That, and it's something Brawlers would do. Maintaining ranks in it may be one thing, but I think Day Job rolls every session are worth at least 1 skill point (granted, I never play anyone with an Intelligence below 12, so I'm accustomed to having more than two skill points to rub together).

Ashka may not be so nice to meet, however. She's a very jaded, businesslike wayang. She grew up very poor (in the elven land of Kyonin) and has a good-sized chip on her shoulder, and though she's borrowed a lot of what she knows from the elves (using the Adopted Weapon training boon), she's not especially fond of them. And she's totally in it for the money - though this may change as she earns some gold and gets a bit more comfortable.

Will get a gameplay post up, and see y'all soon.

Go ahead and do some intro roleplay if you like. Monday is just when I am going to get the story moving forward.

@Fahd: A Courtier's outfit and accompanying jewelery, if that's what you're getting, actually amounts to 80 gold rather than 100.

I agree, Fahd, that was a great scenario. Unfortunately, GM Alice vanished off the boards without warning a few months back. I've borrowed a lot of ideas and approaches to running my own PbP's from her.

GM - what's the minimum level of fancy clothing we can get away with and still be tolerated at the party? Ashka can afford the 80 gp for the courtier's outfit and jewelry, but personality-wise she would not be inclined to spend money on such things. On the other hand, she's a professional and she'll do what it takes to get the job done - so I don't want to make a big deal of it.

You don't need to buy anything. You will still get into the party with your regular outfit. Fancy clothes would just boost your social rolls. A courtier's outfit costs 30 gp + 50 gp for fancy jewelry to go with it. Only the outfit will get you a partial bonus, outfit and jewelry will get you a full bonus.

As a side note, there are other scenarios out there that suggest the Pathfinders dress up a bit. So this wouldn't necessarily be a one-time wasted expense.

Yeah, I've played a lot of the dress-up party scenarios, and I was thinking about that. But I'd like to play out Ashka's personality, which isn't especially about pleasing people.

How would they react to an entertainer's outfit? I don't know if someone could spare me 80 gold as well? I make that upgrade with most of my characters, but this one's only got 18 gold and five silver left over from his first adventure. Leave it to the Bard to get invited to a swanky gig before he's prepared for it, right?

Fahd can spring for the 80 gold to get you properly dressed. Confirm and I'll mark it off my sheet.

How about Tocino? 'Bacon' in Spanish.

Or use Google Translate to come up with a cool-sounding word in another language that means bacon - I love using that app for naming characters.

Guess what? That's how I got this character's name, too! It's Thai for...some long description along the lines of "somethingsomething artist/performer somethingsomethingdarkweird" that I forget and can't successfully put back through.

Guess what? That's how I got this character's name, too!

Yeah, my other wayang's name means "shadow" in some Indonesian language, because that's where the shadow puppets they're based on come from.

I do the same thing for character names. I find Swahili, Afrikaans, and Welsh all have great translations that sound like fantasy character names.

Oh, and Vires, the pig is definitely NOT allowed in the house at the dinner party.

I just discovered some bad news: I've actually played this scenario before in the distant past. I guess I can keep playing, but under the circumstances, I'll elect to vanish early if the opportunity for another appropriate adventure I haven't played arises.

We are pretty close to the end. We should be able to finish up this weekend. So if you can hang in there a couple of days, it won't impact this game. But if you have to, I guess you could just fade away into the shadows. Ha, ha! Get it? Cause your a wayang. Shadows. Is this mike on?

@Xasay: The system didn't have any trouble when I reported you in this game. So I don't know if that means your previous session was never reported, or the system is just not that smart. I will leave it up to you how to handle your character.

ok im still new to PFS, but i thought you could not play evil characters and this NPC is worshiping Asmodeus...what

oh and im still confused about the 4,700 gp worth of items we found. how dose that work into the 550 gp we got??

Two points:
1)Asmodeus is lawful evil, and generally, you have to be one alignment step away from your deity. So you could be a lawful neutral worshipper of Asmodeus with no problems. A lawyer, for example, would be a good fit for worshiping Asmodeus.
2) The Pathfinder Society as a whole is a neutral organization. So there is room for evil members of PFS. Not that you could play them as a PC, but they do exist.
