Zathran, his hammer already in hand, moves down to attack the leader. Given the creatures starting negotiation, it was inevitable this would end in combat, so he feels no regret.

Onix, your icon was adjacent to the wrong enemy, so I placed next to the ruler.

Resisting the stench with a burst of willpower, Onix grabs ahold of the ghoulish ruler.

Zathran also fights off the urge to get sick, but is unable to hit the remaining festrog.

Tamisiel tosses her grenade by the makeshift throne, however the device does not yet go off.

As Darius' fortitude manages to shrug off all manner of threats, the rogue strikes the leader with both his weapons and steps away.

Perhaps due to taking a large whiff of the air around the polyp earlier, Mark finds himself sickened by the leader's smell and his sword slash misses. The sickened condition lasts for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 minutes.

Dieb casts a spell which creates a beam of positive energy that hits the grappled leader and burns him somewhat.

The festrog threatening Mark and Zathran spreads his attack between the two, with two claws at the ranger and a bite at the rogue. Distracted by trying to hit two targets, he misses them both.

The undead ruler in Onix' grasp manages to sink one claw deep into the monk in the hopes his paralysis will take effect. "I shall enjoy making you suffer when you become my minions!" He exclaims with an unhinged cackle. Onix takes 9 damage from the claw and needs to make a DC 15 Fort save vs. paralysis.

Really sorry, the bomb is already in play and I alread rolled damage (11). In fairness I did not know you were there then I threw it. I'll be over next round to start healing. Hopefully you'll be up and read to fight by the time the paralysis wears off.

Be Carefull! The blast for a grenade is 10ft. You are getting too close. Any chance you want to run over and pull Onix out of the blast radius.

Darius pulls Onix out of the blast radius of Tamisiel's grenade, while Dieb's spell misses its target. Zathran moves out of range and opts to wait and see if the alchemical device destroys the pretentious undead.

The grenade blows with a loud boom, destroying any semblance to makeshift throne of bone, damaging the nearby chest, and blowing off a large chunk of the ghoul, who falls into an inert pile.

Things begin to calm immediately, although Tamisiel holds another active grenade in her hand.

Combat is over, assuming Tamisiel wants to quickly put out that fuse.

Inside the chest, the party discovers 10,000 silver pieces.

Unless you plan on leaving, there's still a secret door to open and a rubble filled passage to excavate and explore.

Once Tamisiel seems to believe the secret door is free of traps, Zathran, his warhammer ready in his hand, will stand near her, ready to fight any foes that may jump through.

Tamisiel finds no traps on the door and it opens easily. Beyond the secret door is a narrow set of steep stairs descending into darkness. After several dozen feet, the stairs end in a solid stone door carved to resemble an immense scowling face.

The next door is beyond the scope of the scenario, so just to speed things along...

No traps are discovered on the second door, but no matter what is tried, the door will not open. It appears to be sealed with magic.

Well, time to clear some rubble.
Using her drill Tamisiel makes a hole in one of the biggerst rocks at the base of the collapsed door. Inserting a fuse grenated she lights the fuse and quickly back up through the door way to the south.

Satisfied with her work she lets the others clean up the debris and work on moving the looser stones. If needed she'll split another rock for the party with her grenade in a hole technique.

Tamisiel's judicious use of explosives clears a small portion of the hallway, but the rest will require some hours of hard work with the digging equipment Venture-Captain Benarry supplied the group.

The grenades will reduce the number of hours this will take, but I still need to know if Tamisiel and Darius are going to help the others in clearing out the rest of the rocks.

Also, Onix can guide the work to make it easier for everyone with a wisdom check with an additional +2 competence bonus (essentially, this is a Profession (miner) check done untrained with the competence bonus).

After four hours of backbreaking work, the group manages to finally clear the tunnel. Even with some advice from Onix and Tamisiel to help make the work more efficient, Dieb, Mark, and Onix all find themselves greatly tired afterwards. Dieb, Mark, and Onix all have the fatigued condition. That means you can't run or charge and you take a -2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity. You'll need to rest 8 hours to remove the condition unless you have a means to remove it magically.

Before entering the next room, the first thing you notice is the smell of rot emanating out of the area, intermingling with the smell already coming from the polyp in the middle of the current room.

Tamisiel takes the lead down the cleared passageway, while everyone else follows her in despite Dieb's protests. As she enters the room proper, out from the shadows pops a ghoul who had evidently been hiding and waiting. Appearing even more voraciously hungry than all the other ghouls encountered in the Halls, he attempts to bite the unprepared investigator, but in his famished state his attack is sloppy and completely misses Tamisiel.
