I moved Tamisiel to the proper spot.

As things begin to look a little more dire for the party, Tamisiel drinks an extract to boost her defenses, while Dieb shoots a ray that his ghoul target dodges. Perhaps insultingly, the undead wiggles its discolored tongue in the arcanist's direction.

Meanwhile, Mark drops his bow in lieu of a bastard sword and engages the tongue waggling ghoul in melee, but only barely misses his target.

Zathran is up, and I still need a fort save against disease from Darius.

Combat Over

Once the party finds time to breathe again and Darius overcomes his paralysis, there's time to take a better look around at the room. The passage to the southwest is choked with rubble and will take sometime to clear out, but luckily Venture-Captain Benarry provided you with the necessary equipment to remove the chunks of masonry. In the center of the western wall, amid a series of scratched symbols, Onix' stonecunning sense notices a secret door hidden in the masonry. North of that door is a much more obvious stone door of the same construction as the other doors you've encountered.

Of course, the most obvious feature of the room is the large necrotic polyp in the center, which appears to be just about finished healing all of the injury it took from the ghouls and festrogs feeding from it.

Looking over the description of antiplague, it would appear that those infected with a disease are allowed to roll two fort saves vs. disease and take the best one, instead of receiving the +5 to the fort save you receive if you aren't infected yet.

The necrotic polyp is a mass of rotting gray-green flesh, roughly 20 feet in diameter and 10 feet tall, bearing hundreds of jagged, poorly-healed scars. In the course of a minute, it appears to heal all the bite wounds left by the now destroyed undead.

When Tamisiel cuts off a piece of the polyp, the foul greasy substance dissolves into a vile-smelling, watery gruel over the course of several seconds.

Other than Mark being briefly overwhelmed by the odor of death infusing every inch of the room, neither he nor Tamisiel find anything else of interest other than those features mentioned earlier.

As the others are investigating, Dieb takes out his journal and writes copious notes about the polyp. Everything about it is simply...fascinating. Spells that affect undead seems to affect it, but it regenerates--something he didn't know undead could do. And it regenerates, but does not grow--simply astonishing.
He tries to include a crude drawing, but his hand was never talented at such, so it does what he can, then prepares to follow Tamisiel to the next room.

Re: antiplague. I'll have them roll two fort saves when it's time, with the assumption that they used the antiplague.

Also, Tamisiel healed all of Zathran's damage already with her own wand earlier.

Knowledge (dungeoneering) does not yield any additional information at this time.

Tamisiel finds no traps on the door, while Mark tries to peek behind the door without being seen. Behind it, he sees a large chamber with a relatively low ceiling. The far southwest wall is set at an angle, and against the center of the wall sits a heap of bones and skulls resembling a large makeshift throne. To the left of the throne sits an oak and brass sea chest, carved with images of sea serpents chasing their own tails.

Sitting on the throne is what appears to be a ghoul dressed in rotting pirate clothing, with two festrogs at his feet prostrating themselves. Both the creature on the throne and one of the festrogs turn to look at the door when Mark opens it and wait for a moment before the ghoul addresses him, "I see we have a visitor. Who comes to the Court of Rajhan-vol?"

The ghoul on the throne seems unmoved by the attempts at building rapport put forth by the group so far and his motivations are thus far inscrutable to Zathran. The festrogs motivations are much easier to read by the hungry glares they give to the living people in the room.

"Yes, I've had dealings with this Thrennt in the past, I am quite old and powerful. Before we begin our parley, why don't you friends come forth and introduce themselves." The leader strongly suggests in an almost threatening tone.

Thanks, and it's no problem. I figured you had a reason for your move. I just like to get in a position where sneak actually works, so we'll have to see how the baddies react.

Tamisiel sighs as the fight breaks out. Taking a step forward she runs her tindertwig against the wall igniting it. With a satisfied smile she then uses the tiny flame to lite the fuse on the grenade she is holding.
How do you do the 1d3 rounds for the grenade? Does Tamisiel know how long there is?

Tamisiel, since this is a primitive explosive, albeit one that you created, I don't think your character would necessarily know how long she has before it explodes other than between 6 seconds to 18 seconds. I'll roll the ignition time, but it won't go off until the end of your turn on whatever round it's supposed to go off.

Although Mark has trouble cutting down his target, Darius takes advantage of the other festrog's slow reaction time to remove it decisively from the combat. While slicing through the festrog, Darius' gladius manages to rupture boils and pustules on the creature's skin which then spew forth noxious pus all over the rogue. Darius, please make a Fort save vs. disease.

Meanwhile, Dieb shoots magic missles at the remaining festrog, wounding it badly, while Tamisiel lights the fuse on a grenade she created.

Despite its injuries, the last festrog goes after Mark with full force, with a bite and two claws. While the ranger's armor manages to protect him from two of the attacks, a claw manages to rake him. Mark takes 4 damage from a festrog claw.

The ghoul slips from this throne and immediate begins attacking Darius with the same bite, claw, claw attacks exhibited by all the undead so far. Only the creature's bite makes past Darius' defenses, but it leaves a substantial injury. Darius takes 9 damage from the ruler's bite, and needs to make a Fort save vs. paralysis.

Standing next to the undead ruler, both Darius and Mark are overwhelmed by the terrible stench of death and corruption wafting off him. Although the other ghouls smelled terrible, none were nearly as bad as this. Darius and Mark, please make a Fort save vs. stench or be sickened.
