There's 16 levels - at a month per level that would take a year and a half to complete! It seems unrealistic a complete group can stick around for that long.

That being said, I do intend to run multiple levels if the group is interested (recruiting replacements where needed). I would recommend bringing fresh characters.

The first level of the emerald spire is Tier 1-2, so the archaeologist/ranger (is that you, Renly?) would be too high of a level.

It seems like everybody is in, so feel free to post in the gameplay thread once you have your character set up!


I'm still working out some things on my new character, but I'll have it finished no later than tomorrow! It'll be a monk by the way :)

The other characters look cool! I quite like gunslingers and summoners by the way, as opposed to many.

This is PFS, you can change your character freely until you play him as level 2. So I'm sure Kludde won't have any problem with that.

I'm perfectly fine with dealing with a kineticist. Just hoping we can finish the second level before the end of the playtest (should be possible). If anyone else wants to rebuild or switch out, that's fine as well. Is everybody continuing to the next level?

I am torn...staying a swashbuckler, or switching to a occult playtest?

I have my eyes on either a medium or mesmerist

advice would be helpful :)

I'm testing both, though my mesmerist is far from optimal (a goblin in We Be Goblins, LOL). I would love to see how an optimized mesmerist fares, but in either case, it'll be very interesting. My medium is focused on The Beater and can deal out some serious unarmed damage. I would also change to a playtest character, but if I rebuild now, I'll have to drop my tiefling race, and she is my only one! :)

No, I thought if you rebuild you could keep race, and simply change out the class. Unless you are changing for flavor reasons.

You can keep the race, lest you are losing it for mechanical reasons.

Ah, I thought since tiefling was no longer freely available, if I rebuilt her, I would lose the race. Let me check on that quick on the VL forums, and then I might rebuild her if I'm allowed.

Looks like we'll have a lot of playtest characters. The playtest closes pretty soon actually, so we'll need to cover good ground in this dungeon for me to be able to hand out that playtest chronicle (for me, I'm fine with it as long as we cover enough for the 2/3rd rule to hold - which is entirely doable). Wouldn't want to put the game on hold until June, would we?

And by the way, I'll run this level as part of the PbP game day.

I want Ilya to stay a monk, but I'd also like to to try a playtest class. It doesn't go together >.<
