As Krenar rises unsteadily into the air creating an opening, all the party members surrounding him lash out with their attacks. Reese's hammer slams fruitlessly against some magical shield surrounding him, and Gitano's rapier fare no better. Ivar leaps up to tear at Krenar's leg, but he moves it away in time and Ivar misses. Rogar, however, swings his mighty axe, chopping it straight into his back, smashing many of his rib bones, as he screams in agony. Nonetheless, Krenar continues struggling up towards to ceiling. Until Zavubak's flinty claws rake right across his chest, exposing his flesh and heart. He barely manages to scream again before collapsing, his lifeless body continue to float grotesquely in the air.

Combat over!!! Yeah!!!

Year of Boundless Wonder

Almost immediately after taking out the threat of the alchemist, the party start piling on top of the flaming Rogar, and after suffering some burnt skin and charred hair, you collectively manage to put out his fire. All with Ivar barking in the background, wondering whether to join in.

Only after tending to your wounds do you take the time to methodically search through the room. Krenar Half-Face seemed to have converted this chamber into a make-shift quarters for himself. From the experimental set-up and his random notes, he appears intent upon unlocking the secrets of Nhur Athemon and using them for his own foul ends. Krenar has taken to all forms of experimentation to learn of his magic, regardless of the cost. How he found these dungeons and when exactly he moved in is not mentioned, and shall remain a secret he carries to his grave.

(Won't be listing the various magic items since this is the end of the scenario except for these two special ones which would appear in the chronicle sheet.)

Going through his belongings, amongst the miscellaneous potions, wands and alchemical creations, a magical alembic catches your eye. It is framed in a delicate silver brace and the glass is etched with various arcane runes. After some study, you discover that any potions that you consume from this alembic makes them more potent.

Another item of note is a mysterious unguent. Krenar was obviously studying it with great interest, and thus it was likely left over from Nhur Athemon himself. Krenar's research is left uncompleted, however, and all you can determine from his notes is that applying it leads to some random mutation.

Most importantly, however, is a complex-looking iron key you find on the body of Krenar. Retreating back to the room you fought the construct, sure enough the key unlocks the mysterious door to the south. Opening it reveals a flight of stairs that descend further into the dungeons. Mindful of Dreng's admonishment not to explore further than this level of dungeons, you lock back the door and slowly make your back out, back into the welcoming open air of Thornkeep.
