In preparation for the holidays:
I'll be unavailable a good chunk of time on each day between December 23rd and the 28th. I'll try to post as often as possible, but feel free to bot me if the games are moving quickly despite the holiday.

Happy new year all!

Welcome to the future year of 2017!

I have been hit with a flu, will hopefully recover soon but posting might be erratic.

Day Job (Private Investigator): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Yeah, I'm gonna use my +1 reroll here.
Day Job (Private Investigator): 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15
Swayaah's time around automations has dulled her instinct around living creatures, it seems.

Day Job: 1d20 + 19 + 10 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 19 + 10 + 5 = 46
Anyone with a craft day job gets +5 from a crafter's fortune
Vayu

Vayu was one hit from death as well. That was close! They key for me on the coffins was when Kludde said, "... steps out of a fully intact coffin."
Craft alchemy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Vayu will be buying 5 scrolls of abundant ammunition, and a bunch of bullets...

job: 1d20 + 10 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 5 = 30

I'll be on a skiing trip this weekend, so I'll start the next chapter on Monday.
Ketill

Kludde, I am also on a skiing trip this weekend, but mine lasts until the weekend afterwards.
I will try to update profile beforehand, not sure if I will manage to do that.

Thanks for the sheet! :)

Thanks for the chronicle!

Profile has been updated!

I think you are supposed to level up. I've got the 'schedule' in the campaign tab. After applying this chronicle, you should be level 10 with 27 xp.
Swayaah Maelerant
|
I'm supposed to level up? Ugh, this is why I started tracking my level ups for my new characters. I must have forgotten to apply the level from the last chronicle.
Time for some internal auditing.
EDIT: I'm at 25 XP now and should be level 9. Which means I was level 9 roughly 1 level before I should have been, whoops.
Also, I added 2 stat points at level 8? Huh? Time to retroactively nuke my Dex or my Con... Dex I guess.
If I'm still within range, I'd like to be on the normal track.
Kellan Demonbane
|
Ah, well that's good. In that case, Kellan is correctly leveled and ready for the next level of the spire!
PS Kellan bought a couple fun magic items... one of them, the Cape of Daring Deeds, lets her more effectively act like a swashbuckler, and the other one, the Scarf of the Suggestive Dance, will boost her day job checks with Perform (dance).

I think everybody is at the same number of xp, that being 27. Either way, it should be a number divisible by 1.5 (so 24, 25.5 and 27 are all valid values, but 25 would not be). Perhaps there is a miscalculation somewhere?
Swayaah Maelerant
|
Let me see if I gave Swayaah GM Credit at some point. Nope, I did not. I've only played this character online, although I did lose track of chronicle sheets at one point.

Mask Misery: The subject can shrug off a condition for a short time before succumbing to it. The mesmerist can trigger this trick when the subject becomes affected by a minor condition listed under the touch treatment ability. The subject can ignore the effect of that condition for 1d4 rounds, after which the subject takes the full effect. This has no effect on any conditions affecting the subject other than the triggering condition, even if those other effects are also listed under touch treatment. The rounds during which the subject ignores the triggering effect still count against that effect’s duration; if the duration of mask misery is longer than the effect lasts, the subject isn’t affected by the condition at all. If an effect that imposes more than one condition triggers this trick, the subject ignores all eligible conditions. If the mesmerist is 6th level or higher, he adds the moderate conditions to the conditions he can ignore with this trick, and this trick ends minor conditions entirely instead of suppressing them temporarily. The mesmerist doesn’t need to have touch treatment to choose or use this trick.

Interesting, Zen'yr. So that basically gives you a few rounds to get to the person to use touch treatment on them, without them suffering the penalties during that time? Cool!

I put it on myself to essentially always ensure I can act should something bad try to happen to me.

It's on my spell list and everything!
For my friend's homebrew campaign, my bard died when he was swallowed by a Rhemoraz. Full health minus two bites minus intense heat equals extra crispy bard.
Now, my bard has a lyrakien cohort and she's a sorceress. I made sure she learned LC and now she can cast it 8 times per day. I can't tell you how many times she's saved us from super grabby enemies.
I'm in a different homebrew campaign on these forums. There are a LOT of tentacle monsters. My bard is the party scout and had to LC herself from plenty of dangerous grapples.
Swayaah has LC on her spell list. Too bad I can't swap spells.
Ketill
|
You can't LC yourself out of a grapple unfortunately (it's an immediate action to cast and then an immediate action to free yourself and you only have one immediate action per round).
Having said that: if my casters can learn that spell they have it.

Can't I cast immediately, then use a standard instead of an immediate to escape?

Can't I cast immediately, then use a standard instead of an immediate to escape?
Nope, you can't up-scale an Immediate action to a Standard in Pathfinder, and the spell specifically gives you the bonus to escape on the Immediate action that it provides, not just on your next attempt to escape.
Swayaah Maelerant
|
Ouch, that's rough. I guess my bard will have to grease herself next time.

I will probably post a bit less in the coming days since I have a couple of very busy days ahead of me. Our eldest son did not get into the high school he wanted to join. Now we have to choose again from the schools that are left. Needless to say his second and third choices are also not available anymore, so we have our work cut out for us.
In our city you apply for 1 school. If there are more applicants than places there is a lottery. After the lottery you can apply again for the schools that still have places available (and then also indicate 2nd to 4th choices). The schools will take care that everybody is placed in the second round. Problem is that the weakest schools tend to be left...
Kellan Demonbane

We've slowed down significantly recently... I hope everyone is still into this? I'm really hoping we can get through the entire spire!
Swayaah Maelerant
|
I'm still up for it.
| DM Kludde |
Yeah, i'm sorry for that. I've been really smashingly busy. I'm now about to head off for a holiday over easter, to get me some r&r

Still here. I got my Arcane eye goingb

Great, I totally understand stuff getting busy, just wanted to make sure the interest was still here! :-D

I am on a citytrip with my wife until Monday May 7. Please bot me when and where required.

So, I read about YMC, and their ability. My question is this: I have first Aid Gloves and as a standard action I can use 5 gems to cast breath of life. Can Sway be brought back to life?
BoL doesn't cure ability damage, so would she just be comatose since Int = 0?
Would the YMC, than just kill her again?
Swayaah Maelerant
|
Here's hoping one of you has Lesser Restoration, or Swayaah's going to need a trip back to the surface.
Don't worry about frying me, I'd rather be slightly burnt than a zombie. Swayaah and plant monsters don't work well, she died to some kind of wacky plant monster back when she was level 3.
Zen'yr
|
Yeah, I played that same level you did, with the plant monster that did a butt ton of sneak/grab damage. Let's put a CR 7/8 at the end of a scenario designed for a group of 5 level PCs ?!?!?
Swayaah Maelerant
|
There's the guy. It has 4 grapple checks with Str Drain and can turn invisible. Everyone failed their K. Nature checks, it grabbed me and another fighter and tore us apart. The only survivor was the Feebleminded Archer Paladin, who had enough wisdom to run away. It's not even evil aligned so you can't smite or protect from evil either.
I think the actual solution to that monster is to open the door, see it, apologize and close the door. Thank goodness Swayaah was stockpiling a lot of Prestige and Gold for an amulet of mighty fists!
Ketill
|
I have lesser restoration, I only prepared one, but can prepare more after a rest.
Swayaah is not dead yet, she is comatose, big and important difference. First Aid Gloves are rather useless here (and I also have them)
