Thistle sees an opportunity, despite his still shaken state, to step up and end this unnatural, evil threat. Stepping forward behind his shield, he reaches his hand forward to touch the skeleton leader, casting the same spell he just cast on Bruce.

...and decide the gods do. The deaf oracle steps up and touches the bone priest, who turns black and crumbles to dust before his eyes, a restless haunted wind scattering the dust through the room.

All that remains of the priest are some tattered robes, and a small leather pouch containing a vial and a small cylinder of greenish glass - seemingly made of the same material as the glowing spire.

He moves to the corpses and searches them. When he finds the cylinder of greenish glass, he tries to determine what it might do.

He doesn't see Caranthir going through the arcane motions however, and inadvertantly duplicates his efforts. As soon as he sees the elf, he abruptly stops, worried slightly about offending him. Instead, he tries to communicate his thoughts on the magical nature of the objects, as best he can.

Thistle watches the doors and checks behind the curtain in an effort to ensure there are no lurking creatures left in this room while his companions go about a proper search and catalog of the things contained within. Once his companions are satisfied, he takes his position behind Bruce as they move further through the next door to clear out the remaining rooms on this level.

Beyond the secret door is another one, which opens into a chamber. Gray webbing fills this chamber. Huge cocoons of spider silk hang suspended in the webs, and the webs crawl with countless hundreds of pale little spiders. The spiders start scurrying around, and look to be organizing...
Its not a swarm. Yet.

DM Kludde |

Fellgrim readies his bomb, and as soon as the carpet of spiders flow out to attack Bruce, he lobs it right in the middle of the creatures. The blast scatters the arachnids everywhere, but burns the majority of them. As swiftly as it appeared, the threat is averted.

![]() |

Thistle smiles as the fire licks at the webs and curls the spiders into crispy little flakes. The exploration has become methodical, and Thistle does his part to search the room before moving along to the next door in his customary position behind Bruce.
Might as well take 20 on Perception for a 26

![]() |

"Good thing, I hate those creepy crawlers. Give me something with a mind I can charm any day." Asuna says as she follows the group into the room with the webbing.

DM Kludde |

Thistle moves up the the next door. The smooth teamwork of the party really pays off as Thistle investigates the door, and finds no traps. Behind the door, and L-shaped corridor awaits, very similar to the ones seen before, with glowing moss covering the walls and maintaining that same, eerie illumination.
Apart from the door which was just opened, there's a door on the west end, and one on the east end of the corridor.

![]() |

Continuing the methodical, careful pace, Thistle scans the hallway, then moves to assist Bruce with the door directly across from the one they just exited.
I will continue to take 20 on the search for a 26 until something prevents me. Please feel free to roll for me if you deem it necessary. No sense in holding us up to wait for me to roll!

Caranthir moves into the secret passage, impressed by the ruthless efficiency of the group.
Certainly greater challenges remain, but I can't remember a more impressive group of Pathfinders...
"It seems we are coming full circle here, at least if my sense of direction underground is correct, though that's not saying much," Caranthir says.
"Let's try this door and see what else we face."

The door, once again clear of traps, leads to a large room, with a wide hole in the center of its floor. A heavy, welded steel ladder descends straight down from the lip of this shaft. The extent and depth of the space below are concealed behind the many crisscrossing, whitish-gray spider webs filling the pit.
