Sorry, that was me being trouble :D
I was just saying I'm ready, and making the observation that 2 skill points per level suck. :/ (seeing how i'm good at disable device and stealth.)

The chronicles are up! Please check if I've entered everything correctly...
Let's see what level 4 brings us...
| DM Kludde |
The next level is one that is recommended for slow advancement (see below). Does everybody want to do that?
Here's the list of tiers for the dungeon levels. The ones with a * are recommended to be run at slow advancement. Basically, you always want to try and be in the middle of the level range (so level 2 for the cellars, level 3 for splinterden, level 4 for god home and still level 4 for the drowned level.
Level 1: The Tower Ruins 1–2
Level 2: The Cellars 1–3
Level 3: Splinterden 2–4
Level 4: Godhome 3–5*
Level 5: The Drowned Level 3–5*
Level 6: The Clockwork Maze 4–6
Level 7: Shrine of the Awakener 5–7
Level 8: The Circle of Vissk-Thar 6–8
Level 9: The Spire Axis 7–9
Level 10: The Magma Vault 8–10*
Level 11: The Tomb of Yarrix 8–10*
Level 12: The Automaton Forge 9–11*
Level 13: The Pleasure Gardens 9–11*
Level 14: The Throne of Azlant 10–12*
Level 15: Order and Chaos 10–12*
Level 16: The Emerald Root 11–13

I'm fine with slow advancement on the next level.
When we go back to town, Kellan will be buying the following:
+1 chain shirt
Pearl of Power L1
Minor bag of holding for looooots
Hex C3 (giving her +1 to day job checks from now on)
She's also gaining access to her first hex (from the Hexcrafter archetype), which will be Evil Eye!
Ketill
|
Yep! Currently level 4.5 (after applying the chronicle)
Ilya Akyll
|
Thanks for the chronicle sheet! I'm fine with the slow advancement.
I first didn't want to do slow advancement, because I want to max out Ilya's level as much as possible by the time she finishes the Emerald Spire. It's possible to end up at character level 14 instead of 13, if you don't do the slow advancement for two consequent levels. Then I figured, if I want to max out her level by the end of the ride, I can also opt to not do dungeon levels 14 and 15 slow. That'll still get Ilya to character level 14! :)
Zen'yr

HP /skils updated. Bought +1 chainshirt.
Bought land plot D1, picked up a few new spells (Blindness/Deafness and Daze Monster)
Going to pick up a few scrolls, but otherwise good to go
Zen'yr
|
Question. I have access to the spell tongues, which is typically 3rd level but I have it as a 2nd level. If I want to buy a scroll, it is 400 (2x4x50) or 750 (3x5x50)?
Ketill
|
All potions, scrolls, wands, and other consumables are made by clerics, druids, or wizards in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. The only exceptions are spells that are not on the cleric, druid, or wizard spell list.
Therefore you have to buy it as a 3rd level wizard / cleric scroll.
| DM Kludde |
Do you still have the receipt? Because these hellknights only take things back if you still have the receipt.
I've fine with it.
Redke Orefall
|
I'll be buying a +2 belt of incredible dex, if it's available in the town, otherwise, I'll save my gold.
Edit: Also, selling mwk dagger for 1/2 (151) and leaf armor for 1/2 (250) and buying mwk leather armor.
| DM Kludde |
Hey, we just broke a thousand posts. Not bad...
Ilya Akyll
|
Yay! :)
Zen'yr
|
what my bluff would have been: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
| DM Kludde |
Well...
Zen'yr
|
I aam curious to see all the loot we just passed up on lol
Take 10 on craft = 20
Ilya Akyll
|
Zen'yr, you can't take 10 on a Day Job :S
I acquired a Day Job when I leveled up:
Profession (Martial Arts Instructor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Zen'yr
|
Sad indeed
day job: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
| DM Kludde |
I'll be holding off on finishing the level until you've exhausted all options.
Vayu
|
I was just curious who wrote what ...
1. The Tower Ruins - Lisa Stephans
2. The Cellars - Ed Greenwood
3. Splinterden - Michael A. Stackpole
4. Godhome - Frank Mentzer
Next is Sean K Reynolds ...
Ketill
|
Dayjob: 1d20 + 12 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 6 + 5 = 29
Reroll
Dayjob, GM star: 1d20 + 12 + 6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 6 + 5 + 1 = 41
I do not mind getting less rewards, just hope that we still receive 1.5 xp on slow advancement. We can only switch back to normal advancement on a multiple of 3 xp...
| DM Kludde |
Yeaaaaah. About that...
Your rewards for completing this adventure depend on how you resolved the encounters. You earn 1 XP, 1 Prestige Point, and 1,600 gp for each of the following accomplishments (maximum 3 XP, 3 Prestige Points, and 4,800 gp). If you completed three or more objectives, you earn one additional Prestige Point (for a total of 4 Prestige Points).
Appeaser of the Godbox: You and your allies sacrificed metal to the Godbox, and in doing so you opened the trapdoor to the next level of the super dungeon.
(...)
Do you have any GM Credit or pregen credit to apply, by any chance?
| DM Kludde |
It's a bit of a design flaw that this level potentially only generates 1 xp, with the advancement that is being proposed.
Since each other chronicle gives 3xp, everyone will be affected because of the rule that you can only switch advancement track if your xp is a multiple of three.
Ketill is already on slow advancement, so if he is 'stuck', his level will eventually be too low to qualify to the dungeon level.
The rest of the party will be stuck in fast advancement, which means their level will eventually be too high.
The problem for the rest of the party can be solved (not ideal, though) easily by using pregen characters whenever the level range of your character is too high, and then not apply the chronicle to your EmD character. The other group is doing this to avoid going into slow advancement.
I see a couple of options:
1) You go into murder-hobo mode. I'm quite fond of the consensus you reached not to attack the trogs, so going back would seem like a character break in some way. I wouldn't want to force that on you at all.
2) You get no xp. We can start rules-lawyering about not having done all the encounters and therefore not deserving any xp at all. This is somewhat far-fetched, I would not know what consequences it has for the rewards, and i'm not even sure if it is legal.
3) We schedule two intermezzo pfs adventures. 'You have what you hold' is set in the river kingdoms, and so is 'The glass river rescue' (and some others). That would give the 2 xp you're missing out on.
4) We start all kinds of shenanigans with gm credit and using pregens. It's possible and legal, but heavy on the administration. It also doesn't allow you to do a seeker arc at the end.
Ketill
|
Not at the moment, but that can be arranged.
If not everyone has GM credit available I suggest we do two regular scenarios somewhere in between. I do not like to stay and murder a peaceful troglodyte tribe to earn more rewards.
Edit: Ninja'd by GM
1) No
2) Borders on or is illegal in PFS: No
3) Great! (I have played the two scenario's you've mentioned)
4) I do not understand the issue with the seeker-arc, is that Emerald Spire specific? Otherwise I am fine with it.
| DM Kludde |
4) If we ever complete the Emerald Spire (yay for us if that happens!) on the advised advancement, everybody would have exactly 33 xp, If (and only if) you have 33 xp you can enter a seeker arc (currently there's Eyes of the ten and Warden of the Reborn Forge), which can elevate your character to 'seeker' status. It's not something that is specific to the emerald spire, but I can imagine it is something some of you might be interested in.
Let's use this (link) to select two scenarios (look at the tab 'instructions' for instructions, and let me know if anything is unclear.)

Here's the list of tiers for the dungeon levels.
Level 1: The Tower Ruins 1–2
Level 2: The Cellars 1–3
Level 3: Splinterden 2–4
Level 4: Godhome 3–5*
Level 5: The Drowned Level 3–5*
Level 6: The Clockwork Maze 4–6
Level 7: Shrine of the Awakener 5–7
Level 8: The Circle of Vissk-Thar 6–8
Level 9: The Spire Axis 7–9
Level 10: The Magma Vault 8–10*
Level 11: The Tomb of Yarrix 8–10*
Level 12: The Automaton Forge 9–11*
Level 13: The Pleasure Gardens 9–11*
Level 14: The Throne of Azlant 10–12*
Level 15: Order and Chaos 10–12*
Level 16: The Emerald Root 11–13
8 at normal advancement + 8 at slow = 8*3+8*1.5 = 36 xp...
Filled your sheet. I also prefer not to do a multi-parter of more than 2 parts (because that would either defeat the purpose of doing 2 scenarios or inable me to play the entire arc with the same character)
Kellan Demonbane
|
Hmmm... Kellan actually had 1XP before starting the superdungeon (from the Confirmation). Wasn't aware of the 3XP advancement switching rule. So she might have to only do one of the interim scenarios, (I'll just drop in a different character for one of them, most likely).
My favorite ones on the list as of now are #1-55: The Infernal Vault, #3-25 Storming the Diamond Gate, and #4-1 Rise of the Goblin Guild.
Kellan Demonbane
|
Just thought of this... if Redke was to suddenly go murder-hobo, then Kellan could hate him EVEN MORE but it would get us through this with the 3XP. Just sayin'. :-P
Redke Orefall
|
I'm in the same boat, with 1xp for the confirmation so I could get this character legal before occult adventures was done... on the other hand I'm not too concerned with running eyes of the ten on this character.
Also, I *think* I filled out the spreadsheet correctly, thankfully it wasn't, "What scenarios have you GM'd..." there'd be a lot more 0s for me then :D
Peter
ps. Sorry Kellan, played the Rise of the Goblin Guild before :(
Edit: Missed Kellan's post, Redke's Response, "I was confused, I swear!" :D
Kellan Demonbane
|
No problem, I have a lot of "haven't played" ones on there, so I'm sure we'll find some that work. I was just hoping to find a couple that might have demons in them, since Kellan was originally built to be a demon-slayer. ;)

Zen'yr, you can't take 10 on a Day Job
I knew I had to react to something
You may take 10 on a Day Job check, but you may not take 20 nor can you aid another.
