"Dawnblade, shine like a thousand suns! Cleave through the infidel's flesh as you sunder their lies!"

Swift: making Dawnblade +3 keen.

Then a wand surges into her hand, and with a command word, makes an invisible shield protect the dervish.

Wand: shield

She steps in front of her companions and wards them, blade in hand.

Aetherys stands fast as the dawnblade erupts in a bright light.

Seeing this might involve poisons or dangerous gasses, Percy draws a rod and casts a protective spell over the party.

Rhanloi relays what he remembers about the living cloud to his companions, then goes through the motion of drawing and releasing his bow. Instead of firing a normal arrow, though, his magic forms a force missile that flies directly to the cloud.

Percy starts to evoke the tiny bead, hoping to throw it at the fog, when he loses control over the incantation. The bead reverses element, becoming a sphere of pure cold, and engulfing the caster, flash-freezing him on the spot

Rhanloi was caught in a dilemma - he didn't want to damage any of the records here, but the cloud creature was a significant threat. With the noxious cloud enveloping the area and his friends out of the way, Rhanloi decides to cast an area effect spell to burn off the foul cloud. )Casting fireball into the center of the cloud...DC19 Reflex for half damage)

Rhanloi moves up, and covers the area ahead of him in fire. When he does so, suddenly he himself is engulfed in flame as well: Marra's wand seems to have backfired in some strange way, covering a large area with spectral flames, that burns brightly - and hotly.

20 foot burst around Marra, everyone is in it except Rasamoro. DC 19 Reflex save to take half damage of damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5, and to avoid catching on fire. The flame seem to last, so staying in the area will cause more damage...

RFX: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

The spidery undead jumps into the fire and starts biting at Percy while taking damage from the flames. The many smaller spider that crawl over its body burn away as the flames take hold.

Marra curses as her magic go haywire causing the area spectral fire, so unexpected is the blaze that Marra catches fire. The small halfling retreats out of the area of fire, and attempts to put herself out by dropping and rolling.

She still manages to maintain the Inspire courage for her allies.
