Seeing the baboon still stand she started to get a bit angry. Could nobody kill this thing!? She pulled back her blade a thrust it forwards with all her might.

She missed! With a blink she ended the possible scenario in her head, standing at the point just before the attack on the knowledge exactly which way the ape would move to try and avoid her sword, and thrust once more with this knowledge.

Zalanda, meanwhile, scares the sailors, who initially stand stiffened, not sure what to think of it, but then hesitatingly start removing the grappling hooks that attaches the faith barge to the Abacus.

"Darn monkey", Shayla mutters. She cleans the blades of her swords with the clean part of the dead baboon's fur. After sheating them she turns to Alia, "About the healing... uhm... I had not expected a human to care much... What I mean... Thanks..."

Abruptly turning away from Alia, she nods at Seiomi, "You have an interesting fighting style."

From the corner of her eye Shayla now notices Zalanda, who she hadn't seen while fighting the monkey. Shayla notices the enforcers are tied up, "What do you gals suggest we do with them?"

The enforcers each had a short sword, padded armour, a healing potion and a crossbow with 12 bolts. The clothes weren't particularly special or recognisable.

It seem this area is more dangerous than I expected. I would suggest we devise a good plan for you to get access to the Grey Revelation Inn. I would suggest you pose as merchants, that seek a way station for a caravan. What do you think? That way, you would have free reign to look around in the tavern.


Metella dismisses Temed's plans rather disdainfully: Pff. Any Razmiran worth his salt will see straight through that. Why don't we give them a taste of their own medicine, and disguise you as religious pilgrims. They're sure to give you the proper respect, and you'll be free to move about.

Shayla shakes her head. "I don't know the first thing about being a merchant or a religious pilgrim. Though the latter sounds like more fun. That is, as long as I get to wear one of those fancy robes. If not," she points at the gear they stripped off of the enforcers, "we've got some merchandise here. Excluding what we want to keep."

Can't believe I'm considering the human's plan as wel... Though it might just work... Guess that's why.

She looks at both Alia and Zalanda.

Hmph, I should not trust them just like that. They'll stab me in the back sooner or later. I was just convenient to them for a moment, that's all...

I'd guess the pilgrims here wear humble robes. Just like these two did pointing at the enforcers. I believe the higher clergy here gets carried away every now and then, though. They would prefer the fancier stuff.

Noticing she can just take what she wants, Shayla takes the other potion of healing that she said she wanted. She also takes a set of the enforcers clothing, but seems to hesitate. "Can I, as an elf, pass as a Razmiran priest? If they are all humans they won't buy it..."

"What, you're not human?" Shayla seems stunned and stares at Alia, but slowly her face changes as if she understands.

Ah... so that's why she's a nice person.

At times like these it became quite obvious Shayla hadn't seen much of the world yet. While still living with her parents she had seen only elves. In the human village where she'd lived for some years there were only humans. And while living in the woods she had once encountered a group of dwarves. Alia was obviously not an elf, and she didn't drink enough booze to be a dwarf. That had left Shayla with the conclusion Alia must be a species of human. Surely the world was full of wonders for other intelligent species to exist.

With a frown Shayla turns to Zalanda. "But you are human, aren't you?" The confusement was clearly visible on Shayla's face. "I don't get it anymore, my head aches..."

"Just be on your guard, we can't depend on things always going that smoothly." Seiomi said stoically, finally piping up after staying silent since the boat brawl. Her cane was held in hand, fingers rubbing the loin depiction on the top slightly worried. It wasn't her first time going into enemy territory where a single slip up meant the chance of death, but it was the first doing it with other people.

With the heroes having decided on a ruse, the boat continues it's journey. Metella is clearly pleased at the heroes having gone with her plan. The river narrows ahead, flowing around a central isle thick with trees and vegetation. The northern fork of the river runs beneath a canopy formed by the isle’s overhanging trees and riverside foliage while to the south, the river is open to the sky above.

Suddenly, a rustling from the shore can be heard, and with a great splash, a dragon-like creature of the river appears!

Seeing the drake pop up she cursed at herself for not hearing it coming, dancing around her party mates to get to the only open side of the monster left, and drawing her weapon with a slash.

Shayla still seems to struggle with coordinating her two weapons, while the swift inquisitor dashes around Zalanda, and with one fluid move draws the blade hidden in the cane and stabs the Drake, drawing blood. In the same move, she manages to dodge the tail slap that the drake dishes out in retribution. Flapping his great wings, the drake then swoops on Shayla to try and bite her once again, but the ranger is too quick.

After chatting with Temel and the Dwarven about business Zalanda turns toward Shayla and looks at the treasure she has found. " I can try my best to apprise them gems but I believe dwarven are known for their expertise in gems, metal and stone work. Metella can you aid us with identifying and valuing these gems? Amauhak, on the hand, tries no to get involved. Once addressed, he merely says "In the words of the diamond sage: 'Ask not the blind to describe the sunset'. I am ignorant in the matters you speak of."
