The stationary light in the darkness ahead of Thistle's conciousness pulses once, twice, then suddenly becomes a blinding white light that envelops all the Nagaji can see.

Is this the end? He asks himself, only to have his vision clear, with a spot burned in his retina where the blue-ish lights of Caranthir's frozen arrows explode across the armor of the remaining knight.

Before he can fully process the situation, Thistle whispers a prayer and releases a burst of golden, healing light.

Channel to heal, excluding all three enemy bodies: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 4, 5) = 22

The wounds on his chest and arms burn as he brings his shield above his prone body, and he wills Jelani and Bruce to finish the job before he is struck again.

HP was at -3, potion brought it to 16, channel brings me to 28. Still Prone, but alive! I think that is the second time your unseen servant has saved me Caranthir...

Caranthir keeps trying from his awkward position, but fails to hit the knight. From up closer, Bruce does manage to hit the armored man, weakening him enough to make him an easy kill for Jelani.

Thistle takes a deep, cleansing breath as the frantic movements and tension settles down from the brief fight. He rolls over to his stomach before pushing himself up to his knees, grasping Jelani's outstretched hand to help himself up. He pats the big man on the shoulder, then nods at both Bruce and Caranthir in thanks for finishing the enemy off.

With that done, he looks over to the body of Fellgrim, the gnome he couldn't save from passing through death's door. A heavy weight pulls at his shoulders as surely as it pulls on his soul. The ache and sharp pain of the wounds he has sustained flash through his body, protesting the movements as he reaches down and lifts the body of the gnome from the ground.

Thistle looks around him at the others, and with a resigned sigh, begins to shuffle towards the entrance to the floor.

Good with going back for a res? I've got the magical hearthstone token, so that might make it easier. I would rather have all of us present as we go deeper in this level than not.

Fellgrim died, received a breath of life from Thistle, and then at 22 hp took this blow:

Thistle manages to avoid an opportune strike by the frontmost knight, and breathes new life into Fellgrim, who uses it to scramble away from battle. His sprint is not swift enough, and he promptly takes a sword in the back.

Yes, Thistle can do the resto portion, material component cost is 1000gp per spell, and you will need two castings to recover from the negative levels after death. I can't cast raise dead yet... Also happy to pay my share as well!

Thistle's face is glum the entire trip back to the bowels of the spire, avoiding eye contact with Fellgrim, keenly aware of another of his failures to keep his companions on this side of death's gate.

Once they are below, he begins his ritual of casting preparatory spells, and envelops them all in a series of protections.

With that complete, he reaches out with his life force and connects an invisible tether to his four companions.

See list below per character! I decided to throw a dart and chose electricity for the energy resistance, I can always cast another of those if necessary. Also the life link is active now.

Thistle averts his eyes again at the scene where Fellgrim fell, and instead focuses on the task in front of him. Shield and weapon ready, and a prayer on his lips, he waits for Bruce to open the door.

At the west end of the large hall, ancient Azlanti motifs decorate the walls of the hallway. A single door stands at the center of the north wall opposite a set of double doors leading south.

An ornate clockwork lock ensures the northern doors remains closed.

Although Bruce's locksmithing senses tingle, the key is sufficient to open the lock. Beyond, wide tables piled high with clockwork limbs, gears, and mounds of emerald crystal fragments line this large room. The north and south walls each hold a single door.

Inside, three human-sized being are alerted by the opening of the door. Their heads have been severed, with crystalline, skull-shaped outgrowths in their places.

In rapid succession, they three humanoid start slinging spells silently. The floor turns into a slippery mess, while the air first fills with a shower of glitters, then a billowing cloud of noxious vapor.

I need a DC 16 RFX for all but Jelani (or fall prone), a DC 17 Will save for all (or become blind) and a DC 18 Fort save for all (or be nauseated). The area is greased and filled with fog

Thistle's arm's fly out wide in a flash as the floor beneath his greaves becomes magically slippery. His ultra perceptive eyes are nearly undone by the sparkling lights, but he pushes through the distraction to see the enemies for what they are. With a smile, he prepares to pray and invoke the blessings of life.

And promptly vomits from the noxious fumes that fill the area.

His stomach is a churning mess, so Thistle turns and scrambles to get out of the putrid cloud.

Fellgrim falls to the floor, nauseated and blinded, while Thistle coughs and hacks as he makes his way out of the cloud.

The room beyond becomes visible once more as caranthir dispells the fog, while Bruce drags out Fellgrim.

As soon as the fog dissipates, it is replaced by a new one, cast by the next humanoid, while the other two prepare a longer incantation...

Thistle tries to lift his mace, but cannot focus long enough to swing without fighting back the urge to retch again behind his shield. He ducks his head and plunges deeper into the room, placing himself between two of the crystalline monsters, hoping to take an opportune swing at one of them.

In his mind, he knows that his failing stomach probably won't allow something like that to happen.

Moved further into the room. Pretty sure I can't take any AoOs, and I don't even think I threaten. If I survive whatever this new full round spell is, I will potentially be well placed. Either that, or I am running to my death...

Caranthir, unsure if it is wise to follow Thistle or not, decides to assist him. He makes his way through the fog and across the slippery floor and into the open air of the room with the strange creatures casting spells.

The elf takes aim at one of the creatures casting a spell, hoping to disrupt its actions. He imbues the arrow with additional flames.

Thistle shambles about in the room, unable to do much more than that, as Caranthir emerges from the fog and fires his bow at one of the spellcasters, disrupting its spell. Soon after, Bruce steps in and swing his mace at the first enemy in sight, shattering the crystalline skull and dropping the lifeless body to the floor.

RFX: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Fellgrim and Jelani wait for the sickness to wear off.

The blindness (gliterdust) is a separate spell. You get a will save at the end of your turn. Also, this was your first round after leaving the cloud, not the second.

As the last spellcaster completes his incantation, a large bear appears in front of Bruce and Caranthir. The beast starts ripping into Bruce.
