: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16

Ignoring the swing from the monolith in front of him, Herrick fires off a volley of arrows. Three hit the ettin in rapid succession, one in the heart, and one in each forehead. The giant drops like a sack of rocks. With another arrow already nocked, the archer turns back to the monolith in front of him and hits it in the abdomen.

The moment the third arrow hits the ettin, a terrible scream fills the air. A ghostly image of an ancient human leaves the giant's body, and flies back into the room beyond. Bright sparks fly as it flies through the force wall separating the ritual participants from the rest of the room. Kai and Xichikitte are able to see the spirit swirl around the body of the ancient man on the large chair, while the wizard who had been chanting in front of him steps back in surprise. The wizard looks around toward you, then casts a spell, disappearing from view.

At the same time, the three of you bearing the concubines' items feel them begin pulling you toward the ritual chamber, but six monoliths lie between you and that room.

Lovely casting of Dragon's Breath was eaten by the system this morning; now is irrelevant.

Is the wizard targetable, since we can initially see him? I'm guessing the blue force field says "no".

Wizard is not targetable. The force field protected him, and as soon as it went down, he bugged out.

The RNG notoriously hates me when I'm a player, so I know that pain. But as Herrick points out, at least you're holding the charge.

COMBAT OVER!

You quickly move across the chamber to the one beyond. You arrive in time to see the ancient man sitting in the chair give a final, silent scream as the body withers and ages centuries before your eyes. In sections, his flesh turns to sand, his hair to dust, his bones to ash. He crumbles before your eyes.

The three carrying the concubines' items are drawn toward the three bodies. As you approach, the spirits emerge and smile at you, before fading out, their tie to the physical world finally broken.

- - - - -

Zuberi defeated and the concubines laid to rest, you look around the remainder of the tomb. You discover that the items left here are replicas and illusions, with nothing of value remaining.

As expected, the chamber behind the large double doors in the entry hall is in fact a false tomb, with nothing of value.

- - - - -

You report back to Venture-Captain Balentiir. Balentiir heralds you as heroes of Sothis and plans a grand party at the Sothis Pathfinder Lodge in their honor. Many influential and powerful Sothis citizens attend, and you are encouraged to regale the crowd with your tale of finding the concubines and then rescuing them once more.
