Ouch. I think Gitano just took some fire damage... :)

Finding nothing of interest with the two stationary stone gear statues, the party moves on. From the layout of the dungeon and the map that you have been keeping track of, you figure that this eastern passage would likely lead to the final room of this level. Whoever had partially restored this level of the dungeons of Nhur Athemon's tower, whoever the homunculus and Snarltongue were serving, would likely reside in this room.

Checking the door carefully at the end of the passage, Gitano finds no sign of traps. And as he had determined from the room of the three goblins, he senses a handful of magical aura, the strongest of moderate strength. Listening through the door, all he hears are some faint hissing and bubbling sounds. With nothing else to do, he sends Rogar to the front who, without hesitation, throws open the door!

This chamber appears to be equal parts study, laboratory, and personal quarters. A bed sits in one corner, and bookshelves line another. Before the recessed southern wall sits a table covered in a wide variety of alchemical devices. Thick green smoke pours from the devices, covering the chamber’s floor in a foul-smelling vapor. The party, however, has little time to examine the room...

What greets Rogar as soon as he swings open the door is large snake (small size), rearing up with its hood extended. What is very unusual, however, is that the snake appears to be made completely of some metallic material. A few paces behind stands a tall, lanky man, dressed in black studded leather armor and coat. On his coat and bandoliers around his body are stored various vials of strange and foul-looking fluids. His face is grotesque - the right side is completely covered by scars and seems to be half-melted away, likely from some fiery explosion years ago. The right eye is clouded and partially covered by a drooping eyelid, and the right side of his mouth similarly droops low. A scraggly beard sits untidily on his chin, but is completely absent on the right side.

He waves a vial in his hand angrily at you. "How dare you! Who are you who disturbs the work of Krenar Half-Face! This dungeon is mine! Its treasures, its secrets are mine! Flee, you measly mongrels! Flee before I blast you into smithereens!"

Zavubak peers down the hallway at the creature. "I've seen this before back in Isger. It's an iron cobra, a construct, and it has hardness against some of our weapons. I'm not quite sure which."

Gitano spies the slinky snake and the visually-challenged, angry mad scientist through Ivar's ears and Rogar's right armpit.

The iron cobra rears up and plunges its sharp teeth into Rogar's shin. Rogar, caught flat-footed, is thankfully protected by his greaves.

"You ineffective worm! I'll melt you down!" Krenar screams at his construct, spittle flying everywhere, disregarding the fact that it probably is not able to understand. At the same time, he takes a step back, whips out a vial and hurls it with a surprising accurate aim right at Gitano. It smashes into his chest and detonates with a fiery explosion, consuming not just Gitano, but Baied, Zavubak, Ivar and Rogar as well. What's worse, Gitano is set alight!

Ivar's swiftness saves him from having his fur singed, and he goes for the clanky snake.

Zavubak is stung by the full force of the bomb, the pain just enough to send him into a full blown rage. "And here we must have the keeper of this laboratory, soon to be known as Krenar No-face." Zav zips ahead opposite Ivar and claws at the snake.

Zavubak, those are hard corners at the entrance (that's why the snake is positioned there). You would need to overrun like Rogar but you'll lose your attack. I'll roll it for you below.
Reese, yes definitely. You would have figured it is the same room from the other side. Although I'll have to stop you at the northern door to spend an action to open it.

Only the dextrous dog manages to avoid the bulk of the blast by pressing himself against the corner of the passage.

Gitano stops, drops and rolls. Will some luck from his goddess, he manages to put out the fire, although he still looks like a well-done steak. Baied calls forth for some needed healing, but the result is somewhat disappointing. Rogar, gaining some bull-headedness, pushes himself past the snake. The snake quickly rears up and attempts to bite Rogar, but while its teeth are sharp, Rogar's armor is harder and repels the bite.

Ivar gains some level of sentience as he recognises the clanky creatures encountered so far. He lunges in for the attack, and his powerful jaws manages to dent the neck of the snake, although it does taste quite foul. Zavubak follows Rogar's lead, and similarly barrels his way past the snake to flank it with Ivar.

Reese, mentally mapping out the dungeon, races around the long way. He dramatically swings open the door, surprising Krenar who sees enemies coming from both fronts.

The snake, with his primary directive to protect its master, turns around and bites Zavubak, the nearest enemy to him near his master. The unfortunate snake, however, chips its tooth against Zavubak's full plate.

"GET AWAY!!! GET AWAY!!! Krenar screams at Rogar. He takes a step back, pulls out another vial from his bandolier and tosses it at Rogar. Again, another huge explosion rocks the room, engulfing Zavubak as well. However, somehow, Krenar had tossed the bomb in a way that he and the snake are kept safe.

He draws his wand of cure light wounds from his spring-loaded wrist sheath, and activates it on himself.

Zavubak takes the full force of the fire bomb's splash, and quickly realizes what the real threat here is. "You really should've reconsidered that move, fool." Zav turns and charges at no-face in a blind rage, swiping at Krenar's face.

You mean at half of his face, right?

Baied, I moved you closer so that you can catch everyone who is injured with your channel energy.

Ivar's mighty jaw clamps down again on the iron cobra, and something inside snaps. The metallic snake looks on the verge of breaking apart. Gitano gets up on his feet unsteadily and heals himself.

Baied takes a step forward and releases another surge of healing energy, with once again somewhat disappointing results. Rogar ignores his burning form and steps forward to attack the alchemist. Unfortunately, his blade is turned aside by some magical force surrounding Krenar. Zavubak, although catching the full brunt of the explosion, disregards the snake and moves up to attack Krenar. The snake's bite once again is ineffectual, but Zavubak's proves otherwise. His axe slice hard into Krenar's shoulders, and the alchemist screams in pain and fury.

Reese, just checking if I got that right. As soon as Zavubak takes a standard action, you would move to stay adjacent to Krenar and provide flanking for Zavubak if possible?

And sorry, I should also mention he is holding a dagger.

Reese moves up to threaten Krenar but does not attack just yet. Meanwhile, the flames on Rogar burn intently, charring his armor and his flesh.

Ivar's jaws clamped on empty air as the snake slithers away. He moves up and attacks the snake again, but despite his master flanking the construct, the snake still manages to dodge the attack from behind. Rogar heroically disregards the fire on himself, stepping forward to continue his attack on the alchemist. However, his axe glances off his toughened hide. Zavubak steps forward, and rakes him with his claws, tearing into his flesh with one of the attacks. Gitano races into the room after putting out his fire. He stabs at the snake, but his rapier is repelled by its iron hide.

Reese leans forward on his toes again, waiting for Krenar to do something. "We've almost got him cornered!"

Baied dashes into the room, skirts around the snake and laying a healing charge on Rogar. Although Rogar's burnt skin starts to knits together, some of it start to char again as Rogar continues burning.

The snake, programmed to protect its master, slithers towards Zavubak who just tore into Krenar. This time, it manages to find a chink in his armor and sinks its fangs into his knees.

Krenar steps around Zavubak, keeping himself from being cornered. Almost immediately, Reese steps forward and slams his hammer at him, but it glances off his tough hide. Irritated by this skald who keeps dogging his step, Krenar pulls out another vial and tosses it at him. This leaves an opening for Reese to get in another attack, but this one lands short. (AoO from Zavubak also.) This time, however, Krenar was too anxious in his attack and the vial goes wide, landing in the space just north of Reese. The explosion engulfs Reese, Zavubak, Rogar, Baied, Krenar and his own snake! Being somewhat prepared, Krenar ducks and avoids the bulk of the blast, but is nonetheless singed. However, the explosion melts down the already badly damaged construct.

Gitano sweeps his rapier right to left away from the wall, and thrusts his blade at Half-Face. "Distesa, stoccata."

Despite Rogar's badly singed hair and beard, he continues his relentless attack on Krenar. However, his mighty swing is repelled by Krenar's toughened hide. Ivar runs up to flank Krenar. Krenar takes the opportunity to strike with his dagger, drawing a thin bloody line across his side. Ivar tries to return the favour, but Krenar manages to hop out of the way.

Reese's hammer, however, slams hard onto Krenar shoulder, cracking his collar bone. Baied releases one more blast of healing, this time restoring the health of her party more significantly.

Clutching his injured shoulder, some sanity seems to return to his eyes as he looks around in alarm, seeing himself surrounded. He concentrates and suddenly, he starts rising into the air! Immediately, all of the party surrounding him strike in reaction to the opening created.

Yup, that's right. He's got levitation on. :) I'm just posting his move action here, as I want to resolve the AoO from everybody before his action. It could make a significant difference. *hint hint* :)
